The bodyguard looked at Yu Xia’s thin face and hesitated, his blows were soft.

"Didn’t you eat? Hit her, hit her hard." Mother Wei pointed her sharp manicured nail at Yu Xia’s face, speaking in a sharp tone.

On the other side, Lin Mengyao, also restrained by bodyguards, saw the blood at the corner of Yu Xia’s mouth, her eyes reddened, and tears flowed uncontrollably.

"Target me with whatever you have, don’t hit her, do you hear me! Stop it! I’m telling you to stop!" Lin Mengyao shouted loudly.

"Hit her. Why not? I didn’t tell you to stop, so keep hitting her." Mother Wei glanced at Yu Xia and then at the sobbing Lin Mengyao, speaking triumphantly.

"You think you can just tell me to stop and I will? Who do you think you are? My son suffered all those damages in your family’s hands; you think it’s that simple to be done with it? Let me tell you, no one bullies my son without paying tenfold, a hundredfold."

Mother Wei spoke as she walked towards Lin Mengyao, raising her hand and giving her a slap, her expression showing satisfaction.

"Don’t think just because you have the Xu Family backing you, you can swagger around Shangjing. You should know there’s always someone better; the Xu Family is nothing to me. Hurt my son, and expect retaliation." Mother Wei shook her aching palm as she spoke.

"Today is just a small lesson. If you are sensible, apologize to my son and make him happy enough to forgive you. Our Wei Family might let this go and let you off." While saying this, Mother Wei raised her chin high, leaving only her nostrils visible to Lin Mengyao.

"But if you continue to be so ungrateful and obstinate, I’ll make you regret coming into this world. Everything the Xu Family now has, I’ll destroy. I’ll make you scurry away from Shangjing like street rats." Mother Wei threatened.

"Oh really? I didn’t know since when the Wei Family gained such ability to dethrone us Xu Family from our current status and make us scurry out of Shangjing in disgrace. I’m very curious as to where you get such confidence?" Xu Ke, with a stern face and a violent air in his eyes, walked in from outside the shop.

Entering the scene, he saw Yu Xia’s face covered in blood and passed out, and Lin Mengyao being held back, with a slap mark on her face.

"If you’d like to keep your hands, you’d better let go now." Xu Ke slightly moved his lips looking coldly at the two bodyguards.

"Let me tell you, if you don’t apologize to my son now and make him happy enough to forgive you, the feud between the Wei Family and the Xu Family won’t end. Let’s see if a money-tainted businessman like you wins, or our Wei Family wins. You have only one chance, if you don’t treasure it, I assure you, you’ll regret it for the rest of your life." Mother Wei said harshly.

Lin Mengyao, with swollen eyes, shook her head, "I’m fine, but Xiaxia was severely tortured by them. We need to get Xiaxia to the hospital quickly. I’m so worried about her; she’s like this because of me." Lin Mengyao clutched Xu Ke’s sleeve tightly.

"Quickly, to the nearest hospital here."

Seeing that Lin Mengyao seemed alright, Xu Ke attempted to head to the hospital, but Mother Wei and her bodyguards blocked the way.
