Supreme Heir Son-in-law

Chapter 887: Bringing the Fight to Their Door

Chapter 887: Bringing the Fight to Their Door

Xu Ke followed the silent old drunkard into the car. After leaving the hospital, the old drunkard’s expression darkened as if it could rain at any moment. Xu Ke could see the suppressed anger in his heart.

The old drunkard didn’t talk to Xu Ke but drove the car at a high speed. Fortunately, not many people in the small town owned cars; most still rode their small electric scooters and bicycles, which prevented many traffic accidents. In the city, with the speed the old drunkard was driving, an accident would happen in no time.

Xu Ke silently touched the seatbelt tied around himself, his heart becoming still as a lake.

The old drunkard sped all the way, taking Xu Ke through more than half the town, finally stopping in front of a seemingly unremarkable house.

The old drunkard got out of the car but didn’t go straight to the door. Instead, he went to the car’s trunk, took out a large wrench, and walked towards the small door in front of them, raising the wrench to smash down hard.

When Xu Ke got out of the car, a splinter from the small door flew past his eyes, and he dodged it with a tilt of his head.

"You’ve become violent, violent," Xu Ke said, looking at the old drunkard.

But the old drunkard didn’t pay attention to Xu Ke’s words, his eyes bloodshot, pounding the door again and again in a mechanical repetition, as if he wouldn’t stop until he smashed a hole through it.

From inside, the sound of an opening door and a man’s loud shout came, "Who is it? What are you doing bashing my door?"

Hearing the man’s voice inside, the old drunkard’s actions became even fiercer.

Xu Ke shook his head at the old drunkard’s inefficient behavior, and in the gap when the old drunkard lifted the wrench to smash down, Xu Ke extended his long leg and kicked at the wooden door.

The wooden door, which had only a small pit chiseled out of it by the old drunkard’s persistence, collapsed inward under the force of Xu Ke’s kick, causing the raised wrench in the old drunkard’s hand to lose its target and the man rushing out from inside to see what happened to be pinned underneath it.

The man was not lightly pressed by the wooden board. He coughed a few times underneath before crawling out, looking at Xu Ke and the old drunkard with a dusty face. His gaze at Xu Ke was still normal, but when he looked at the old drunkard, his eyes suddenly became filled with hatred and disgust.

Just one glance made Xu Ke feel there was definitely an incredible story between these two, and his interest was piqued.

"Are you crazy? Do you really think our family is easy to bully, bringing a wrench and someone to our door? What do you want?" the man asked sharply, brushing the dust off himself.

"What do I want? Do I really need to spell out your despicable deeds for you?" the old drunkard said, gripping the wrench with trembling hands, his eyes red as if they could shed bloody tears at any moment.

"My despicable deeds? I really don’t know what it is I’ve done. Why don’t you tell me, and I’ll see what I’ve done?" The man, instead of panicking at the old drunkard’s accusations, relaxed, looking at him with great interest, as if convinced the old drunkard didn’t dare reveal what he had done.

"My wife has nothing to do with your family anymore; she has been separate for twenty years now. Why won’t you let her go? Why send people to ruin her? Does ruining her make you happy?" The old drunkard said through gritted teeth at the man’s unrepentant look.

"Yes, it makes me happy. The worse she is, the happier I am, the more miserable she is, the more delighted I am. But that bitch has a good life; she escaped once and then a second time too. I was actually not satisfied with today’s outcome. But now you’ve come over in such a hurry, which means that bitch was indeed harmed, maybe she’s crying incessantly at home, frightened?"

The man laughed maniacally, as if immersed in the scene he imagined, tears streaming down his cheeks, looking like a complete lunatic.

Frowning, Xu Ke looked at the man laughing without any aesthetic value and said, "She’s doing really well, not the least bit unhappy or harmed. If I’m guessing correctly, she’s probably frying mushrooms to snack on this evening."

The man who had been laughing loudly stopped instantly at Xu Ke’s words, but his mouth didn’t close immediately, hanging wide open, making him look ridiculous and exaggerated, even somewhat comically so.

For a moment, his eyes were filled with disbelief and frustration, "You’re deceiving me. That bitch might be crying her eyes out at home right now. Isn’t she the best at crying? She must be crying so hard she can’t stop, hiccuping and passing out from crying."

Seeing the man hopping with rage, the old drunkard seemed less angry and even showed a smile at the man’s appearance.

"Even if you don’t believe it, the fact is your people haven’t harmed my wife even a bit," the old drunkard said, gesturing with his hand to show a minuscule distance.

"Everything you’ve done is in vain," the old drunkard said calmly.

"Stop lying, if that bitch really wasn’t affected, you wouldn’t come knocking on my door, but hide in your shell like a turtle. I know exactly what kind of person you are," the man sneered, looking at the old drunkard with blatant disdain.

"I’m here today because of what you’ve done. You stir up trouble every year. In the past, we didn’t hold you accountable considering your age, but I never expected you to become even more excessive as you aged. Your actions have seriously disrupted our normal lives. I’m going to teach you a good lesson on your father’s behalf, to let you know what can and can’t be done," the old drunkard reprimanded loudly.

"Hahaha, did I hear you right? You want to discipline me? On what authority? Who are you to discipline me? Do you have the right?" As the man threw question after question, his expression grew colder, looking at the old drunkard as if he were a mortal enemy.
