Chapter 225 225 Final Spurt

Roman placed his hands on the ground, what he needed now was a distraction so he could focus on one opponent at a time and he knew what to do.

A magic circle appeared and from it his hawk emerged. Immediately, this changed the entire dynamic of the battle, one question was on the minds of everyone.

As a summoner, it's unlikely to have just one summon which meant Roman had more and he just hadn't used them.

'He had summons, we didn't push him enough for him to use them, how the hell is he this powerful?' Aurelia's jaw clenched.

"What the hell is this!!" Ava shouted as the hawk flew upward and circled the arena, while both of them were somewhat distracted Roman struck.

[Blood Bind]

This time it caught Ava's leg, taking away her focus from Roman to the legs for just a split second but that was all Roman needed.

She immediately froze the hardened blood and broke free the next instant but Roman didn't waste it.

This was turning out to be Roman's go-to spell for now, that is till he learns a better one. Ava raised her head after breaking free but she was a little too late to see the spell and it exploded as it made contact with her stomach.

Ava was thrown back, her first barrier cracked and now all of them were on the same level but Roman didn't have any time to rest.

Aurelia was still there, she rushed in with everything she had left. Her sword came down again and again, faster than before, her strength peaking as she only had seconds left.

Roman blocked what he could, dodged what he couldn't, handle all of them, since Aurelia was blocking Ava's path she couldn't attack them and Roman had already given instructions.

Aurelia continued with her fury of strikes pushing Roman's backwards at the last moment when Aurelia thought she had won as Roman was open, a creature flashed in her view.

Roman's hawk swooped down with speed, claws forward as if trying to grab a prey but it was coming for Aurelia's face.

She had two choices, dodge the hawk letting Roman escape her attack, or eliminating Roman and then risk the hawk eliminating her making Ava the winner, and she chose the latter as Roman knew she would, she was the daughter of the Queen after all.

Aurelia didn't stop. She pushed forward for the final blow but just because Roman was open and didn't have a way to protect himself meant he didn't have a plan.

Roman's eyes sharpened.

Roman used this spell and infused almost all the mana he had left into it just so it would work.

His spell [Blood Extraction] normally pulls blood from wounded or dead creatures, but in this case, Aurelia was alive and didn't have an open wound so it ended up just pulling her entire body towards Roman due to the amount of mana infused.

Aurelia's body slowed just a little, pushing towards Roman causing her to lose balance and fumble the strike while his hawk dodged her and headed straight to Ava.

His plan was never to stop Aurelia, but was to stop Ava from using her trump card, he knew the reason Ava wasn't throwing powerful spells was that she was saving her mana, and he wasn't going to let her.

Chains locked Aurelia's entire body in place. Her eyes widened.

Roman turned instantly toward Ava, who saw the hawk coming towards her and cast an ice spell to stop it, the hawk dodged the first spell and then vanished as it was called back by Roman.

It forced her to block again, and he followed that up with another spell [Arcane Spark], all while charging towards her at full speed, and then another spell [Self Mirage].

The [Stone Bullet] damaged the wall of ice she brought up and his [Arcane Spark] destroyed the wall, but she wasn't that easy to bring down.

[Explosive Flame Arrow]

Instead of the usual spell Ava increased her firepower as Roman was charging towards her with his hand stretched out to cast a spell but she was faster as the spell was shot towards Roman but the moment it made contact with him, the image of him vanished, and behind him was Aurelia.

Roman could give the mirage he creates simple instructions like run forward, stand there, raise your hand, and then did just that, so Ava thought it was the real him.

Immediately the mirage disappeared Ava could see the real Roman who was already inches away from her.

[Sound Attack]

The [Sound Attack] hit first and it felt like her entire world was crumbling but Ava knew she wasn't out of the battle yet.

So even with the sounds she still managed to create a block of ice around herself to stop herself from taking damage but Roman turned his attention towards Aurelia and then his [Explosive Ember] hit.

This time, her barrier couldn't hold, It shattered completely, and Ava along with her block of ice fell to the ground, unable to continue.

The arena shook with noise, it hadn't gotten this way since the tournament started, but the nobles were so engrossed in the fighting that they completely forgot that it was a male in there.

Now it was over between them. Roman turned back to Aurelia. She had broken and dodged Ava's spell also.

Her enchantments flared as she forced her body forward, ignoring everything, she had no idea when it would stop but she knew she had to finish it now.

She dashed at him again. One final attack. Roman stood his ground. His hands moved one last time.

Roman felt like his guts were going to spill out of him as he fell to the ground, his mana was exhausted and he couldn't cast spells anymore.

"Your mana is exhausted, this battle is mine" Aurelia shouted as she dashed forward but mid-run she suddenly crashed to the ground her sword flying off.

Roman who had thought he would be defeated was shocked, the crimson aura that enveloped Aurelia had run out but still she pushed herself upward only to see a pair of legs in front of her, and then lights out as Roman delivered a powerful kick to her face.

Even though his mana had run out, he still had a little energy and now that the fight was over, it felt like he was going to die.

Roman stood there, breathing heavily, his body shaking slightly from the strain and then he turned around before falling to his knees.
