Supreme Heir Son-in-law

Chapter 909 - 908: Saving Someone Again

Chapter 909 - 908: Saving Someone Again

"Starting today, my He Family and you become mortal enemies. As long as my He Family is in Ning City, don’t even think about establishing yourself here." He Chen glared at Niu Chengzhi, eyes filled with anger and murderous intent as he spoke.

As soon as He Chen uttered these words, Niu Chengzhi’s face immediately changed. Initially, he was holding back, considering there were many people in the club, wanting to save face. But now, with He Chen saying such things, it was clear he was being pushed to a dead end. Compared to the current situation, face was nothing.

Realizing this, Niu Chengzhi said nothing, dropping to his knees with a plop, wrapping his fat hands around He Chen’s leg—a true display of groveling.

"Young Master He, this matter is my fault, it’s my mistake. You can punish me however you wish, but I have a wife and child to feed. With your words, you’re forcing my family to jump off a building. I beg you, please spare me. It was my mistake for not recognizing your significance. Can I have a chance to rectify my mistakes? I’m begging you."

Niu Chengzhi had completely abandoned both pride and dignity, with only one thought in mind: no matter what, he had to change He Chen’s decision. He couldn’t allow He Chen to ruin him in Ning City.

Maybe he foresaw his tragic end if targeted by the He Family, as he cried with tears and snot. His pleas carried intense emotion, enough to possibly soften the heart of a compassionate person, but standing in front of him was the He Family’s heir apparent. As an heir, all his considerations were tied to interests—how could he be swayed by mere tears? It was laughable.

Seeing Niu Chengzhi’s pitiful state, He Chen not only didn’t soften but felt disgusted and annoyed, frowning deeply.

"Let go," He Chen said impatiently.

"I won’t let go. Letting go means pushing my family into the fire; I can’t let go," Niu Chengzhi shook his head, refusing to release his grip.

"If you don’t let go, you’re truly pushing your family into the fire. If you release now, I’ll give your family a way out. If not, I won’t let them off easy." He Chen looked down at Niu Chengzhi, eyes cold and devoid of any warmth. Niu Chengzhi felt as if he’d plunged into an icy pool, dumbly letting go of He Chen’s leg.

Niu Chengzhi shifted his gaze to the woman behind He Chen, about to speak when she interrupted, "Don’t look at me. I won’t oppose my brother’s decision, and trying to find a breakthrough with me is impossible."

The woman’s words shattered Niu Chengzhi’s last hope, darkening the light in his eyes instantly.

It seemed the matter had been resolved this way. He Chen stood by the woman’s side, listening to her thank Xu Ke, while Niu Chengzhi remained sitting on the ground, face blank and dazed. His fate was visible to all, receiving a few seconds of sympathy before people’s attention waned, focusing on how to impress He Chen and the woman.

Desolation seemed to belong only to Niu Chengzhi.

A server from Shenghao pushed a cart filled with fruits and drinks slowly toward Niu Chengzhi, apparently to deliver the items upstairs.

While everyone’s attention was on the He siblings, no one noticed the hatred in Niu Chengzhi’s eyes.

"Ah!" The female server’s scream was sudden and sharp.

Before anyone could react, Niu Chengzhi, clutching a shattered bottle with malicious intent, lunged at He Chen. His thought was simple: if you won’t let me live, then you shouldn’t either. If I’m going to die, I’ll drag you to Hell with me!

The bottle’s remaining liquid traced a smooth arc in the air, the sharp part glinting ominously in the light, forcing people to close their eyes.

Just as it seemed the bottle would hit He Chen, as a trace of joy appeared in Niu Chengzhi’s crazed eyes, He Chen’s body vanished from his front. More precisely, he was yanked aside by someone else. Niu Chengzhi’s hand couldn’t readjust the bottle in time before a massive force slammed into his abdomen, sending him flying backward and crashing heavily onto the ground.

With Niu Chengzhi’s fall, it was as if frozen time slowly began to move again, and people started screaming, understanding there was a difference between hitting and killing someone.

The woman hid behind He Chen in fear, but didn’t forget to thank the person who saved her brother.

"It’s nothing. It’s my duty; you’re guests at Shenghao. As a member, it’s my obligation to ensure your safety here," Xu Ke said, giving Niu Chengzhi a kick, causing the man who tried rising again to lose consciousness.

Xu Ke ignored the opinions of those around him, having knocked out Niu Chengzhi, and directly called security, "Send him to the police station. Tell them it was attempted murder."

Finished with that, Xu Ke turned to face the siblings, "I hope you don’t mind my taking initiative?"

Looking at Xu Ke, regardless of his decisions, the fact Xu Ke had saved him remained unchallenged. He wouldn’t begrudge Xu Ke’s actions. Moreover, with Niu Chengzhi in prison, there were plenty of ways to handle him without hindering his revenge. Besides, with the Niu Family’s head missing, he might even profit. Xu Ke’s decision was win-win for He Chen.

"I don’t mind; do as you please," He Chen said.

The ordered security looked at the unconscious Niu Chengzhi, then at Xu Ke, eyes filled with indescribable complexity. He wanted to shake Xu Ke, asking if he knew what they did, usually avoiding the police, yet now seeking their help.

No one else noticed the security guard’s mental screams and barrage of thoughts. All they saw was him frozen in place, as if struck dumb.

"Why are you still standing there? Quickly take him to the police station," Xu Ke said to the dazed guard.

The guard saw Xu Ke wasn’t joking, so he reluctantly followed orders, taking Niu Chengzhi to the station and relaying Xu Ke’s account to the police.
