Strongest Nova: Path of Vengeance

Chapter 323: Full

Chapter 323: Full

Sheila appeared before all, her power of concealment vanishing all of a sudden. Not only that, she suddenly lost her consciousness and fell to the ground.

"Sheila!" Stanley shouted, rushing to her, and catching her right before she hit the ground. He shook her in a worry and realized that she wasn’t responding.

His heart grew cold in thought that she had died, but she was still breathing. He made sure she was breathing.

"What happened? What did you do?" Stanley screamed at the man.

"I-i-I did nothing," the man said. "S-she touched me. She..."

The man was just as panicked as him as well.

"What is going to happen to her?" Stanley asked, already trying to use his power of Time Reversal on her, but for some reason, it wasn’t waking her up at all.

"She..." the man thought for a long while before breathing a little less haggard. "She... should be fine."

"Should?" Stella asked, getting close to Sheila now.

"I... I was full. She wasn’t hurt," the man said.

Stanley frowned. "What do you mean? She’s unconscious," Stanley said.

"Yes," the man said. "But, she’s fine. She will be fine. I was full."

"What do you mean you were full?" Stanley asked.

"My powers," the man said. "My powers, they were full. They... they killed many people to power me to full, so... so..."

"So?" Stanley asked. "Speak up!"

"So she took with her all of what I had," the man said. "All the deal souls they had me store for the past 3 months. They were going to give it to someone else and..."

Stanley paused for a long second before finally asking him the question he suspected he already had the answer to.

"Did you... just upgrade her power?" he asked.

The man took a long breath and nodded. "Yes."

"So she’s not in danger?" Stanley asked.

"I... don’t think so," the man said. "Everyone who touches me dies immediately when my powers are empty. But anyone who touches me afterward only becomes unconscious. I do not know, however, what happens to them."

He had seen what happened to them. Nova had been one of the people that had been empowered by him.

Stanley sighed a breath of relief and sat back down. "What now?" one of the men at the back asked.

Stanley thought for a bit. "We need to report this," he said. "The servers are off. Can you check if you can communicate again?"

"Alright, let me see," one of the men said and quickly used his wrist pad. "Yes! Yes, it’s here."

He quickly got close to show him, but Stanley put his hands up to stop him. "Don’t get too close. We don’t know what will happen with him."

The man on the bed slowly nodded. "My powers are gone," he said. "So anyone with a power that touches me below my elbow, skin to skin, will die. I will absorb their soul."

The man took the long way around to Stanley, showing the wrist pad to him. The communications were back online so they could quickly contact everyone around the ship and beyond. The locations of where everyone was was hidden, but they could talk to them.

Stanley saw that Gray was close by as well, so he had the man send him a call.

"Hey! You guys managed to get the communication online?" Gray’s voice came from the other side, along with a bit of shouting in the background. He seemed to be in the middle of something.

"Yes, sir Gray. We—"

"Gray! It’s me, Stanley," Stanley quickly spoke.

"Stanley?" Gray’s voice came with an incredulous tone attached to it. "Holy shit! You are alive? How the hell are you alive?"

"Later. We found the server room and we also found the person who upgrades other people’s powers. Sheila is currently down, but safe," he reported. "If you are done there, we are done here."

"I am close to done," Gray said. "As long as these idiots stop coming at me. They don’t realize they are just fueling me with their death."

Stanley said nothing.

"Did you kill the guy or gal that is responsible for the power-ups?" Gray asked.

"He’s a victim himself. We’re trying to get him out, but none of us can get close to him. We die the moment touch him even accidentally."

"That’s not very fun," Gray said.

"Actually, anyone unawakened won’t die," the man said. "Only the ones who have powers that die when they touch me. Unawakened people are fine."

"Really?" Stanley asked. "Do we have someone unawakened in the team that’s on the ship?"

"Actually, I don’t have any powers," the man who was showing his wristpad said.

Stanley was surprised for a bit, but then he remembered that he hadn’t seen this man use his power once. He had just assumed he had some powers.

"I think I know what to do, Gray. You take care of whatever you are doing," Stanley said.

"Call in reinforcements. We should be done very quickly."

Stanley affirmed Gray that he would and immediately got to it. They checked to see where they were and found that they were floating somewhere northwest of United Voras, close to one of the many unclaimed islands.

Stanley zoomed out the map a bit and saw that they were about 500 kilometers north of Eyland, the place where his home was located.

’No wonder the climate felt so similar,’ Stanley thought. He hadn’t realized how close he was to his home.

After a while, they contacted the headquarters in United Voras and requested reinforcements in the ship. The people had been ready to come reinforce and had been waiting worriedly after getting no information, so the moment they got the info, they rushed there.

Still, at that distance, it would take them a few hours to arrive at where the ship was.

Stanley finally sat to the side and sighed in relief. "All we have to do with defend this place until our friends arrive."

Given that there was no one else on the ship, that was easy.
