Chapter 1871 - 1934: Beware of Snakes
Chapter 1871 - 1934: Beware of Snakes
The tiger wasn’t interested in him, and Li Yifei wasn’t particularly interested in the tiger either. The Siberian tiger is already an endangered species, but there are around a couple of thousand in the world, maybe even more. Li Yifei didn’t want to eat tiger meat, so after a few glances, he prepared to leave. At this moment, a similarly large lion emerged from the rocks on the right, its appearance unmistakably that of a male lion, which quickly leapt onto the rocks.Li Yifei stopped, wondering if these jungle kings and grassland overlords would fight when put together...
However, Li Yifei made a miscalculation. These two creatures seemed to be very familiar with each other. The lion jumped onto the big rock, and the Siberian tiger grumbled twice in dissatisfaction but moved aside a bit, making room for the lion. The lion then lay down, squeezing together with the Siberian tiger.
Perhaps feeling somewhat cramped, the Siberian tiger grumbled twice more in dissatisfaction, but the lion rubbed its head against it, and the discontented sounds ceased.
"So... they’re good friends after all!" Li Yifei scratched his forehead, feeling a bit itchy. He knew that one couldn’t rely on common sense here, just like in that formation in Vietnam, with those giant pigs, enormous pythons, and the exceptionally smart monkey.
The two creatures weren’t interested in Li Yifei either, merely squinting their eyes at him. Once Li Yifei confirmed there was no danger, he prepared to find another place to explore. He saw a rock with some words engraved: Lion and Tiger Park. There were no fences or barriers around, which made Li Yifei suspicious for a while. He then realized there was a formation barrier here, invisible to the human eye but tangible to the touch. When he reached his hand out, it was indeed stopped halfway.
This was a grand setup, definitely a big setup, no wonder there was no fear of these two creatures running wild or eating the smaller animals.
As Li Yifei was thinking, he had already reached the other side, and there he didn’t see any animals.
"What are you doing here?" A cool voice came, and Li Yifei immediately turned around, seeing Su Lio standing diagonally above him, about five or six meters away. Her pale and somewhat sickly face bore no expression. She wore an outfit resembling Han clothing, her black hair cascading like a waterfall over her shoulders, with a headband tied around her forehead. If he didn’t know this was the real world, Li Yifei might have thought she was a fox spirit from the mountains because she really looked like it. Well, mainly because she was beautiful, which made her look like some kind of monster.
In Su Lio’s arms was a little tiger — no, it didn’t quite look like a tiger, more like a young lion. Li Yifei wondered if it might be the offspring of those two creatures from earlier.
He shook his head and was about to speak when he saw a head suddenly emerge from a large tree behind Su Lio, a head as big as a bowl, followed by a long body.
A venomous snake! Li Yifei’s heart tightened. He didn’t have time to warn Su Lio because the snake was already hissing, stealthily creeping above Su Lio’s head. The front half of its body slowly coiled, while the rear half was still out of sight — the snake’s body must have been over two meters long.
Li Yifei’s feet moved, and he dashed forward.
Su Lio’s face showed surprise, and she wanted to speak but was too late. Li Yifei lunged over and hugged her.
At that moment, Su Lio thought Li Yifei intended to act inappropriately towards her, to do something bad here. Unfortunately, her body was inherently weak, functioning normally like most people when not ill — she could run and jump. But she was far weaker compared to Li Yifei, especially as Li Yifei had lunged swiftly, encircling her waist directly. Su Lio’s body lost control and fell backward.
The young lion-tiger beast in her arms jumped out, sparing Li Yifei the task of saving it. Naturally, Li Yifei wouldn’t let Su Lio fall to the ground. As soon as he made contact, he had already identified a landing spot, exchanging positions mid-air so Li Yifei’s body was beneath and Su Lio was on top of him.
With a thud, Li Yifei landed on the ground, yet one foot had already kicked out because the snake lunged into an attack. The kick hit the snake’s head, sending its body flying.
"Uh..." Su Lio groaned in pain, her hands supporting herself on Li Yifei’s body. The impact seemed to sprain her wrist. The next second, she shouted, "What are you doing?"
"I’m... saving you!" Li Yifei replied, having kicked away the snake, and with Su Lio safe, he released his hold, saying, "Stand up first; there was a snake trying to bite you just now!"
Hearing this, Su Lio’s face changed too. She had been afraid of snakes since childhood, and snakes were common animals while living in the mountains. But there shouldn’t be any on this back mountain because she was so afraid that snakes had been removed. Hearing the news, her body shivered.
"Don’t be afraid, I’m here," Li Yifei casually comforted her.
Su Lio gritted her teeth, her hands pressing against Li Yifei’s chest as she slowly stood up. Though afraid of snakes, she hurried to locate traces of the snake. If found, it would prove Li Yifei wasn’t trying to take advantage intentionally. If not found... then there’d be a problem with this person’s character.
After all, just a moment ago, they were in an embrace without anything between them, Su Lio’s chest was directly pressed against Li Yifei’s chest. She was wearing very little, having chosen this particular outfit today, without even wearing a bra underneath, just a tube top.
Seeing Su Lio stand up without even a thank you, Li Yifei rolled his eyes. He was just about to say something when he saw Su Lio, who was about to walk away, suddenly tilt her body and lunge forward. This time it wasn’t Li Yifei’s fault; she had stepped on her dress, causing her to fall forward. In front of her was a large stone, and she cried out in alarm, squeezing her eyes shut in fear.
Li Yifei acted without thinking. He slammed his right hand onto the ground beneath him, propelling himself into the air. While twisting his body mid-air, his other hand struck the ground again. With these combined forces, Li Yifei shot forward once more.
In mid-air, Li Yifei stretched his arm like a gibbon and caught Su Lio’s slender waist, pulling her into his embrace once more. Then... with a thud, Li Yifei became a human cushion for the second time. This time, he was rather unlucky as his back landed on that sharp stone. The combined weight of him and Su Lio, along with the forward momentum, made him let out a muffled groan.
A few seconds later, Su Lio, who had thought she would hit her head badly, opened her eyes, trembling slightly. She had felt Li Yifei hold her while her eyes were closed, but could he have saved her?
Upon opening her eyes, Su Lio realized Li Yifei had indeed saved her this time, at least she was lying on him now.
"Stop staring, get up now!" Li Yifei patted Su Lio, indicating she could stand. However, his hand landed in an incorrect spot. He felt the elasticity and softness as he patted. Damn, was he patting... her butt?
Su Lio had been about to say thank you, but those two pats from Li Yifei made her eyes widen immediately. Her body felt electrified, and her face turned stern as she said, "What are you doing?"
"It was an accident!" Li Yifei grinned sheepishly, appearing innocent as he said, "I didn’t do it on purpose."
"You did it on purpose!" Su Lio said with a mixture of grief and anger.
"Can we not discuss this now? I think you should get up from my arms first. Of course, if you’re comfortable like this, that’s up to you." Li Yifei opened his arms wide, ensuring he wouldn’t accidentally touch Su Lio again.
Hearing this, Su Lio immediately realized she was still lying on Li Yifei and quickly tried to support herself up. Just then, an angry voice sounded: "You beast, let her go now!"
Su Lio turned her head as if shocked by electricity, and Li Yifei also looked over to see a man angrily rushing up with a stick in hand, which he must have picked up somewhere. Li Yifei recognized this man as Ma Han’s son, whom he had met in the garden earlier.
Su Lio hastily tried to get up, but her wrist had been twisted earlier. In her urgency, she pressed against Li Yifei’s chest, causing more pain, and then... she fell into his arms once more.
Li Yifei coughed and said, "Don’t move, I’ll help you up."
With that, he exerted force with his waist, pulling Su Lio up. This action caused Su Lio to straddle his leg. If using a term, it would be the posture of Guanyin Sitting on the Lotus. Despite telling himself not to have wild thoughts, their bodies were tightly pressed together. Especially with Su Lio still in that outfit, sitting on Li Yifei’s leg, she was indeed wearing nothing underneath—no, at least she had underwear, but that was just a thin layer of fabric. As for Li Yifei... he wasn’t wearing much either, just underwear and pants.
After sitting like that for a few more seconds, Li Yifei feared he might have a physical reaction.
Su Lio, having lived so long, apart from sitting on her grandfather’s lap as a child and on the laps of the two uncles, Wang Chao and Ma Han, never sat on another man’s lap. At this moment... she found herself on Li Yifei’s lap, feeling overwhelming shame. The more she wanted to get up, the more she found herself unable to, as if her body had lost its strength.
Beside them, Su Tong felt his heart shatter. He rushed in front of them, wanting to hit Li Yifei with the stick and kill him on the spot. But there was Su Lio sitting on him, and in such a position that Su Tong couldn’t bring himself to swing the stick. Seeing this scene, Su Tong felt his heart contract painfully.
In the Su Family, Su Lio was the apple of their eye and the person everyone adored. They all knew about her condition, which wasn’t a secret. Among her peers, there were at least ten in the Su Family, both boys and girls, who cared deeply for Su Lio. Among these boys, some were particularly doting on her, like Wang Chao’s son, who would bring Su Lio many gifts every time he returned from a trip. Su Tong, who studied abroad, was the same.
But it wasn’t just because they cherished Su Lio. Su Tong harbored a deep desire in his heart, which was... he liked Su Lio. The more he looked at her, the more he liked her, to the point of barely being able to stand it. However, he also knew she was his grandfather’s dearest, while he was Ma Han’s son, belonging to a different generation from Su Lio.
