Strongest Nova: Path of Vengeance

Chapter 324: Silence’s End

Chapter 324: Silence’s End

The reinforcements arrived 2 hours later, and by that time most of everything was already done. There were a few rooms where people were hiding from the assault and they were promptly captured.

People also finally arrived near Stanley’s group and started making preparations to take away the man nicknamed Upgrade.

The man still asked for his own death, but that was not something he was going to get so easily. At least, Stanley assured him that he would be treated like a human once he was away from this place.

They took the man in wraps, so no one had to touch him. The man couldn’t even walk as he hadn’t done so in apparently over 3 years.

For 3 years, the man was tortured to watch people die one after one, outside of either his or their volition. They were brought here like cattle to be slaughtered by him to feed someone else.

Stanley watched Sheila get taken away as well. She was sound asleep by the time everyone had come, so it seemed her powers were going to take a while to evolve.

He wondered what sort of powers they would evolve into.

After a while, Gray came into the room, looking around at the empty place as the servers were beginning to get taken away as well.

"Glad to see you are doing more or less okay," he said.

Stanley raised his left stump and said, "Less for sure, but okay nonetheless."

Gray smiled. "Mind telling me how you are still alive?" he asked. "We were sure you had died in the explosion, but most of us still had doubts."

"I was taken to play in these people’s death game," Stanley answered. "There’s an island about 20 minutes away from here on a carrier where they make the game take place. There might still be people there."

"Oh, I’ll have people check for that immediately," Gray said. "You need to go back and rest. You look tired."

Stanley nodded and walked away, finally ready to go back to the AAA after such a long time.

There were about 6 people still alive in the death game.

One was the dark-skinned man who could create wolves out of the souls of dead people.

The other was Rey, the gorilla, who had burn wounds all over his body from trying to fight the large shield that continuously closed on him.

There was a man who could create fireballs and a woman who could fly in the sky.

Finally, the last two men were in fact the same men. It was a tall handsome man, who had used his power of doppelganger to split himself off.

It was White, the man who claimed he didn’t have any power but was in fact, the person who was most likely to win it all in the end if it hadn’t come to such an abrupt end.

The AAA surveyed the island for anything else they could find there. And to their surprise, or maybe horror, they found something that was going to change the world in more ways than one.

"There’s a WHAT in that island?" Hobb, the director of AAA, asked in surprise, back in the AAA headquarters in Starhall. He looked at the images projected on the screen before him.

An image of a large metal door on the ground opened to reveal a giant underground mining spot from where dull red light glowed out.

Plasmium. That island had a plasmium ore.

"We finally found it," Hobb said, seeming stunned. "After so many years."

The issue with unauthorized guns and shields being sold in the black market had always confused Hobb and many of the officials. Since plasmium was such a tightly recorded item, the fact that some were going missing had been a cause for concern for many people.

No one knew why they were missing at all, but after all these years, he had finally learned the truth. There was another natural deposit of Plasmium.

These people had been mining their own spot all this time.

"No wonder..." Hobb said slowly.

Caleb, the young tech genius, stood next to the director, pulling up some other images, showing the island from more angles. That included a giant machine that could protect the entire island from outsiders.

"We need to get that shield and reverse engineer it immediately," Hobb said. It wasn’t just the shield either. There were guns, explosives, and many other weapons that they had to reverse engineer as soon as they could.

The Silent Nexus seemed to have the backing of many high-ranking individuals in each country, so they had gotten rid of the others.

"And the AI too. We need to get on it as soon as we can," Hobb said.

"I will get on it as soon as I can," Caleb said.

"What’s going on with the others? Any idea when they will be returning?"

"In a month or so," Caleb answered. "They will come back once they’ve taken care of all that they can over there."

"Good," Hobb said. "Now that we’ve gotten rid of the Silent Nexus, we can finally catch a break."

Raven sat in a dark room with a man standing before her.

"Master, did you die again?" she asked.

The man that stood before her was Zern, leader of the Silent Nexus, a man who had his neck broken and killed by Gray. Somehow, he had healed and was before his disciple.

"A Nova of the AAA killed me," he said. "A Nova I was going to raise. I thought he was dead, but it turns out they had taken him away."

"So?" Raven asked.

"So... help me destroy them. I want to kill them all," Zern said. "You want that, don’t you? Imagine it, so many souls and no one to fight you for it."

"I think you are forgetting something, Master. I should have your head for what you did, but given your powers that is impossible. So I will accept an apology." Raven’s eyes grew cold as she said that, the red in her eyes nearly glowing.

The man hesitated. "And... I’m sorry for not telling you about him," he said. "But you have to believe me. He’s a Nova. I couldn’t just let you—"

Shadows dragged him halfway into the floor until just his torso remained over it.

Raven walked over to him and leaned down to grab him by the neck. "You knew he killed my brother. You knew how much I wanted him, and yet you—"

"I can give him to you!" Zern spoke quickly. "I know where he is."

Raven paused. "You do?" she asked.

Zern nodded quickly. "I do. I absolutely do. They took away my AI. They have already messed around with it, but the moment it was booted up the first time, I was transmitted its location. I have their location, in Starhall."

Raven paused. "Then we can attack right now," she said.

"Not yet. Not you alone. They have 3 Novas on their side. You need help as well," Zern said.

"Who can help me?" Raven asked. "How many are there to help me?"

"You would be surprised," Zern said. "Give me a week, and I can get you 4 other Novas."

Raven’s eyes narrowed and she gave a small smile.

"Finally, I will get my revenge."
