Chapter 187: Falling In Love
Chapter 187: Falling In Love
It could be a cafe, a sightseeing spot nearby, or simply a bold excuse for us to be together in private. Whatever it was, he would make sure that we could get away.
“That sounds wonderful. Let’s go...” I replied without any hesitation.
Our little escape alone together was nicknamed ‘the lovebirds rendezvous’ by the staff who teased us about it. At first, our little private escapes did not live up to the name that it was given at all. They were just time that I could get away and blow off steam, usually by complaining to Bradon. A week in, things started to change.
“It’s windy. Should we sit inside?” Bradon asked casually.
“I would rather sit outside,” I replied.
I sat down on a bench right in front of a cafe where there was a little garden that I thought was adorably decorated. Bradon sat down beside me as he naturally wrapped an arm around my shoulder. It was indeed windy, but his body heat against mine felt comfortingly warm.
“Are you cold?” he asked.
“I’m fine...” I replied a little stiffly.
Suddenly, Bradon wrapped out his arms around my body and pulled me closer against him. I blinked a few times as I wondered why he was hugging me so tightly. It didn’t feel bad and it didn’t feel sexual. The warmth of his embrace made me believe that I may have been cold.
“Why are you hugging me?” I asked.
“I’m cold...” he replied.
I knew that he was lying but I decided not to call him out on it. There was no way that he was feeling cold given how warm his body was compared to mine. It was windy but it was far from being freezing cold.
“Why are you being so nice to me? No one else is around,” I asked straightforwardly.
“Why can’t I be nice to you?” He replied to my question with another question.
Because no one is nice to me unless they want something from me in return. It was a simple answer that I didn’t want to voice out loud. The truth can be sad and depressing.
“Answer me. Why are you being nice to me?” I asked suspiciously.
I placed my hands against his chest and pushed softly against it to bring some distance between us. When I peered up into his face, his blue eyes looked so beautiful and as clear as the cloudless sky.
“Because I want to be,” he replied without any further explanation.
“Why?” I asked blankly.
“Why not?” he asked.
It felt like I was going to end up answering more of his questions than he would be answering mine. I narrowed my eyes suspiciously at him as a warning. Bradon seemed completely unfazed by my reaction.
“Because it’s strange and very suspicious,” I replied bluntly.
“Are you scared?” he asked before his lips curved into what I thought was a very charming smile.
For the uncountable time, I noted to myself just how attractive I found his face, his smile, his eyes, and his body. Perhaps that was something that I should be scared of. My lips curved into a smile at the entertaining thought. If I found Anthony pleasing to the eyes, there was no good reason why I should find Bradon any less attractive.
“What do I have to be scared of?” I asked with a shrug of my shoulders.
“Falling for me,” he stated as his eyes continued to observe my reactions.
Fall for him? Me?
I cocked my head to the side as I raised an eyebrow upward in pure wonder. Bradon had a teasing look in his eyes but I couldn’t help but wonder if there was a part of him that was serious.
“You mean...me? Fall in love with...you?” I asked as I tried to wrap my mind around his words.
Bradon nodded his head slightly and I felt an uncomfortable tremor in my chest. I wasn’t sure what triggered such a crazy and unrealistic thought to cross his mind and I couldn’t quite believe that someone like Bradon was talking about love, and to me of all people.
“You’re being nice to me and saying this because you just want to have sex with me, right?” I asked as I also watched his reaction intently.
“Is that what you honestly think?” he asked.
Why else would he be nice to me? It wasn’t like I had anything to offer. If I enjoyed having sex with him, then I guess he must have noticed by now just how compatable our bodies were as lovers.
“Why else? Is there another reason that you’re being extra nice to me even when no one else is around?” I asked as I widened my eyes at him.
I brought my face closer to his as I waited for his response. Bradon stared back at me in complete silence. My abrupt question must have caught him off guard and I found that I was enjoying teasing him and getting back at him. If being close to him while we acted our roles could confuse me and my feelings, then why wouldn’t it have the same effects on him as well?
“Don’t tell me...have you fallen in love with me?” I asked before smiling knowingly at him.
I giggled softly as I relished in the satisfaction of being able to turn the tables on him by using the same question that he had asked me.
“Mhmm...” I made a sound in my throat when his lips were suddenly on mine.
My eyes widened in surprise when Bradon suddenly kissed my lips. I had to say that I didn’t see it coming but the feeling of his lips on mine warmed my body up even better than being held in his arms. He crushed his lips firmly against mine as he kissed me repeatedly. His tongue sought entry into my mouth and he took advantage of my moment of surprise to thrust his tongue deftly between my lips.
“Hmm...” I moaned into our kiss as our tongues danced passionately together.
