Strongest Scammer: Scamming The World, One Death At A Time

Chapter 944: Finding The Hidden Mansion

Chapter 944: Finding The Hidden Mansion

After the Informant told Han Yu everything he knew, he left. Han Yu kept on eating and drinking while contacting Chitterfang to find out everything about this Palm Hand Lu.

Within half an hour, the legion of rats had gathered all that he needed and had found the exact location of the Mansion hidden in the jungle as well. Since it was just a hundred kilometers away, Han Yu quickly flew over while using an Illusory Talisman to hide his presence.

Once there, Han Yu could still not see anything and his spirit sense didn’t detect anything either.

"Chitterfang, where are the children that found this place?" Han Yu asked through their mental connection.

"I’m sending them over right now, master." Chitterfang replied immediately.

Han Yu remained hovering in the air while maintaining the concealment talisman around himself. The forest below looked completely ordinary. Dense vines covered ancient trunks while hanging roots and broad leaves obscured most of the ground.

Nothing about this place looked unusual.

Yet Han Yu trusted Chitterfang’s network far more than appearances.

About a minute later, several small shapes emerged from the canopy below.

Three rats climbed onto the branches.

The first was tiny and brown with a missing ear. The second had white fur around its nose while the third had an absurdly round belly that made Han Yu wonder how it even climbed trees.

The fat rat squeaked proudly while Chitterfang translated for Han Yu.

"Master! We found it!"

Han Yu descended slowly.

"Show me."

The three immediately jumped down the trees and began running through the undergrowth.

Han Yu followed behind them while extending his spirit sense cautiously.

He checked every meter ahead.

Trees.

Roots.

Normal spirit plants.

Nothing strange.

Yet the rats kept moving confidently.

After several hundred meters, they finally stopped near a massive old tree whose roots rose from the earth like coiled serpents.

The smallest rat climbed onto one of the roots and tapped it repeatedly.

Han Yu frowned.

A second later the air before him distorted.

Ripples spread outward.

The forest flickered.

An enormous Formation Array suddenly revealed itself.

Han Yu’s eyes narrowed.

"Huh... it was here all along."

His spirit sense spread again.

This time he could finally perceive the fluctuations.

"A High Grade Spirit Sense Obscuring Formation has been added to this," Han Yu muttered quietly. "No wonder I failed to notice it immediately."

The hidden array stretched across several hundred meters.

It blended perfectly into the natural spiritual flow of the forest. The formation lines were buried underground while several spirit gathering nodes were disguised as tree roots.

Even Han Yu had almost missed it.

Palm Hand Lu was indeed not simple.

Either the man possessed significant attainments in formations himself or someone under him did. Han Yu prepared to step forward, but suddenly the round rat squeaked loudly and stood before him.

It shook its head.

Han Yu paused. "What?"

The second rat ran toward the old tree root and began tapping several different places upon it.

First it pressed a protruding knot in the bark.

Then an old scar on the trunk.

Next it climbed upward and nudged a bent branch.

Finally, it pulled down a dried leaf hanging from the side.

The moment the last point was touched, the hidden formation changed.

SHUA

A narrow opening appeared.

A gate.

Han Yu raised his brows.

"So there’s a password."

The rats squeaked proudly.

Han Yu immediately understood.

Someone from the estate had passed through before while the rats were observing.

They had memorized the sequence.

He looked at the three rodents again.

"You really are useful."

The fat rat puffed its chest proudly.

Through the mental connection Chitterfang’s smug voice arrived immediately.

"My Third Battalion is elite, master."

Han Yu ignored the self praise.

Instead, he looked through the opening.

The scene inside finally revealed itself.

The hidden forest vanished.

Beyond the barrier stood an enormous estate. Several buildings were arranged across a wide clearing while stone paths connected them. Spirit lamps hung beneath the eaves and cultivation arrays pulsed beneath the ground.

Patrols moved through the compound. Watchtowers stood at the edges. Several hidden fluctuations told Han Yu there were concealed guards as well. This was far beyond a private residence.

It looked closer to a hidden faction headquarters.

Han Yu narrowed his eyes.

Palm Hand Lu had become even more suspicious.

The two little creatures puffed up their chests, their whiskers twitching happily as though asking for praise.

Han Yu crouched slightly and rubbed their heads.

"You did well."

The two rats squeaked excitedly and immediately straightened up even more.

Through his connection he could already feel Chitterfang’s smug emotions coming over.

"See master? My children are very capable." Chitterfang spoke proudly. "Third Battalion’s infiltration division is among the best now. Tiny Fang over there once hid inside a merchant caravan for six whole days."

The rat in question puffed its chest harder.

Han Yu glanced at the tiny grey creature.

"...Why?"

The rat squeaked happily.

Chitterfang translated immediately.

"It says there were dried fish."

Han Yu fell silent.

Of course there were.

A few seconds later, Chitterfang gave another update.

"Master, Palm Hand Lu is inside right now."

"Location?"

"Main building. Third floor."

"How many guards?"

"Thirty seven humans. Four beasts. One very angry monkey."

Han Yu blinked.

"...Monkey?"

"Yes. Large one. Keeps chasing my children."

Han Yu already felt a headache coming.

"Tell the battalion to avoid provoking it."

"It was not our fault," Chitterfang defended immediately. "Little Round stole fruit only once."

One indignant squeak came from somewhere nearby.

Han Yu decided not to ask.

They continued forward for another ten minutes until the rats finally stopped beneath a cluster of thick roots near the side buildings.

One rat pointed ahead.

Han Yu looked.

A stone building stood apart from the others.

No windows.

Heavy doors.

Multiple formation inscriptions.

And two guards outside.

The corpse storage.

Han Yu’s eyes narrowed.

Thankfully, Palm Hand Lu had indeed preserved the bodies. That saved him considerable trouble.
