Supreme Heir Son-in-law

Chapter 883: Where Was the Mistake

Chapter 883: Where Was the Mistake

Although Scar’s two henchmen were scared, they still stepped forward and pointed at Xu Ke’s nose saying, "I advise you to let go immediately, or else we brothers won’t let you off easily. You will surely regret it." The henchman threatened.

Hearing the henchmen’s threat, before Xu Ke could react, Jane and the other two guys had expressions of indescribable sympathy on their faces. In their eyes, threatening Xu Ke, the big demon king, was a clear sign of not wanting to live. The three of them retreated a step back in unison, now standing in line with the women.

Everyone’s attention was focused on the few people at the scene, with no one noticing the small actions of the three.

Xu Ke looked at the two people threatening him and tightened his grip. Scar, who had just regained some strength, immediately faced a new wave of pain. The sound of his suffering was enough to break hearts and bring tears to eyes.

"Are you fucking deaf to human language? We told you to let go of our boss, are you asking for a beating?" The two henchmen saw that not only did Xu Ke not release his hand, but he tightened his grip even more. Scar’s face turned ashen, and the color drained completely from his lips, making him look truly pitiful.

By now, Scar didn’t even have the strength to shout. He never thought he would end up like this one day. At the same time, he reflected inwardly, regretting why he brought out these two boneheaded idiots.

Scar really wished he could strangle them both, but the two being glared at fiercely by Scar felt nothing. They continued to look at Xu Ke with annoying eyes, even seemingly eager to rush forward to fight.

The two exchanged a glance, and in the next moment, they rushed towards Xu Ke simultaneously, attacking from two directions. In their eyes, this was a clever move; after all, Xu Ke’s hands were occupied gripping their boss’s hand. By attacking from two directions, Xu Ke would have to either let go and fight them, or just take the beating.

In their minds, neither outcome was a loss for them. The former could save their boss, and even if Xu Ke chose the latter, their inability to save their boss would still mean achieving revenge for him. Overall, neither outcome was a loss for them.

Their plan seemed smart, and they acted on it, but they didn’t consider that Xu Ke had legs and wasn’t just a stationary target.

So Xu Ke lifted his leg high and pressed down on the shoulder of the henchman closest to him. At the same time, he swung Scar’s body towards the other henchman charging in, causing him to punch directly into Scar when he couldn’t dodge in time.

The man who was pressed down by Xu Ke’s leg initially had a chance to evade, but he didn’t. Confidently, he met the attack, even having already planned his counterattack in his mind for when Xu Ke’s leg came down.

But as they say, reality is cruel despite hopeful dreams.

When Xu Ke’s leg came down, it was like a steel whip crashing onto his shoulder, caving in one side entirely. The man, who had been full of confidence to counterattack, lost all ability to move in an instant, falling to his knees and screaming loudly, startling everyone.

When the crowd focused on his shoulder, they understood why he screamed. The caved-in shoulder made him look deformed, and some among the crowd, too timid to look, closed their eyes, too afraid to witness, but with curiosity holding them in place.

On the other side, the man who couldn’t dodge punched directly into Scar, but his punch was nothing compared to the pain of having his fingers forcibly broken by Xu Ke.

Scar felt nothing about this pain, but his henchman was scared, his mind filled with the fact he just hit his own boss.

His mind was in shock, and during this momentary lapse, Xu Ke had already dealt with one and approached him. To avoid hurting the innocent bystanders, Xu Ke allowed him the same treatment as his partner, but his endurance clearly wasn’t as good.

As his shoulder caved in, he screamed and then immediately passed out, eyes rolling back. Utterly useless.

"Your men are just like you, not very capable," Xu Ke said, looking at the now pale and dazed Scar, who seemed on the verge of passing out but stubbornly held on.

"What do you want, will you let me go? I was wrong, I apologize, I admit my mistake." Scar was in extreme pain, wanting to pass out, but every time he was close to losing consciousness, Xu Ke would tighten his grip, making him painfully alert again.

But the pain in his wound was unbearable, causing tingling scalp and darkened vision, with no strength left in his body. Meanwhile, cold sweat continuously flowed over his body, soaking his clothes.

At that moment, he envied the unconscious henchman. He never realized passing out could be such a relief.

"You were wrong? What were you wrong about?" Xu Ke asked Scar, who was wavering between consciousness and oblivion.

Scar’s sluggish mind took a long moment before restarting.

"I was wrong to underestimate you," Scar reluctantly admitted.

As soon as he said it, another wave of sharp pain hit his wound, making his vision go dark, on the verge of fainting but unable to succumb.

"That’s not the mistake, keep thinking, what else were you wrong about?" Xu Ke asked slowly.

Scar’s cumbersome mind churned as he recalled for another long moment, this time taking even longer in silence.

"I shouldn’t have slandered your relationship. I was wrong," Scar finally said after dredging up the memory from his brain, afraid that any delay would provoke further torment from the demon king in front of him.

This time, Xu Ke didn’t squeeze his wound but didn’t release his hand either, yet Scar was quite satisfied with even this. If he weren’t so exhausted, his lips might have curled up in a smile.
