"You deserve this. Haven’t you been performing well this month? Consider this your bonus, just a bit early." Xu Ke said to him.
Hearing Xu Ke’s words, the man finally put the money in his pocket, grinning at Xu Ke, "Then thank you, manager."
"It’s nothing, just a small favor. Go ahead with your work."
Xu Ke patted his shoulder and sent him off.
"I heard you were looking for me, I wonder what for?" Xu Ke pushed open the door to the room and said.
He Chen’s gaze moved up and down Xu Ke. The first time they met, Xu Ke had bravely helped him. Then, He Chen saw Xu Ke as extraordinary, a dragon among men.
But finding out his sister’s heart was set on Xu Ke, He Chen looked at him again and saw him as skinny, almost malnourished; noting Xu Ke’s pale complexion, he seemed almost terminally ill.
