Chapter 350: Space and Time
Chapter 350: Space and Time
The Space Nova understood by the second time that the Nova before him was playing some sort of time shenanigan on him. Zern had told them a few powers that Time Nova had, but none of them had been this sort of powers.
Wasn’t he only supposed to be super strong and super fast, and be able to predict the future? How was he using teleportation powers? Or were these not teleportation powers?
He knew at that point that he couldn’t run away, so he decided to send the Time Nova away instead.
Stanley foresaw the silver light surrounding not his sword, but rather himself this time. He quickly ran to the side, getting away from the railings toward the larger area in front of his room and still the light followed.
He knew he was going to get sent somewhere away, and unlike the man before him, he could not reverse time on himself.
’I’m getting teleported away,’ Stanley thought. ’This silver light, it’s the thing that...’
Stanley barely had a hint of an idea in his mind when he implemented it without even thinking about it. Because he could see the light, he decided to stop it.
He stopped the flow of energy. As he froze entropy itself at that moment, the power that was there to teleport him could not send him away. Instead, it stayed around him, frozen completely.
Stanley hadn’t known he could do something like that.
He moved away and was surprised to see the glowing energy get left behind in the space where he had been before. He simply passed through it.
The Space Nova had his mind blown by what he was seeing. He couldn’t understand just what the hell was happening.
He couldn’t teleport Stanley away and he couldn’t teleport away himself. Did that mean he had to stay and fight?
Stanley was about to move to attack when he suddenly felt something. It wasn’t just him, the Space Nova just felt something as well.
They both looked at each other and realized that they had just gained nearly thousands upon thousands of souls in both of them. They had been feeling a few here and there all throughout the past half an hour, but this was the first time they had felt something this big.
Had tens of thousands of people died at the exact same time? No, that was impossible given how few people there were. No, something else had happened.
A Nova had died.
A Nova had died, and that too without expending all of their energy. This was the first time either of them were feeling something like that.
Stanley wondered who had died. Gray was fighting at the side, so was it Stella? He hoped it wasn’t her, but he couldn’t be certain.
He ignored the intense amount of joy he felt at that very moment from the energy he acquired, and looked toward the Space Nova who he had to kill.
The Space Nova looked at him as well, knowing there was no getting out of this.
Stanley dashed forward and the Space Nova immediately froze the space around him, stopping him entirely without the ability to move.
Stanley could feel the space as if it were a physical object and reversed it. The space went back to flowing normally and they dodged just in time as the Space Nova threw out the invisible slash.
Something opened to the side of the Nova as he pulled out items. He wore a shield around him and took two guns which he started shooting at Stanley with.
Stanley dodged each attack having seen the future and how it was going to work.
The two fought back and forth, neither of them getting another chance to get a hit in on the other person.
"GRAY!"
A voice shouted from 2 floors above Stanley. He recognized the director’s voice. He didn’t know what was happening, but it seemed he was alive.
The Space Nova was distracted for only a second before he quickly threw himself back into the fight, focusing entirely on not getting hurt.
He caught Stanley between two Space walls and before he could get rid of them, he threw a spatial slash that went right in between the two.
Stanley could barely move, but he could put his sword in front of him. The attack landed on the sword, and as always, it exploded, sending out a spatial shockwave.
Stanley felt pain this time around as if his lungs were collapsing and opening at the same time.
Stanley fell to the ground, in pain, but he slowly got back up just in time to dodge another attack.
Then, the two of them felt another burst of energy flow into them. It was weaker than the last time, but still a significant amount for either of them to not know what had happened.
Another Nova had died.
The Space Nova looked down the side of his railing and was shocked to see the charred remains of the Fire Nova. He couldn’t believe she had died.
And at the same time, Stanley got up and rushed toward him. He threw his sword just before he saw himself get put into another space lock, and the sword flew right toward the man until it stopped where the space wall was and hovered.
Stanley, completely frozen in space, looked at where the sword was, understood the location of the Space wall, and worked to destroy it.
"Getting rid of the only thing saving your life until now," the Space Nova shouted. "You must be desperate."
Sheila appeared right before the man, her gun to his chest, and said, "No, he’s just smart."
Then she shot him.
The Space Nova grabbed space to fold it around himself, but the attack was so quick that he barely managed to save his vitals.
He was still hit in the right side of his chest, his mind in disarray.
That was when Stanley arrived with his sword, and without any hesitation, decapitated him.
