Chapter 881: Let’s Have a Fight
Chapter 881: Let’s Have a Fight
"Does it matter who I am?" Xu Ke tilted his head, giving the other person an exceptionally innocent look, successfully pouring gasoline on a fire that was already burning with anger, making the flames grow even larger.
Scar was so infuriated by Xu Ke’s behavior that he laughed. His tongue pushed against his cheek, and his gaze at Xu Ke was particularly dangerous, like a wolf staring at its prey.
"You’ve got guts. I really hope you can keep it up in a moment." The man said as he rotated his neck, looking at Xu Ke like a wolf ready to pounce, causing those who met his gaze to instinctively look away, not daring to make eye contact, while Xu Ke alone looked at him with a smiling, unwavering gaze.
Seeing Xu Ke like this, the other three people hiding on the side instinctively shuddered, as if recalling something terrifying. But even so, Boss Jin proved to be the most reliable among the three.
Even though he was very afraid of Xu Ke, he still suppressed his instinctive fear and walked over to Scar, whispering in his ear, "Brother Scar, there’s something strange about this kid. Don’t be fooled by his skinny frame; he’s incredibly strong. The last time I fought him with my men, he kicked me away with one blow. Even with my size, I couldn’t block it. Be careful if you fight him."
Scar hadn’t initially taken Xu Ke seriously, but hearing what Boss Jin said, a bit of caution appeared in his eyes as he scrutinized Xu Ke from head to toe, trying to see what was different about him that could explain Boss Jin’s claims. However, after sizing up Xu Ke, he still didn’t believe Xu Ke could kick him away as Boss Jin had said. From the look of Xu Ke’s thin legs, it seemed impossible for them to harbor such power.
"You’re exaggerating, right? How could someone like him kick you away with one blow? Just look at those legs; they’re thin as bamboo poles. I could break them with one kick. How could they be so powerful?" Scar said, looking at Boss Jin’s obese body.
"Brother Scar, I’m not lying to you. Do you think I’d humiliate myself for fun? This kid is genuinely something else, so be careful." Boss Jin said anxiously, seeing Scar’s obvious disbelief.
Seeing Boss Jin’s supportive demeanour, Scar believed him a little, but only a little. He still couldn’t quite believe that Xu Ke could truly kick Boss Jin away with one blow.
"Have you finished discussing? Are we going to fight, or are you leaving now?" Xu Ke looked at the two whispering men and lazily asked.
Seeing Xu Ke’s laid-back demeanor, Scar pushed Boss Jin aside, "Stand aside; I want to see just how capable he is," Scar told Boss Jin.
Seeing Scar’s clear disbelief and his desire to confront Xu Ke, Boss Jin let out a long sigh, expressing a sense of resigned wisdom that comes with not heeding the advice of elders.
"Looking at your skinny arms and legs, I find it hard to believe you’re as tough as my brother says," Scar remarked, his eyes lingering on Xu Ke’s legs as if flowers had grown on them.
"If you want to know how strong I am, why don’t you try me?" Xu Ke raised an eyebrow and said.
"Little Xu," The woman, who had stayed in the background, couldn’t help but call out when she saw Xu Ke still provoking the other party, receiving a reassuring look from him in return.
"Don’t worry, Aunt. Even if they all come at me at once, they can’t beat me." Xu Ke’s gaze disdainfully swept over the people, looking particularly contemptuous and aggravating.
Scar was infuriated by Xu Ke’s words and laughed, "I didn’t think someone who looks like a skinny monkey could talk so big," Scar said with a humorless expression.
"You’ll know if I’m bragging or not once you’ve tried. Don’t you find standing around talking tough incredibly dull?" Xu Ke said impatiently, pursing his lips.
Scar’s lackeys, angered by Xu Ke’s expression, unconsciously stepped forward as if ready to teach Xu Ke a lesson, but Scar stopped them.
"You all stay put. Let me have a go with him and see how skilled she really is," Scar said, smiling cruelly at Xu Ke.
Scar’s lackeys, seeing his expression, knew he was angry and serious, so they withdrew, leaving the field to Scar and keeping a distant view, gloating and expecting Xu Ke to be taught a life lesson.
They believed their boss could teach this guy a lesson, showing Xu Ke just how harsh reality and societal beatings could be.
Scar took off his jacket and tossed it to one of his lackeys, rotating his neck as he walked toward Xu Ke.
"I wonder if you can handle my punch." The man showed Xu Ke his fist, which looked like a massive fist that could deal a lot of pain, yet Xu Ke showed no fear and even smiled slightly.
"Why do you always blabber on and on, can’t you just start? You know you’re really annoying with all this chatter." Xu Ke’s face showed impatience, his tone equally so, as if he couldn’t understand why his opponent had to talk so much nonsense—it was truly baffling.
This attitude and tone were like a massive slap across Scar’s face, causing murmurs of surprise and quiet conversations amongst the onlookers, shedding the usual fear they felt towards Scar and his crew, which was both baffling and infuriating for Scar and his lackeys, making them feel that Xu Ke was seriously ungrateful, deserving a proper beating to teach him a lesson.
Xu Ke, although unsure of their thoughts, could see from their expressions that nothing good was brewing in their minds but paid it no mind, as none could match him in strength—their schemes were nothing more than paper tigers, negligible and insignificant.
