Chapter 334: Fireheart
Chapter 334: Fireheart
Stanley felt danger at that very moment and twisted his head just in time for a bullet to pass by him. He turned to look at the person who had shot him and stopped time for the gun.
He dashed up to the next and punched them to the side of their body. A shield appeared to protect them, but it could not dampen all the momentum. The punch managed to push the person to the railing, and further, they fell nearly 20 floors to the lava at the bottom.
He looked down again and saw that someone had already gone down to fight the woman. He worried for the man but realized that the person who went was Gray.
Stanley knew he could rely on Gray and went to help the people on the Engineering floor.

Gray turned the aura that permanently surrounded him into an insulator. Despite stepping onto the lava itself, because of the aura that was between him and his feet, he felt no heat.
Screams had filled the lobby of the building just a moment prior, but there were none of them anymore. People that had appeared here somehow and people that had been here before had all burned to death long ago.
Gray understood that much from the souls he felt go into him. So many people had died in a matter of seconds, all because they burned on top of the lava.
He looked at the red-haired woman before him, his orange visor hiding the emotions in his eyes. "I believe I only learned about you moments ago. What was your name again? Something Fire, right?"
The Fire Nova raised an eyebrow. "Emilia Fireheart," she said. "And I believe I know about you too, Aura Nova."
"Seriously, you people need to stop knowing all about me," Gray said. "It’s frankly terrifying how much you know."
"Well, it’s not I who knew about you. It was Zern," she said.
"The man I killed?" Gray asked.
"Killed? Oh, you sweet, naive boy. You cannot kill Zern. Nobody can kill Zern," the woman said.
Gray frowned a little. "I am certain I twisted his head beyond healing. We even got his corpse," he said.
"Sure, but that doesn’t mean he’s dead," the woman said. "Zern is a little... weird of a man. Although, I would ask you to get concerned for yourself in this fight. Alas, you will have to die to my hand."
Gray grinned. "If you manage to kill me today, you will be the second person to ever wound me my entire life. I would say the odds are against you."
"We’ll see."
Explosion suddenly took over Gray’s vision, blasting him from all directions. The explosions were like firecrackers, going off one after another, except each one was enough to kill a person standing next to them.
Gray remained unmoved inside of his sphere made of Aura, no shockwave or heat passing through it. He could sense the hounds pound on the outside of the aura, but nothing they did could destroy his aura.
He waited for the fire to subside before looking all around to see if there were other people that were around. Anyone who would come here had long since begun leaving from what he could see.
As soon as she saw that there was no one around, his aura changed shape immediately and turned into sharp spikes that went through all the fire hounds at once.
Not only that, it also went straight through the woman’s head, leaving a gaping hole in her head. She had no defenses to protect herself at all.
Gray sighed as he realized that the woman was not dead at all. In fact, she was grinning from ear to ear.
Fire blossomed within her wound and slowly the hole disappeared as it was completely filled with regrown flesh. The woman’s eyes returned and she looked at Gray.
"You did not think you could get rid of me so easily, did you?" she asked. Her eyes shined at the same time and an explosion appeared right in front of Gray’s sphere.
When it died down, the lava began moving, slowly coming together to become nearly 6 meters tall with giant pillar-like limbs, all dripping molten earth.
"A Lava golem?" Gray asked. "Are you a fire Nova or a Lava Nova?"
"Those are just words. Who cares what others say I am," the woman said. "Are you still going to fight me or are you done?"
Gray’s aura immediately extended, becoming sharp as a blade and cutting through the woman multiple times. Her body fell apart into pieces and began burning on the ground below. But at the same time, the lava moved her body regrew.
The golem came for Gray, slamming its massive fist on top of him, but the aura protected him entirely. Gray changed the property of his aura once again, to not just be completely resistant to heat, but also fully elastic so that the golem ended up taking all of the damage it tried to deal with.
It kept slamming on top of Gray and failed to make any impact.
Gray watched the reforming body of the Fire Nova and immediately extended his aura to cover her in a small sphere as well. Not only did he cover her entirely, but he made sure to have some of the lava trapped inside the sphere as well.
The woman regrew, slightly trapped with the lava beneath her.
She smiled. "Did you think this would kill me?" she asked. "You should know I don’t burn."
That was not what Gray was trying to do. All he wanted was to suffocate her. With the lava inside, the oxygen should soon be burned away until nothing but toxic gases remain inside.
The woman suddenly reached out with her hand and created flames outside of the sphere. The flame took on the shape of a human, then became more detailed to become her entirely.
The woman inside of the sphere instead turned into flames, disappearing immediately and life seemed to fill the one outside.
"You won’t get to trap me so easily either."
For the first time in a long time, Gray frowned because of his opponent. He could not kill her so easily.
