Chapter 969: Thinking About An Alliance
Chapter 969: Thinking About An Alliance
Han Yu felt his thoughts becoming clearer the more they spoke.
The alliance with Madam Cold Fang had begun as something born from circumstance and danger. Yet now that they had actually spoken openly, he realized something important.
She was exactly what he lacked.
History.
Perspective.
Knowledge hidden beneath the Blood Sect’s censorship.
Han Yu had influence inside the sect. He had his Jiangshi network. He had Chitterfang and the rat battalions. He had Qing Luan and the hidden businesses spreading through the continent.
And most of all he had his companions.
But when he imagined standing against the Slaughtered Moon Divine Blood Sect one day... It still felt insufficient.
The sect had ruled the Blood Continent for hundreds of thousands of years.
It had generations of experts.
Hidden forces.
Ancient inheritances.
Unknown cards.
Even Lady Rot Rose probably only knew a fraction of what truly lay beneath the surface.
Han Yu needed allies.
A lot of them.
He looked at Madam Cold Fang.
"Can I ask for more information?" Han Yu said.
She looked over.
"What information?"
Han Yu’s eyes narrowed slightly.
"You cannot be the only enemy the Blood Sect has."
The woman remained silent.
Han Yu continued.
"They ruled this continent for hundreds of thousands of years. They exterminated clans, they stole inheritances, and they suppressed races. There is no way everyone disappeared."
He shook his head.
"They only went into hiding."
Madam Cold Fang listened quietly.
Han Yu spread his hands.
"You are the best example."
Her expression shifted slightly.
"You survived."
"Your clan survived."
"Hidden... but alive."
He looked directly at her.
"So I want to know."
"Are there others?"
The wind blew through the snow. Madam Cold Fang fell silent as she knew this information was dangerous.
Extremely dangerous.
Revealing such things could doom entire clans.
Entire bloodlines.
If Ju Fan betrayed them... The consequences would be catastrophic.
She looked at him for a long while.
Then finally sighed.
"I do know."
Han Yu straightened.
"Quite a few."
She looked toward the north.
"I will start with my own people."
Han Yu listened carefully.
"The Frost Bat Clan was destroyed." Madam Cold Fang began. "But several children were sealed using the Endless Frost Tomb Art."
Her eyes dimmed slightly.
"Not all survived. Some awakened too early, some never awakened while some perished while sleeping."
She paused.
"There are eleven pure blooded Frost Bats left."
Han Yu blinked.
"Only eleven?"
"Yes."
"And what do you mean by pure blooded?"
Madam Cold Fang explained calmly.
"The children that survived eventually gathered again. They married and had descendants. And as time passed, our blood diluted."
Han Yu understood immediately.
"So there is a mixed blood clan?"
"There is."
"How many?"
"Around three thousand."
Han Yu actually looked surprised.
Three thousand was not a small number.
Especially for a hidden clan.
"How have you hidden all this time?" he asked. "Another Spatial Realm?" He wondered.
Madam Cold Fang shook her head.
"No."
"The Smiling Spring was the only Spatial Realm related to our people."
"It no longer exists."
She looked northward again.
"We hide on an island deep in the polar region where the sea freezes year round and storms surround it. As such even cultivators of the Blood Sect and others avoid it."
Han Yu nodded slowly.
"No wonder..."
The place sounded perfect.
"What are they like?" he asked.
Madam Cold Fang actually smiled faintly.
"The mixed blood descendants still retain some traits. Some have frost affinity, some have enhanced hearing and a few awaken partial transformations. Though the strongest bloodlines can still grow wings."
Han Yu raised a brow.
"Wings?"
"Yes."
"Though small ones."
He suddenly imagined thousands of tiny bat wings.
Madam Cold Fang looked at his expression.
"It is not amusing."
"It is a little amusing."
She ignored him.
"What about the others?" Han Yu asked.
This time her expression became serious.
"There are several."
She waved her hand.
Cold mist gathered and formed images.
The first image showed mountains.
Jagged peaks.
Lightning flashing constantly.
"The Thunderclap Clan."
Han Yu immediately remembered.
"The cannons?"
Madam Cold Fang nodded.
"They created them."
Han Yu stared.
"The Thunderclap Cannons were invented by them?"
"Yes."
Her eyes sharpened.
"Long ago they were master artificers and formation masters. They forged weapons capable of threatening stronger cultivators. The Blood Sect wanted their techniques."
"So they attacked?"
"They resisted."
The mist image changed.
Han Yu saw burning mountains.
Broken towers.
Cannons firing.
Lightning.
"The clan was shattered."
"Most died."
"The survivors fled underground."
"Now they disguise themselves as ordinary craftsmen."
Han Yu listened carefully.
"They still possess their inheritance?"
"Partially."
"The Thunderclap Cannons."
"Lightning Array Plates."
"Sky Shattering Bolts."
"Mobile siege formations."
Han Yu immediately understood their value.
Terrifying.
No wonder Madam Cold Fang reacted earlier.
The next image formed.
A dense forest appeared.
Massive trees reached the clouds.
"This is the Verdant Vein Clan."
Han Yu looked interested.
"They were wood spirit cultivators. Masters of life energy, alchemists, healers and beast tamers."
"The Blood Sect slaughtered them for longevity methods."
Han Yu frowned.
"What happened?"
"They hid."
"Today they pretend to be ordinary herbal clans. They are spread across several settlements. No one realizes they belong to the same bloodline."
Han Yu nodded.
Smart.
Very smart.
"Their specialty?"
"Longevity medicines, Wood spirit techniques, And special plant cultivation methods. They can grow spirit herbs far faster than normal cultivators."
Han Yu’s eyes brightened.
Useful.
Very useful.
The mist changed again.
This time Han Yu saw deserts.
Sandstorms.
Strange stone structures.
"The Ash Vein Clan."
Han Yu listened.
"They cultivated earth and fire together. They were geomancers and could read spiritual veins. They were expert at finding hidden mines and moving natural earth currents."
Han Yu immediately thought of mining.
And wealth.
Madam Cold Fang continued.
"The Blood Sect used them and eventually they rebelled. But the rebellion failed so the survivors became wandering clans. They move constantly and have no permanent homes."
Han Yu stored the information carefully.
Then another image appeared.
