Chapter 267: The Power Of Yggdrasil's Dragons

Chapter 267: The Power Of Yggdrasil's Dragons

-----

Camelot.

Timothy and Arthur stood before the ruined capital. The Spirit Divine Tree, the Guardian of Camelot's Fantasy Realm, Avalon, burned as divine flames of gold and red spread across its form.

The giant guardian, completely taken over by a mysterious entity from beyond the stars, trembled in agony and screamed loudly. A distorted woman's scream echoed from within.

"W-What is that?!" Arthur gasped, holding onto his wounded sister. Every other member of his family stood close to him or lay unconscious on the floor. He had never seen such a gigantic being before… or rather, not one that was not Louis.

"That's… Uh, I guess that's help," Timothy muttered, smiling in disbelief at the sight. "Yeah… holy shit."

What they were all witnessing was a god among gods, a dragon among dragons, a King of his species. An incredibly powerful being born from the Fire Dragon Family, he wielded the strongest flames, Origin Flames, capable of returning everything to nothing.

His flames spread everywhere, taking the form of countless other fire dragons that roared as if alive. They devoured Avalon's monstrous self and made it rapidly crumble to pieces.

"A-AAAAHHH…! MY…! MY KING…! I JUST… WANTED TO PROTECT YOUR… FAMILY…!"

"Avalon…!"

Arthur stood shocked, tears streaming from his eyes as he gazed at the dying divine tree. Born from the Camelot Fantasy Realm that had formed here, where the Kingdom was built afterward, Avalon had been a guardian deity of the people.

Her roots extended far underground and all around the Kingdom. Her trunk and branches stretched high into the skies at the center of the capital where the castle once stood.

Arthur would never have thought that his Kingdom's guardian deity would become corrupted and then controlled by something else, used to bring chaos and destruction to his people.

Already having his Country's Treasury robbed was terrible enough, but this? It was simply beyond ridiculous.

The True Excalibur held by his father was lost in the castle as it crumbled. His parents lay dead, buried under the rubble after they were killed by Avalon in cold blood, impaled by dozens of sharp branches.

And now, he witnessed the ruin of his Kingdom at the hands of dragons.

This great being was saving them, yes, but at the same time, the last legacy of Camelot was burning. Arthur felt truly lost and broken, shattered into countless pieces.

"Hmmm… Ah, there it is."

The giant golden and red dragon spoke with a mighty voice. He raised his hand as Origin Flames and metals born from his own scales gathered together, forming hundreds of Legendary Blazing Swords.

Arthur, Timothy, and everyone else alive witnessed the true might of the dragon species, the strongest beings they had ever seen.

"Begone."

His voice reverberated everywhere as the hundreds of burning weapons pierced the giant tree and completely impaled and slashed through the monstrous being possessing it.

The weapons followed its presence as it traveled through the burning branches until it reached Avalon's trunk. There, it shapeshifted her form into a giant titan of black wood covered with countless red eyes and vertical jaws.

"DAMNED DRAGONS! FOR HOW LONG DO YOU WISH TO STAND BEFORE MY MASTER'S PLANS?!"

The monstrous titan made of dark wood grew dozens of arms, conjuring giant axes, swords, hammers, and more. It unleashed a powerful Primordial Aura of War and Destruction.

"I SHALL SLAY YOU NOW, BEAST!"

The thing leaped toward the giant dragon, whose golden eyes gleamed mysteriously. In that moment, the dragon grabbed his own chest and tore apart his bones and more, forming a giant sword out of himself, his own soul, and the souls of countless other fire dragons through an unknown power.

He simply possessed the power to turn anything he touched into pieces of armor, equipment, or anything he wanted, on top of already being an incredibly strong dragon.

"Is that so?"

The dragon smiled and crashed against the titan. Countless weapons rushed at him, warping reality and distorting space.

But he simply avoided the attacks, tanked them, or countered with his sword, easily slicing and burning through the monster's body.

SLASH!

SLASH!

SLASH!

SLASH!

"GAAAAH?!"

Four slashes were all it took to completely annihilate the giant tree monster. Avalon burned and died at the same time as the entity possessing her began to withdraw its presence.

"Trying to escape? Let us see you try."

The dragon leaped forward, using his blazing wings to reach higher into the skies. He then swung his sword, channeling his soul and powers into it with a single ascending attack.

"Heavenly Fire Dragon Soul Legion Blade Arts – Myriad-Fold Inferno."

The power of a legion of thousands of fire dragon souls was unleashed with that single attack, a myriad-fold strike that cut through the monstrous Venerable with immense power.

SLAAASH!

RUMBLE!

His Authority was instantly shattered, and his Avatar was utterly destroyed to the point that even his true form was heavily damaged, becoming ablaze within its separate dimension.

"GYAAAAAHHHHH!"

The Venerable's presence vanished with an agonizing cry. Before its true form could combust into more flames, countless slashing attacks covered it.

With horror, the Venerable saw the hundreds of dragon souls that had struck him follow him across time and space. They began to tear his soul apart and devour his body until he could no longer resist.

"W-WHAT IS…! WHAT IS THIS?!"

BOOOOOMMM!!!

Like a supernova across the galaxy, the Venerable's true form combusted into flames and created an entire new star system…

"Hmph," the fire dragon sighed, retrieving his sword back into his body as he looked at the survivors. He spread golden flames that healed everyone in the kingdom. "Sorry for being so late. My flames will heal anybody that was wounded or had died recently."

"A-Ah! T-That means…! Mother, father! T-They're in the castle!" Arthur said.

"That so? Let me help," the giant dragon seemed surprisingly kind for his intimidating form. He used his powers to lift all the rubble and send it flying into the sea. Then his flames began healing and reviving the recently deceased. "I cannot heal everyone, I am sorry, but… a few fortunate ones might have made it."

"Cough… son…!" the King of Camelot coughed as Arthur heard his voice.

"FATHER!" Arthur ran toward his father, hugging him alongside his sister. "T-Thank you! Thank you, great dragon god!"

"You may call me Surtr. I am the King of the Fire Dragons, kid," the giant fire dragon smiled, glad he could help.

"S-Son…! I… did I die?" the King was shaken, his blue eyes widening. "W-Where's your mom?"

"Mom? Mom!" Arthur tried to wake his mother, but even though her body was healed, she remained dead.

"I am sorry, it looks like she could not make it," the Fire Dragon spoke, his eyes filled with empathy.

"W-What? Y-You… you are a god! Why can you not heal her?!" Arthur asked. "Please…! I beg of you! I am stripping away all my pride, everything I am, to beg you, great dragon god, for—"

"I already told you that it is impossible," the dragon said. "I am sorry… but sometimes you have to accept someone's death and move on."

"…"

Arthur stared at the dragon in disbelief. The King nodded and understood what the dragon meant, but Arthur did not quite get it.

In fact, he pretended he did. He lowered his head, feeling powerless, completely and utterly powerless, looking at the rubble and at what his Kingdom had become.

Before such great beings, what was he but trash?

In that moment he understood that the only true rulers of all were they, the magnificent, all-powerful, and perfect beings.

Dragons.

A dark grudge festered within his heart as he noticed a small surviving root of Avalon hiding under the rubble. It quickly disappeared underground.

He could have said something, but it seemed so weak and small that even the dragon had not noticed it.

He chose to remain silent.

"Arthur… we can rebuild," his father said, smiling at him. "We are alive with your sister… that is what matters now… Let us… make sure that your mother has a beautiful place to rest."

"…Yes," Arthur sighed, looking down at his mother resting peacefully. Tears streamed from his eyes as he furrowed his eyebrows. His eyes showed a clear mix of frustration and sorrow. "I understand, father…"

Mesopotamia.

The Ruins of the Ancient Civilization were being torn apart. Explosions of old technology echoed everywhere as circuits and metal were sliced through by the power of cutting winds. Dozens of emerald tornadoes descended from the skies, as if the gods themselves had decided to destroy this place once and for all.

Ashur and the rest of his House glanced in disbelief at the destruction. Drakda and Amethyst, who had fought with everything they had to protect this place, rapidly began to regain and reawaken their true power while absorbing the atmospheric energies of Yggdrasil. They grew even larger and more defined, as if evolving.

"Let us go again!"

"Yeah, this time, no mercy."

Drakda and Amethyst nodded and crushed through the gigantic mechanical city. Giant sentinels rose, only for Drakda's jaws to tear them apart. His breath attacks bombarded them all and generated countless explosions.

Amethyst unleashed her truest form, becoming a gleaming dragon goddess of colorful jewels. She fired hundreds of beams of light from her entire body, bombarding everything around her and causing hundreds of explosions. At the same time, she swung her hands and giant pillars of crystals surged from the ground.

The one that had arrived to help them remained in the skies but slowly began to descend. At first, Ashur had believed he was some kind of giant bird, but its appearance, stance, wings, and might made it clear that it was not just a bird… but a dragon.

Although it was coated in emerald green and golden feathers and possessed a long and sharp yellow beak decorated with red and green colors, this giant creature—with sharp bird-like talons for legs and hands and four enormous feathered wings that allowed it to become deeply attuned with the Winds and the World around it—was…

A Wind Dragon.

And not just any, but one that had completely reached the pinnacle, dominating and conquering the skies in their totality. And it was not just winds, after all.

Rain, thunder, and snow descended, turning into a giant typhoon of destruction that crushed and disintegrated the gigantic technological super city. Hundreds of gigantic mechanical sentinels and anything within them rapidly died and were torn apart.

Drakda and Amethyst joined in the destruction, and with their combined power, the threat that had destroyed Mesopotamia was completely vanquished.

"Haha… T-They did it…" Ashur laughed while falling to his knees, witnessing his destroyed country and then gazing at the dragons. He realized their immense power. "Y-You really did it… huh? Dragons… dragons are truly the strongest beings… haha… Hahahahahaha!" He laughed out loud, covering his face. "Isn't that… isn't that fascinating?! Hahaha… hahah… aaahah… ha…" Tears streamed from his eyes as Ashur, once proud and scheming, grabbed his face with frustration and pain.

The presence that had awakened the Ancient Civilization and its Army was gone before the Wind Dragon could destroy it, but he quickly descended afterward. Using his Winds that shone like golden light, he healed the wounded and lifted rubble.

"I am sorry for not being able to help earlier," he spoke with a gentle voice. "I am Emerald, the King of Wind Dragons. Fear not, from now on your Kingdom will be protected by me. Let us save as many as we can before we create shelters. Then we can start rebuilding… Drakda, Amethyst, you have done well holding on your own."

"Why are you acting like you are so important now, Emerald?" Amethyst seemed jealous of him. Their casual banter showed they had a history together.

"It is good to see you again, uncle," Drakda said. "You are as strong as I remember… forgive me. Despite being my father's son, I failed so many…"

"Enough said," Emerald replied, patting his shoulders. "You did well for what you could do. Make sure to stay here and regain your former strength, Drakda. You too, Amethyst. Aren't you supposed to be the Earth and Light Dragon Queen? Perhaps an idyllic life has led you to grow rusty…"

"Ugh, shut up!!!" Amethyst hissed angrily as she began lifting boulders on her own, ignoring him.

"Sorry, I did not mean to sound rude…" Emerald sighed.

"Don't worry about her," Drakda smiled. "Ashur, are you alright? Amekda too?"

"W-We are fine, great… dragon god…" Ashur muttered, a smile on his face, one full of pain and sorrow. "All… thanks to you, almighty dragon gods… we owe you our lives… we are… merely worms… before you… nothing… absolutely… nothing…"

"…"

"…"

The dragon gods looked at one another, realizing the young man was broken. They had human friends; there were not just dragons fighting by Drake's side in the past.

"Humans can also grow to become as strong as us," said Emerald. "There is the Hero of Humans and the current God of Midgard, Hector. A great friend of ours."

"Hector, yeah, how is he doing?" Drakda asked.

"He says he is always busy dealing with invading Grievances… now that things have turned dire though, we may need his power as well," Emerald spoke.

"…" Ashur did not really care about who that Hector guy was, though. He knew that he probably had received plenty of help. Deep down he even thought the man might have been the Dragon King's pet or something. "Thank you… for everything…"

His resentment toward his saviors felt wrong and stupid, and he knew it. He hated himself more and more for it as Amekda walked to his side, holding him tight.

"It is okay, Ashur… House Mesopotamia is here for you," she said softly, showing emotion despite always being rather emotionless.

"Amekda…" Ashur muttered, his eyes widening as he realized she was a dragon after all. If there was anything he could do as a lowly human, it was to build connections with the strongest beings in this universe. "I… I am so lucky to have you. Thank you for everything… without you, I do not know what I would be…"

"O-Oh…" Amekda blushed. "Ashur… I have always… looked up to you despite everything. You are my best friend after all… sorry if we have not gotten along sometimes."

"It is fine… we can start again, can we~?" Ashur forced a gentle, fake smile, holding her hand, even though inside he felt deep revulsion.

But he had to do it, for the sake of his Kingdom, his people… and his pride and ego.

Yamato.

SPLASH!

Almost as if a cruel joke based on the traumatic experiences the people of Japan had endured in the past, a powerful tsunami washed over the entire city out of nowhere.

The roar of a dragon echoed from somewhere as giant bubbles formed everywhere there were people, protecting them from the tsunami.

Or rather, it was the water itself moving away from hurting them, as if alive!

The burning capital, the castle, the Yokai, the Onis, and even the revived Ancient Demon King of the Sixth Heaven—who had returned through the Spiral that Mikoto's father held—all drowned in the cruel oceans.

"W-What is happening?!" Mikoto gasped, seeing the seas raging and transforming into thousands of sea serpents that tore everything apart.

"T-This is insane!" Selene gasped, watching as the Yokai or Oni that tried to swim toward them were quickly drowned and crushed by the pressure.

"The sea came to life and is helping us? It is even protecting us!" Melisa said. "W-Wow…! Princess Mikoto, your Empire is safe!"

"S-Safe?" Mikoto fell to her knees as she saw the destruction. "I… I do not… I mean… I do not know what is even happening anymore."

"I can sense it, over there!" Anastasia pointed into the distance.

There, amidst the seas, a gigantic silhouette resembling that of the ancient marine dinosaur, the mythical Plesiosaur, emerged. It swam across the seas and manipulated them with a mere thought.

The oceans surrounding it spun into powerful spirals of high pressure, crushing any monster or being that dared to get closer.

Eventually, the revived Demon King of the Sixth Heaven, who was still surviving the water pressures with his powerful Demonic and Spiral Aura while possessing the body of Yamato's Emperor, gazed at this being.

"Who are you to interrupt this great king's conquest?!" he roared. "Long have I awaited since I was slain by that detestable lizard king to return! The vengeful spirits of all my subordinates now exist within me! The fool who has become my new vessel was unable to keep his sanity after attempting to ascend to Tier 1, and I took over instead! I will not let go of this single opportunity I have been given, you oversized fish lizard!"

"Long time no see, Nobunaga. Drake told me you passed away peacefully, but I guess that was wrong, huh? Even when Hajun was slain by him, you were still planning this return? Fifty thousand years later?!"

"Hmph! So there are lowly beings like you who know my name! It seems that it has made history!" The Emperor laughed as he walked toward the giant sea creature and thrust his long, fiery red spear even as he was assaulted by the pressure of the seas. "To commemorate that, I shall slay you quick and painlessly! Demonic Spear of Destruction – Izanagi!"

RUMBLE!

A giant spiraling strike struck the giant dinosaur. Its entire body exploded and disintegrated as the entire Sea Domain it had summoned disappeared at the same time!

BOOOMMM!!!

The revived Demon King remained, opening his mouth wide and laughing. "GAHAHAHAHA! FOOLISH CREATURE! SO WEAK AND PATHETIC BEFORE THE MIGHT OF THIS GLORIOUS KING OF THE HEAVENS!"

"F-Father!" Mikoto tried to run toward him. "Father, please wake up! It is me! Father!"

"Hm?" The Emperor gazed upon his daughter, raising an eyebrow. "I have no recollection of ever having a daughter. And if I had one, she would never be this pathetic and weak. Begone from my sight!"

The Emperor roared, placing his palm forward as a giant shockwave of crimson energy sent Mikoto flying away. She crashed through buildings and vomited.

"Kuaaaggh?!"

"Mikoto-sama!!!"

His subordinates all ran to help and heal her. House Frostbane quickly sent Melisa to heal her, while the rest—Selene, Agustina, and Anastasia—faced the Emperor.

"Just who the hell are you anyway?" Agustina asked angrily, beginning to forge all her armament again, glistening with cosmic divine light.

"We will cut you down no matter what…!" Anastasia said, taking a step forward while holding her sword.

"We will crush you! RAAAHHH!" Selene roared mightily.

"Hahaha… HAHAHAHAHA!" The Emperor laughed. "What are three little girls going to do against me?! Haven't you learned your lesson already?! I AM MUCH STRONGER!"

The King laughed as his Aura surged, dividing into dozens of his subordinates. All of them manifested as different Incarnations, attacking the girls from every angle and overwhelming them completely.

Then he charged, thrusting his demonic spear and aiming to impale Selene, who swiftly avoided it, kicking him in the head and sending him crashing down.

Agustina followed, fusing her weapons into a single hammer of destruction and smashing his body with all her force.

The ground shattered and lava poured out everywhere as cracks spread across the entire capital.

Anastasia followed, cutting through all the Incarnations as she froze them and shattered them into many pieces, followed by covering the Emperor with cutting wounds.

"Hahaha… HAHAHAHA! YOU CANNOT… DEFEAT ME!"

The Emperor stood up once more, roaring mightily as he punched Anastasia away, kicked Selene, and then pierced through Agustina's armor, shattering it with his spear.

Even with the weapons Louis had given them, they could only struggle and continue fighting. The Emperor had become the Embodiment of his own Spiral, nearing the same level as the Abyssal Mother, Lisette, and Minato.

Beings so strong that not even Louis could easily take them on himself, needing the support of everyone else! To fight one themselves without someone like Louis at the front was utter madness.

And yet…

"I have seen enough. You girls are the real deal."

They were not alone.

A voice thundered across the capital as a mass of azure and golden radiance manifested above the skies, shocking everyone.

The presence they had felt earlier was suddenly revived. The dragon they thought had come to save them was not dead as Nobunaga had imagined.

"You are not dead yet? What sort of joke is this? Are you… Ah! Wait a minute, you must be…!"

The Emperor gasped as he gazed upon the dragon's true form, a being made of glistening light and flowing water-like divine soul essence, a being entirely made of that.

The moment Nobunaga had struck his body and destroyed it, his "true form" had manifested from his shell. The hardened body outside had been nothing but the first layer leading toward his true appearance.

The unique circumstances of this powerful dragon had given birth to an incredible lifeform that even the Dragon King himself recognized as immensely powerful.

"The one and only, old man. Triton, the Sea Dragon King!" roared the giant dragon made entirely out of flowing sea water and golden light. Its body was over five hundred meters large, with two massive muscular arms, a large head with sharp teeth, gleaming golden eyes, and a pair of long wings.

"Weren't you a little brat before?!" Nobunaga asked. "A-And you think you can take me?! Don't make me laugh!"

The Demon King roared, leaping toward the skies to face him. He thrust his demonic spear forward, aiming to shatter his soul.

BOOOMMM!!!

Yet another devastating attack reached the dragon, piercing a hole through his body… but the hole quickly filled back up as the dragon punched his body dozens of times. He grew hundreds of arms on his liquid and ethereal soul body!

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

"Uugh?!"

Nobunaga screamed in pain, realizing each punch was tearing through his True Soul and not even targeting his real body, but his Spiral.

"W-Wait…!"

The monstrous demon king roared, twisting his body and attacking with his spear. Hundreds of thrusting attacks struck Triton, however…

"Divine Soul Sea Domain – Sea Dragon King's Eternal Palace!"

Triton roared, summoning a giant trident, his divine weapon, and thrusting it against Nobunaga, sending him crashing inside a trap, a giant palace made of his own Soul Sea.

"W-What is this?!"

As the Demon King roared furiously, the palace began twisting and turning smaller.

And smaller.

And smaller!

"W-What?! Ahhh! Wait a second— Wait! Wait!"

Triton grabbed the palace in his hands and then, with his power, completely crushed it. Nobunaga was inside. Nothing but faint voices could be heard as his power was immediately suppressed and weakened.

"Now."

Holding the bubble that contained him, Triton followed by using the magnificent power of his very Soul.

"Divine Soul Sea Domain – Soul Ocean!"

His Soul surged like an ocean of azure and golden light, encompassing the entire palace.

"Y-YOUUUU LET GO OF MEEEEAAAAHHH!"

The Ancient Emperor that had terrorized Zipangu and attempted to conquer Yggdrasil afterward was completely exorcised. His Soul separated from the Emperor's Body as Triton placed the barely living emperor on the floor.

Oda Nobunaga had no other option. He escaped his vessel and emerged as a weakened Grievance, gasping for air. He glared at Triton with anger.

"H-How dare you…! You… you!"

"I was once merely a child, carried away by your whims. Back then, remember? When you trapped us all in your infinite castle and it was a real pain in the ass to get out? I struggled fighting one of your servants, but now… how the tables have turned!"

"GRRRR…! I am getting out of here…!"

Nobunaga did not even fight. He quickly distorted space and opened a portal, aiming to escape. However, Triton held his trident tightly, infusing it with his power.

"You are not going anywhere, old man."

And then, from within his Divine Soul Body, something even deeper began to slowly manifest, yet another soul, another layer beneath his initial one.

FLAAASH!

A second soul, his "true soul" underneath his "soul body," manifested. It was entirely made out of the purest form of magic and gleamed with purple and red color.

This magic fueled Triton's Divine Soul Treasure to its highest power level.

"Primordial Divine Soul Sea Trident – Soul Piercing Poseidon's Wrath!"

TRUUUM!

A piercing strike of azure color struck and caught Nobunaga as he escaped. His Grievance body shook as all nine of his cores shattered instantly.

"KUAAAAAAGGH?!"

As he screamed in agony, a massive hole appeared in his soul. His eyes widened as he fell to the floor, his entire body slowly beginning to fade away into rainbow-colored dust.

"W-Wait…! Please have… mercy… I must… I…!"

"You were given a second chance to start over, but you ruined it like this. Now die."

Triton had no mercy. He destroyed the tyrant's soul once and for all, tearing it apart into countless tiny pieces that flew everywhere and disappeared on the wind.

Everyone else watching the scene was left speechless at the immense power this dragon possessed. He quickly gazed at them.

"Are you alright?"

He quickly lifted the Emperor, healing him with his Soul Sea Magic and bringing him to his daughter, who had been watching in silence after she was healed.

"Father!"

She cried tears of joy, hugging her father, who slowly opened his eyes. He felt exhausted and tired. His Spiral was now gone, and he was once more an ordinary human, but at least he was alive.

"My dear… my dear daughter… I am so happy to see you alive…"

The Emperor caressed his daughter's face as Selene, Melisa, Anastasia, and Agustina were greeted by Triton, who hovered toward them.

"Drake sent me here to help. Is there anything you need help with?" he wondered, crossing his arms.

Frostbane.

As Louis finally met his grandfather, he felt that all across the globe, the dark presences attempting to stir more chaos and destroy everything had suddenly vanished.

"They are gone?! So fast…?" he was shocked.

"Is it done then?" the Dragon King wondered. "Well, there is nothing for you to worry about anymore, grandson. Shall we begin now?"

"…Right." Louis nodded. "Thank you for taking care of that, grandfather."

Louis, his father, and his grandfather stood over a large formation placed beneath Benladra, who rested peacefully. The formation, composed of many nodes and divine runes forged by the Dragon King, continued to expand for almost a kilometer.

Then, slowly, it began to reduce in size and grew smaller, activating at the same time as Louis, Gustaf, and Drake unleashed their combined power.

FLASH!

Using Gustaf's research knowledge combined with Louis's unique power and merging them both through his power and resources, the Dragon King targeted his daughter's soul.

RUMBLE!

The ground trembled. The world itself gained cracks everywhere once more. Massive quantities of magma and flames erupted from the planet's core.

Drake tapped the ground with his power and the cracks instantly healed. He then smiled at the formation.

"It is working. Keep it up!"

Within Benladra's soul, the ever-growing black darkness was suddenly targeted. White lightning pierced it and began to distort it constantly, slowly summoning it outside.

At the same time, Louis infused his powers upon his mother, beginning to free her from the monster's influence by replacing it with his own.

He did so by pouring all their memories together.

Yes.

All of what he had experienced with her since early childhood, his love for her, everything.

"Mother…"

Tears streamed from his eyes as Louis saw all these old memories flashing through his mind one by one, continuously.

From the moment he was born to the days he spent growing up and being spoiled by her.

How he ran around the grasslands while she followed along.

How she gently held him while feeding him.

"Please…!"

How he slowly grew up more and more and how she was always watching, teaching him and more.

And how she would sometimes cry because she felt alone, and he would do everything he could to comfort her and hug her, making her feel better until she smiled again.

That kind smile, those beautiful eyes.

After seeing so many timelines where she and everyone else died…

"Please return, mother!"

Louis wanted to finally see her return.

FLAAASH!

A pillar of white and golden light exploded from Benladra's soul as a black bubble of distorted dimensional energy emerged from her soul.

And from within, a gigantic monstrosity surged, roaring and dropping to the floor, warping and distorting space itself.

"Who… dares? Who dares interrupt me from… my feast?"

And before everyone's eyes, there it was: a giant made of gray light, wearing the beast pelts of creatures he had hunted, carrying a long knife, with a face made of twisted stars.

Level 10 Grievance, The Shepherd of Skinned Time.

The formation finished and Louis, Gustaf, and Drake stood in front of the unconscious Benladra, protecting her with their auras surging.

"We finally meet, you bastard!" Louis roared, his aura exploding with power. "Time for payback, don't you think?!"

"…"
