Supreme Heir Son-in-law

Chapter 884: Going Home Together

Chapter 884: Going Home Together

"You’re wrong about this, but you haven’t said everything. Go on," Xu Ke continued, looking at Scar with a smile.

Scar continued to rack his slow brain and said, "I shouldn’t have bullied her." He hesitated to speak.

"Correct, so I’ll make it quick for you," Xu Ke said with a radiant smile, yet his image froze Scar to the core. Before Scar could process what was happening, a sharp pain in his hand instantly sapped his will, allowing him the release of unconsciousness. Xu Ke finally let go of his hand.

Looking at the three incapacitated people, Xu Ke turned his gaze to the trio standing beside the woman.

"What’s your agenda? Here to avenge them?" Xu Ke asked innocently, looking at the three.

The three, seeing the fiend Xu Ke direct his attention to them, were terrified, their bodies stiff as boards, yet their minds spun like pinwheels.

"Since you’re not here for revenge, why are you still here? Want to spar with me?" Xu Ke raised an eyebrow, looking at them.

On hearing Xu Ke’s challenge, they shook their heads like rattles, so much that Brother Jin, the one with the chubby face, almost shook his flesh off.

After shaking their heads for a while, Xu Ke’s look made them uneasy. Remembering his words, Brother Jin promptly and respectfully said, "We’ll leave now, right away."

Sure enough, Brother Jin led his two lackeys away into the crowd, abandoning Scar and his two buddies in deep unconsciousness.

The woman watched the three on the ground worriedly, asking Xu Ke, "What about them?"

"Don’t worry about it. Just wait for a good Samaritan to send them to the hospital," Xu Ke said nonchalantly.

"Isn’t it a bit harsh? Should we take them to the hospital?" The woman looked at Xu Ke with concern.

"No need, once we’re gone, the three who ran off will come back for them. I’ll take you home, your uncle must be worried sick," Xu Ke checked the time and said.

Despite her lingering worry, the woman didn’t act rashly, instead going along with Xu Ke’s suggestion, saying, "Oh, look at me, I’ve lost track of time, my uncle must be so worried. You helped me again today, and I bought a lot of groceries. Let’s go to my auntie’s house for dinner." She invited Xu Ke.

The onlookers, seeing the two about to leave, cleared a path. The scene of Xu Ke’s earlier violent act fresh in their minds, they had no desire to share the fate of the three on the ground. To them, Xu Ke was no different from an Asura from Hell.

Not caring about the others’ stares, Xu Ke followed behind the woman with a cheerful smile until they arrived at the old drunkard’s house.

As soon as Xu Ke’s figure vanished, Brother Jin and his two companions reappeared from the crowd, quickly moving to lift Scar and his two friends en route to the hospital.

Back with Xu Ke, he followed the woman home, who set out an array of refreshments for Xu Ke in the living room.

The old drunkard opened the door to find Xu Ke lounging on the sofa, munching on snacks and watching TV. His demeanor paused briefly, and he stepped back to check if he was at the right place. Confirming it was indeed his home, a complex expression, far from welcoming, emerged on his face.

"Come in, this is your home, you haven’t gone the wrong way," Xu Ke smiled as he addressed the old drunkard standing at the door.

"Why are you here again?" The old drunkard whispered through gritted teeth on seeing Xu Ke.

"You invited me, and if you have complaints, take it up with your wife," Xu Ke raised an amused and challenging eyebrow. The old drunkard felt a rush of blood to his head, his head buzzing, but fate seemed unkind as his wife peeked from the kitchen, hearing his return, "Honey, you’re back! Please entertain little Xu properly, don’t give him any attitude."

Faced with his wife’s instructions, the old drunkard forced a smile, "Sure, don’t worry, I’ll make sure he’s well-treated." The last words came out through gritted teeth, earning him a glare from his wife. Under her absolute authority, he offered a placating smile.

Sitting on the sofa, Xu Ke, looking up while snacking, watched the old drunkard’s change of expression, a hint of satisfaction in his eyes as he observed the couple’s interaction.

Once his wife returned to the kitchen and the old drunkard let his guard down, he met Xu Ke’s playful gaze, immediately clouding his face.

"What did we agree on last time? Why do you keep coming to my house? What are you doing getting closer to my wife?" The old drunkard whispered in a dangerously low tone, inching closer to Xu Ke, not daring to let his wife hear his intimidation towards their guest.

Xu Ke pressed a finger on the old drunkard’s forehead, gently pushing him away.

"Talk, but don’t get so close, the garlic from your lunch is all over me, it stinks." Xu Ke wrinkled his nose in disgust, bringing an awkward flush to the old drunkard’s face.

"Don’t dodge the question, I’m asking you something," the old drunkard’s face bore a look of embarrassed anger.

"You think I wanted to come here? Your aunt ran into trouble again, and I happened upon her and helped out, so she invited me over for dinner. I was just being polite." Xu Ke spread his hands, feigning innocence.

Hearing of his wife’s troubles once more, the man’s brows knitted, yet the mistrust in his eyes lingered on Xu Ke.

"Why are you always there when she gets into trouble?" The old drunkard eyed Xu Ke suspiciously.

"Shouldn’t you be pondering why your wife keeps having endless troubles?" Xu Ke looked at the old drunkard in disbelief, as if unable to comprehend his logic.
