Strongest Nova: Path of Vengeance

Chapter 332: The Analyst Room

Chapter 332: The Analyst Room

Hobb had nothing else to do today, so he watched Caleb work on the AI. There were many things he wanted to know about AI and what it could do.

He had a screen in front of him, showing the many Novas that Caleb had found out about. The many faces were ones he had never really seen before today, at least not while knowing their real identity.

He could not believe that there were so many more Novas that were hidden from everyone else.

There were other Novas aside from these as well. There was the Storm Nova in Wuglos, the Forest Nova Pandene, and the one who called herself a God Nova in Voras.

There were people who worked directly with the governments of those countries and were not allowed to visit any other countries. These Novas were under strict watch at all times to know where they were and what they were doing at all times.

Since the AAA had no jurisdiction over them, all they got were updates about what the Novas were doing.

To the general people, Novas were terrifying beings, who loved nothing more than to kill you. But to a government, they were tools they could use as a threat against other countries should the war ever restart.

And neither of them was aware that there were 5 other Novas walking around with no strings attached to them. They were not aware of the presence of these threats.

He looked at his amputated arm and sighed. "We need to do something about these Novas," he said out loud. "Once that AI is back to functioning properly, have it immediately begin searching for every little hint of where they could be hiding."

"Understood," Caleb said. "It shouldn’t take more than a few—"

Caleb’s words were cut off by the massive blackout that suddenly enveloped everyone. All screens, holograms, and everything else were immediately shut down.

Several shouts rang around the room, confusion filling the air.

"EMP!" someone in the room said and everyone began freaking out at once.

The backup generators returned some power, but only enough to use the lights. Everything else was still unusable.

’We’re under attack,’ Hobb thought.

Caleb used his wristpad and found it still working. "Director, we need to repair the places that the EMP took out," Caleb shouted.

"Everything else is okay?" Hobb asked.

"Communication channels are down, so is everything online, but we have EMP shields around everything else. If someone can go to the basement floors where fuse lines are and replace the broken components for power and communications, we should be good to go again."

Hobb frowned. He needed to get Gray to do the things, but he couldn’t communicate with him. "Find someone who can do—"

Some silver light flickered around them at that moment, and people appeared.

One man appeared close to where Hobb was standing and the moment he saw him, he pulled out his gun.

Hobb was faster. His right arm, which was missing, immediately turned bright red and shot out a large red bullet, enough to tear through the man’s shield and body.

Hobb smashed backward, unable to handle the force of the bullet that came out of his arm.

He had the Shield-breaker bullets they found in Silent Nexus’s headquarters put into the gun in his right arm mere days ago. He hadn’t expected to have to use it so quickly.

He quickly got back up and saw that the room full of analysts had been invaded by fighters who had come with guns and swords. He counted them all and found over 12 people had come into the room.

They could not fight these people.

Hobb sat on a seat, his back braced against something solid as he shot at a woman who was about to shoot Caleb. The bullet tore through not just the woman but also the man that was behind her. They were both killed in a single shot.

"Caleb!" he shouted at the young man who was hiding his face from everyone. Caleb looked up and then toward Hobb. "Go find Gray. We’re under attack."

Caleb was shaken to the core, but he nodded nonetheless and rushed up the stairs to Hobb.

A man in the distance snapped his fingers and suddenly vines grew from the concrete floor, wrapping around Caleb, constricting him.

Hobb jumped toward him and a blazing red blade appeared from within the same arm that cut through the vines immediately. "Go, now."

Caleb noted and rushed up the stairs.

The man snapped once more and the vines reappeared, this wrapping around Hobb. The director tried to cut through it, but his arms were restricted a bit too much.

Seeing that he couldn’t cut through it, Hobb gave up. The blade retracted and his arm became hollow once more, ready to shoot once again.

He used all the muscles in his body to slowly pull his arm toward the man who had used the vines and shot him the moment he came into sight.

The bullet tore through the air, leaving a red blur, and killed the man. The moment the man died, the vine lost all strength and Hobb could push them away to get out of it.

"Director!" Caleb shouted. "The door is stuck. We can’t get out!"

Hobb grimaced at those words. He looked at his arm which was beginning to heat up. The bullets he was shooting were just too powerful and produced a lot of heat. He couldn’t shoot too many of them.

Still, this had to be the last one.

"Move aside!" Hobb shouted and pointed at the door. Caleb moved away just in time and Hobb shot through the door.

The explosion left behind a large enough opening for the young Caleb to slip through.

Caleb arrived outside of the room, into the large walkway that overlooked the massive hall of the organization. He quickly walked up to the railing and looked down to see an orange glow.

The entirety of the ground had been turned into molten lava with flaming beasts running all around.

It was hell itself.
