Chapter 210 Light Tapping

Chapter 210 Light Tapping

"You have really improved princess, I can see you’ve been training hard, but not hard enough" Victoria spoke as she began walking away.

Aurelia has never liked Victoria, not matter how hard she trained, Evelyn usually pays attention to her, sometimes showing her a thing or two, but Victoria on the other hand never paid any attention to her.

Victoria have told her many times that she was weak and wouldn’t really make an impact and should just settle in being the princess, but Aurelia never took the advice.

She wasn’t someone that would give up just because something didn’t work, and even if she was the first princess and would inherit the throne she would still attend the academy and master magic, because that is who she was.

"She did that as a last resort, and the only thing I did wrong was miscalculating my opponent" Aurelia spoke as Victoria stopped to look at her, then she smiled and walked away.

"Are you alright princess?" Evelyn asked.

"I’m fine" Aurelia bow her head slightly before walking towards the other students.

Elena’s family all left their seats following Elena’s mother as she was the current head of their family, and Elena was her first child, even though Elena’s aunts all had children, Elena was going to be next in line as the head of the family, so they couldn’t afford to let anything happen to her.

The Queen called Evelyn and she rushed towards her, "Follow them to see how the girl is doing, tell the healers to do everything in their power to make sure she survives" The Queen spoke and Evelyn nodded as she walked away.

"Continue the tournament" The Queen spoke to the announcer who walked back into the arena and gestured towards Roman and Reina.

Both of them stood up at the same time and stepped into the arena, Roman had a little smile on his face while Reina still had a lot on her mind.

She didn’t see any way Roman could defeat her, unless she held back, but he also didn’t want her to hold back, if she wins this fight then this would probably be the last time she sees him in a while.

Even though Reina is an S-rank, it would take a while before she is considered for mating with Roman simply because she was a commoner and had no standing.

"Don’t think about holding back" Roman muttered just enough for her ears to catch and she turned towards him.

"The next match would commence now, Roman vs Reina" The announcer spoke.

"Are you ready?" She asked and they both nodded, then the barrier mage came in and placed the usual barrier around them and around the arena.

Both of them stepped backwards creating space and Roman took a deep breath with his eyes closed, this was definitely going to be his first test, even though he had a chance of winning, he wasn’t fully confident, after all Reina was also an S-rank.

The rest of the noble watched the match with little interest, they knew Reina had the edge but given their relationship, she might go easy on Roman and let him win.

"Begin" The announcer called it and both of them still stood exactly still looking into each other eyes, then Roman took a step forward and another.

He didn’t cast any spell and neither did Reina as they felt no sense of urgency, Roman walked slowly towards her while Reina finally placed her hand on the ground.

"Ohh, how big is this wall?" Maze spoke as she looked up from the forest they were in with a large smile on her face.

In front of them was Avalon standing in all it’s glory, the barrier has been rebuilt, and made even stronger than before, all four of the demon general stopped just outside the forest watching the kingdom.

Maze tilted her head as she stared at the invisible barrier that covered Avalon. It was invisible but to her the barrier shimmered faintly, lines of light flowing across its surface like slow moving veins.

Even from a distance, the pressure it gave off could be felt. It wasn’t just strong, it was stable, layered, but even with all that, she could destroy the barrier if she tried.

"I hope I get to see the humans that made to turn tail and ran away," Maze said with a grin, her eyes sharp with interest as she looked at Xinthria hoping for a reaction but she said nothing.

"The barrier is a little interesting, it’s a little different from the last one I broke, it’s more reinforced" Nox spoke as she bent her neck to the side

Xinthria stood still watching the wall and the barrier, to her, humans were making progress with magic, more progress each passing year, but she knew it would end this year.

Before the end of the year, no human would be alive unless they went into hiding, there would be no more human kingdoms, and the Demon Queen would infect the land making it impossible for humans to return.

Xinthria knew why the Demon Queen wanted humans gone, but for her it was much personal, humans repulsed her, they were responsible for her species going extinct and she wasn’t going to rest till all humans faced the same fate.

"It’s different from before," Xinthria said calmly. "More condensed. They learned and improved it in such short time, interesting"

Behind them, Luna remained still, standing near the edge of the forest. She didn’t move forward. She had already been told not to interfere. This wasn’t a full assault. It was a test and for Xinthria it was a chance to analyze the barrier.

Maze cracked her neck and rolled her shoulders. "So what’s the plan? Light tapping or break down the door?"

"We apply pressure," Xinthria replied. "Enough to force a response. And I’ll go behind and do what I need, don’t expose yourself as a general, fight modestly and try not to kill too many of them"

Maze’s smile widened. "Finally. Been a while since I stretched."
