Star Instructor, Master Baek

Chapter 487: If Only We Had Met Here As Children

Chapter 487: If Only We Had Met Here As Children

Namgung Su was surprised by Ak Yeonho's sudden violent intrusion, but he was even more puzzled by the fact that the new instructor was there for him, not Baek Suryong. "Mr. Ak Yeonho, do you have business with me?"

Baek Suryong stared closely at Namgung Su. Although Namgung Su's demeanor was as cold as ever, he could tell from the faint trembling at the corner of his eye that he was uncharacteristically flustered.

He immediately suspected me, but in the end, he's the one who caused trouble?

He folded his arms and observed the situation, deciding to wait and see. Unfortunately, the situation was a lot more serious than he had imagined.

BAM!

Ak Yeonho slammed a crumpled piece of paper on the desk with the speed of a martial arts technique. "Yes, you! Tell me! Is this true?"

The ground shook with the impact.

Baek Suryong stared at it, but he could only make out the words 'Field Trip' on the crumpled surface.

Namgung Su examined it as well and frowned. "A field trip poster?"

"I just tore it off the wall! How could you do this behind my back?!"

Baek Suryong was dumbfounded. He hadn't seen those posters even when he was inspecting the clubs, so they must have been put up very recently. "What's going on, Yeonho?" he asked quietly, trying to calm his friend down.

Ak Yeonho roughly unfolded the poster so that Baek Suryong could read it, then pointed to a specific spot.

Location: Shandong Ak Clan, Jiangxi Branch Family Estate

"Since it involves the Ak Clan, shouldn't you have at least given me a hint? How could you go through with this decision without informing me? Are you trying to make me look like a fool?"

"Mr. Ak Yeonho," Namgung Su warned in a low voice, cutting Ak Yeonho off. Any hint of his earlier surprise was gone, replaced by a sharp glint in his golden eyes. "You're overstepping your bounds."

Ak Yeonho flinched. The Star Instructor of the Azure Dragon Academy did not tolerate anyone who crossed the line, regardless of who they were.

"Rather, I want to ask you a question. Why do I have to tell you about this?" Namgung Su pressed on. "You should already know that this year's field trip schedule and location were kept secret due to security issues. Do I have to share confidential information just because you're from the Shandong Ak Clan?"

"That's..." Ak Yeonho hesitated. Namgung Su's tone was much more high-handed than usual, leaving no doubt that he was the authority here.

Namgung Su added sternly, "If you truly think that way, I'll have to significantly revise my evaluation of you, Mr. Ak Yeonho."

Ak Yeonho gritted his teeth at the warning from the Azure Dragon Academy's only Star Instructor and his career senior. Still, he couldn't fully accept Namgung Su's logic. "It's not that difficult to drop a hint, is it? Do I look like a Blood Cult spy?"

"What in the world...!"

"Yeonho, calm down," Baek Suryong interjected, unable to watch the drama unfold any longer. He had a hunch that Namgung Su was about to unleash lightning from his golden eyes. "I think you're too worked up right now."

While he liked Ak Yeonho as a colleague and regarded him as a younger brother, he couldn't take his side this time.

I know he wouldn't act like this for no reason, but... the world isn't kind enough to be considerate of every little thing.

He exited the office, closing the door behind him.

Fortunately, thanks to Baek Suryong's mediation, Namgung Su also calmed down somewhat. "If you have nothing else to say, please leave now. If you have any complaints about the field trip schedule or location, submit a formal protest through the administration office."

Ak Yeonho bit his lip hard. He still seemed unconvinced, but he forced himself to hold back, if only because of Baek Suryong. "I guess I was too worked up. Sorry for bothering you."

Baek Suryong tilted his head, looking troubled. "What's all this about? Do you know anything?"

"I don't know, and I don't care," Namgung Su replied as he returned his attention to his work, seemingly unfazed by what had just happened.

Nevertheless, Baek Suryong could tell that his posture was noticeably stiffer than before.

Baek Suryong hurriedly wrapped up his most pressing tasks and rushed to Ak Yeonho's office. Unfortunately, he only found Myeong Il'oh, who shared the office with Ak Yeonho, there working alone.

"Suryong-hyung? What brings you here?" Myeong Il'oh asked.

Baek Suryong cut to the chase. "Hey, Il'oh. Where's Yeonho?"

"He said he wasn't feeling well and went home a little while ago. Weird, he's never done this before..."

"Did something happen to him?"

"Pardon?"

Baek Suryong showed Myeong Il'oh the poster Ak Yeonho had left behind and explained what had happened in Namgung Su's office.

Azure Dragon Academy Field Trip

Location: Shandong Ak Clan, Jiangxi Branch Family Estate

Schedule: ...Blah blah...

*Special Note: Joint field trip with the Vermilion Phoenix Academy

The poster was clear and concise, listing only the necessary info—typical of Namgung Su's work.

"Yeonho brought this and demanded to know why he wasn't informed about it beforehand. Of all people, he actually lashed out at Namgung Su. Can you believe it?"

"He seriously confronted Namgung Su?"

"Weird, right?"

"Yeah, unless he's gone crazy, there's no way he would do that... You're the only person in the Azure Dragon Academy who dares to pick a fight with Mr. Namgung Su, Hyung-nim."

"I'll take that as a compliment. Anyway, something's going on here."

Baek Suryong didn't think going to the Ak Clan for a field trip was something to get so upset about. Of course, Ak Yeonho might feel offended that it was arranged without his knowledge, but considering his easygoing personality, that wasn't enough of a reason to butt heads with Namgung Su.
