Strongest Nova: Path of Vengeance

Chapter 318: It Works

Chapter 318: It Works

Stanley blocked two of the bullets that were shot at him with his sword and dashed forward to slash through both of the men at once. They couldn’t even find a chance to use their powers on him.

The two AAA men who were following behind him were more than shocked at how effective he was at going through them all.

Stanley touched one of the men he just killed and closed his eyes for a second. He learned more about the locations around the ship thanks to their memories.

"Something called the Server room is that way," Stanley pointed to the side.

"Server room?" Sheila asked in surprise. "We need to destroy it. That will stop all of these damn shields and allow us to communicate better.

Stanley nodded. "Let’s do that then," he said, making his way through the hallway. He arrived next to an open door and peeked in. There were a group of people, who were seemingly ready to fire back at once.

He quickly told them what was up.

"Can you fight them all at once?" Sheila asked.

Stanley wasn’t sure. "I can handle the guns, but if they have weird powers... I can’t be too sure," he said.

"I can disrupt them with my powers while you attack them," the man who could create a high-pitched sound said.

Stanley thought for a bit and nodded. "Any bit of disorientation would help," he said.

The man moved along with Stanley, arriving right next to the door. The others were further behind, so he could use his powers freely.

He slammed his knuckles together and immediately came a high-pitched sound. The ringing was loud and crashed into everyone’s ears.

Stanley did not like the sound either, but he could handle it at the moment. He dashed in, immediately making his sword as sharp as it could. Their shields flickered due to the sound and Stanley didn’t need to focus on making the sword heavy as a result.

He needed to cut through many people at once, so he needed that level of flexibility too, and thus couldn’t increase its weight too much.

As he killed the people, they began firing bullets at him. Stanley did not stop the bullets and instead cut through the people that shot at him.

He needed to kill them before they had a chance to kill him. So, he took on the bullets. The pain would be massive, but it was something he needed to handle.

Since Stanley was of the mind to handle the bullets and knew they were coming, his danger sense did not activate to tell him he was in danger.

He killed people one after another, even ignoring the powers that they were using. Barely anyone was strong enough to handle him with his speed.

Stanley finally stopped when everyone in the room was headed. He turned around, searching for anyone who might have still been alive, but not a single person moved.

He breathed in deeply, seemingly having been done with everyone. He was about to call out when he sensed something from behind him. The danger sense activated at that moment, giving him the knowledge that a bullet would come from his head and he wouldn’t be able to stop it.

Stanley didn’t know how that could be but he immediately dodged. He felt the bullet zip past where he had been, leaving behind a trail of hot air in its wake and an explosion at the back where it hit.

This bullet had been stronger than anything else he had seen.

Stanley looked where it had come from and saw that it was from a massive gun that was attached to the ceiling.

He ran to the side, the gun following him. He stepped on the wall and pushed against it to immediately throw himself toward the gun. The gun couldn’t keep up and Stanley cut through the gun in one attack,

He landed on the ground with the broken machinery falling along with him. He looked at the ceiling to see if there were more, but this was the only one.

"It’s done," he said and turned. "You guys can—"

His face paled in horror as he realized that the bullet that had hit the wall earlier had been where the man was hiding behind while using his powers.

Stanley ran out front and saw the man dead on the floor, with his lower half missing. The hallway was in stunned silence as the shock of the dead ally had been out of nowhere.

Stanley looked at him, stunned himself, but he knew he needed to act. It was not too late.

He leaned next to the man and placed his palm on his chest, immediately activating his time reversal powers. Within moments, he saw the man’s body parts return or regrow at the same speed at which he had lost it, instantaneously.

The man’s body returned whole and...

GASP!

The man breathed out loud as he opened his eyes, quickly getting back up. He breathed in deeply, feeling a sense of shock and horror.

"What... what did you do?" the other man off to the side asked, his eyes open in horror.

Stanley took a deep breath as well, relieved to see that it worked. His powers absolutely worked.

So long as the person had died within the last few seconds, he could return their body whole and even cause the soul to return to their body, making them alive.

So long as only a few seconds had passed, he could bring a person back from death.

That was a power that he had not expected to gain during this morning. That was a power that no one among them expected to see today at all.

"You can revive people now?" Sheila asked.

"Only if they died a few seconds prior," he said. "I tried doing it with someone who died only a few minutes before, and it didn’t work."

"I see," Sheila said. "That is still a great power."

"Thank you," the man said finally understanding what had happened. "Thank you for saving me."
