Chapter 266: The Dragon King of Yggdrasil
Chapter 266: The Dragon King of Yggdrasil
-----
Camelot.
At the center of the Kingdom, Arthur and his House battled against an endlessly growing spiritual divine tree possessed by a mysterious Venerable. It constantly devoured all citizens and expanded without end.
Timothy had been sent alone to handle it. With his powers, he was holding the tree back as much as possible, barely matching its strength but nowhere near enough to defeat it. Arthur and his House were beginning to lose all hope.
Mesopotamia.
An Ancient Civilization had awakened, bringing forth Ancient Machinery that implied the Ancient Mesopotamian Gods once existed and had come from the stars. The entire mechanical civilization was possessed by a powerful Entity, likely another Venerable, and it was terrorizing the capital of Uruk.
Drakda and Amethyst fought against the creature with everything they had, unleashing all their power alongside several other divine dragons. They were beginning to win, but Ashur and his people despaired as everything around them was being destroyed in the process.
Yamato.
The capital of Yamato, Kyoto, was swallowed by Ghostly Flames as millions of Yokai invaded from the depths of Yomi. The Ancient Demon King of the Sixth Heaven had returned out of nowhere, emerging from the Spiral of Madness of the current emperor. He had devoured the emperor and taken over his body.
He summoned horrors from Yomi and Zipangu and led an army of nightmares to swallow the entire capital in flames. Mikoto and her House, alongside Anastasia, Agustina, Melisa, and Selene, fought with all they had to stop him. Yet they rapidly began to realize he was being sponsored by a powerful entity from beyond the stars.
Spiritias.
The Limitless Archdemon Venerable, once the best friend of the Ruler of Spiritias, unleashed his all-out invasion upon the "Old World" beyond the borders of the Demon Continent. It was a "revenge" against all humans in Spiritias who had tormented and abused demons for thousands of years.
Leading the new generation of Archdemons—of which Myrghoul was part—he unleashed a war while receiving the sponsorship of a certain deity from beyond the stars. He stirred endless conflicts to create the most chaos possible, feeding the Spiral of Madness as the distortions began to reach this world as well.
Zipangu.
Completely ignoring Yamato, the Great Headless Venerable of Nine Suns set his eyes on much larger prey. Noticing how Earth was coming to an end, and similarly to the One-Hundred Limbed Fallen Abyssal Mother, he mobilized while bringing along his entire Fantasy Realm, The Blinding Crucible. He invaded Zipangu with all his forces.
Unleashing the radiance of nine suns, the new Sun Empress of Zipangu, daughter of Amaterasu, fought back with everything she had. She brought along the Nine Heavenly Divine Spirit Dragon Gods and the entire army of the New Kami to defend Zipangu with all their might, completely blocked from supporting Yamato because of this.
Frostbane.
Prince Louis had returned to save his country and had defeated the Vultarn High Dominion and the Evolved Gardener. Yet he was unable to stop Myrghoul from possessing his mother while the One-Hundred Limbed Fallen Abyssal Mother brought along the Weeping Nest, swallowing the Kingdom with her.
Faced with his strongest foes ever from left and right, Louis used all his power. He covered the entirety of Earth with the power of the Heart of Dimensions and lifted the planet toward the Distortions across Space, leading it to Yggdrasil, whose current status was completely unknown.
Knowing that he could no longer fight alone, he decided to gamble everything on this single move and see for himself if his grandfather was truly as formidable as everyone had said.
"If you're so damn strong, then help your grandson, you damn useless old man!"
With a roar of anger as he faced Myrghoul and the Abyssal Mother while protecting his family, his voice echoed through all of Yggdrasil as Planet Earth arrived in this vast world.
His eyes widened after he spoke. For a moment he gazed upon the endless landscape before him and realized the tremendous scale of this world.
Its "sky" and "atmosphere" were so massive that Planet Earth was merely floating there, right above a continent hundreds of times its size.
It was merely a small star in a world that seemed completely boundless.
Was Zipangu or Spiritias even this vast in comparison?
No.
Because Yggdrasil itself was His body and His Soul. It had continued growing at a ridiculous speed in these last fifty thousand years since he took charge of it all.
Yggdrasil right now was thousands of times larger than it had been fifty thousand years ago, perhaps the largest Fantasy World in the entire Universe.
While Zipangu was as vast as the Sun itself and Spiritias as vast as the Solar System, Yggdrasil's size was comparable to the Milky Way.
It almost felt as if he had entered the Inner Macrocosm of someone else.
And he was not wrong to assume that.
Above all, Yggdrasil could no longer be qualified as a Fantasy World anymore.
It was the cradle of "Fantasy," where it all truly began, where Magic, Souls, and the Supernatural were born throughout the entire Universe.
Yggdrasil was the Primordial World of Fantasy, where it all once began.
Thus, as the most ancient, it clearly had the strongest beings.
"What have you done now?!" roared Myrghoul. "Where have you dragged the planet?! Fool! Do you truly believe you will accomplish anything?! If this is Spiritias, then I can call my Master the Limitless Archdemon Venerable, and we will crush you and everyone else even more easily!"
"A GIGANTIC WORLD... READY FOR ME TO... BRING TO PARADISE... OOOOHHH..." The Abyssal Mother cried black and red tears, showing both joy and sorrow. Unlike Myrghoul, she stopped targeting Louis and flew into the atmosphere.
Toward the world of Yggdrasil, her Domain rapidly expanded everywhere, beginning to turn a small part of it into darkness. From there she continued expanding further and further, turning everything into darkness and abyssal forests.
The beautiful green forests beneath were being rapidly infected, and so were the mountains and the seas, shaking this part of Yggdrasil to its core.
"So much power...! This world is so rich in resources... if I refine it all into my own Fantasy Realm, I can quickly—"
"Freeze."
TRUUUM!
"...GUH?!"
In an instant, everything the Abyssal Mother had accomplished was frozen, alongside her gigantic, aberrant body that had already grown larger than Earth.
Her entire body trembled as she felt an immense cold so intense that her very soul was freezing, and even her own thoughts and powers froze.
The very conceptual authority she wielded froze, and to her disbelief, she even saw her Spiral beginning to freeze and gain cracks.
It was utterly ridiculous.
"A-Ah...! A-AAAH...!"
Her mouth barely moved as she tried to make sounds. Her eyes widened beneath the ice covering her, which was so intense and powerful that none of her abilities could break it.
There, something was watching her.
Something enormous manifested from the clouds above, the nine heavens that shone brightly in all colors to create Yggdrasil's endless skies.
It fused into a massive, reptilian eye.
A dragon's eye, gleaming with gold and azure light, with silver-blue scales surrounding it, so massive it was the size of Earth.
Indeed, everyone on Earth fell to their knees before his gaze, an eye larger than the planet itself, something Louis in his largest form could not accomplish.
Louis held his breath, and so did everyone present. Something enormous was descending, a presence, a... hand!
Forming from pure divine power and the skies themselves, thousands of kilometers of clouds melded into its form to give it shape.
This massive hand, gleaming with azure scales and golden claws, reached the Abyssal Mother and grabbed her body.
She, the Abyssal Mother, someone so powerful that not even Louis was sure he could beat her because of her incredible perseverance and authority...
She was grabbed like a mere rat, tightly. Her entire body twisted in agony as the ice covering her began to shatter.
"AAAAAAAAAGHHHHHHH!"
As she screamed in agony, the eye became two, and then a gigantic head manifested, so huge that mountains, forests, and valleys grew over its scales.
Its head, larger than the sun, was adorned by a pair of azure-gold coral-like horns and a gleaming crown made of horns that surged beneath them, jewels embedded into the primordial being's scales.
A complete titan beyond the scale anybody else had ever witnessed.
"G-Grandpa?"
Louis's mouth hung open in disbelief. His grandfather gazed down upon the Abyssal Mother while tightly holding onto her, glaring at Earth with narrowed eyes.
"I see."
His voice echoed everywhere at once, as if nature itself—no, the laws of reality—bent to create his voice. Everyone on Earth trembled and fell unconscious except those strong enough to barely hold onto their consciousness.
Those invading Yamato, Camelot, and Mesopotamia instantly began to halt their advance. Their entire power began to weaken rapidly.
Even the monstrous Myrghoul, possessing Benladra, his daughter, fell to his knees and vomited blood, groaning in pain all over.
"GAAAAHHH! GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!!"
He constantly screamed while grabbing his head in agonizing despair, gasping, groaning, and vomiting everywhere in a sight never seen before.
"L-LET...! LET ME GO...!"
The Abyssal Mother attempted to fight back, only for His body to manifest even more until he completely appeared.
His body formed from the ground beneath the mountains, the seas, the volcanoes, the valleys. Everything rapidly turned into his True Body.
Because for a while now, He had already merged even deeper with his world.
His radiance was immense. His presence was world-shattering. He was brighter than a hundred suns, and his entire body gleamed and overflowed with so much Fantasium it felt like he was the source of all of it.
With eight muscular arms, four metallic wings, one long tail that dangled around, destroying the entire world around him by accident, and jaws capable of eating entire planets and stars.
And at long last, the strongest lifeform manifested completely.
Louis had heard many times about his great feats in the past, about what he had accomplished and done, about his incredible power, but also about how he was incapable of leaving Yggdrasil, as he was both the world's pillar and the world was the source of his strength, and vice versa.
He was the origin of the Drakeheart Family and Louis's mysterious grandfather, someone that, in the background, had been silently watching everything unfold.
Until now.
"Absolute Primordial Authority – Separation of Body, Soul, and Spirit."
With just these words, the Abyssal Mother started squirming in agony, groaning, vomiting, dying.
"AAAAEEEGGHH!"
She finally shattered the ice, showing her incredible strength and resilience as she began crawling away from him. Tears streamed from her eyes as she crushed mountains and rivers in her wake.
"AAAAHHH! NOOO! NOOOOO! LEAVE ME ALONE...! AAAAAHHHH!"
This was the first time Louis had ever witnessed the Abyssal Mother screaming from fear and running away from someone.
This was a woman that had tormented most of Earth, so immensely strong that nobody could ever oppose her, and that had tormented him for so long in his first ten regressions.
Someone that had once swallowed his entire Kingdom.
Now she was prostrating on the floor, screaming in horror as she began to melt. Her black miasmic body melted away and burned into steam, twisting and warping reality around her.
"GYAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!"
The entirety of the surroundings trembled. Large cracks opened across the continent where she stood, and if it were not for Louis protecting the planet, Earth might have exploded as well.
"Abyssal Mother, Beyonder of the Spiral of Compassion, a being barely grasping what lies beyond Tier 0. You definitely had the potential to one day reach higher realms of power, but your foolish dreams swallowed your own mind, and eventually you became your own madness incarnate. For all your crimes, and for daring to go against my dear daughter and grandson, as the Divine Dragon King, Absolute Ruler of Yggdrasil, I hereby sentence you..."
There was a pause as the Dragon King's eyes turned red, and he suddenly closed all eight of his hands, creating a crushing pressure within and outside of the Abyssal Mother's body, soul, and spirit.
"TO DEATH."
"AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!"
It was not a beautiful death. The Abyssal Mother melted away until her flesh was gone and then a giant skeleton was left. The skeleton, still moving, quickly gained cracks and shattered into white dust, dissolving through Yggdrasil.
All of what she was or once would be turned into fertilizer for the planet, healing the destruction she had caused. Her Spiral of Compassion was destroyed as well, as the Dragon King saw it held no value because of how corrupt it had become.
As for the millions of souls she had trapped in her Paradise, they floated before him. The Dragon King showcased once more why he was also known as "The Immortal Ruler of Life and Death."
"All of you, innocent souls, be healed, and return to life. You deserve a second chance."
"Absolute Primordial Authority – Resurrection of Life and Souls."
With his almighty Authority over Life as an Immortal beyond Immortals, the Dragon King rapidly healed the tortured, dark souls and recovered their original pristine forms, while gifting them all new bodies, the same as before but even stronger.
They all gasped, looking around in disbelief before turning into light and returning to Earth one by one through rays of light.
"Incredible..." Gustaf muttered, seeing things happening so far away with his augmented Psychic Senses thanks to his son's item. "T-This is...! Your mother's father... your grandfather, Louis!"
"H-He's Dragon King Drake?!" asked Mirai, realizing the immense being he was and awakening old memories carried by those that created her soul. She saw battles, blood, war, destruction, a demon king and a fairy of chaos battling against the dragon king for supremacy, aiming to destroy the world of Yggdrasil but being ultimately stopped and defeated. Out of mercy, he had chosen to give them a second chance. "A-Ah..." Mirai started crying, falling to her knees. "I... I was born because of him...?"
"...?" Louis looked back at her with surprise, only to look back at Myrghoul.
"NNNGGHHH...! I-I HAVE TO GET... I HAVE TO GET OUT OF HEREEEEEE!"
Myrghoul felt that even the air of Yggdrasil was dangerous. He felt it was constantly trying to kill him and stirring awake the dormant soul of his vessel. He began crawling away, slashing the empty air and creating a portal in space.
The portal led to the Demon Continent of Spiritias!
"Wait! You bastard! Where do you think you're taking my mother?!" Louis roared, kicking the ground and rushing toward him, bending space and throwing him away by using the space in front of him.
"Kuaaaaggh?! Damn bastard! Are you still going to oppose me?! I am stronger than you!" Myrghoul hissed, attacking Louis with all six of his fists. His Aura surged, now merged almost completely with Benladra's. It was completely titanic.
"I WILL GIVE MY LIFE AWAY TO SAVE HER!!!" Louis roared. "You will have to get through me!!!"
Louis smashed his stomach and fired Gungnir forward, piercing Myrghoul's soul once more, only for Myrghoul to laugh and regenerate his soul instantly, grabbing Louis's spear and throwing it back at him.
Louis caught it and then leaped toward him while Myrghoul transformed into his dragon-bug form, roaring and smashing Louis's head into the ground, cutting his arms off and then piercing his body with thousands of golden and red spears surging from his aura.
This was a Martial Art, a Cultivation Method that Benladra had learned, which Myrghoul had absorbed and merged with his Demonic Authority.
The Primordial Heaven Dragon Lance Intent!
"GRAAAAAHHH!"
Louis groaned, impaled hundreds of times and vomiting blood. He quickly exploded into ashes, rapidly activating Stealth and disappearing from Myrghoul's vision, only to appear behind him, covering him with hundreds of knives through Knife Throw and Poisonous Needles through Poison Dart. At the same time, a second clone of himself with 100% of his power surged through Shadow Double, and both unleashed Assassination on him simultaneously while channeling Life-Sense on their weapons.
"W-WHA...?!"
Myrghoul was genuinely shocked as he was struck hundreds of times all over his body, but his soul was the one that took the most damage. Life-Sense completely canceled his Immortal Soul and rapidly began to tear him to shreds once more.
He quickly began dividing his soul and cutting down the areas affected by Life-Sense while rebuilding himself with Immortal Soul, kicking Louis away after being left half-dead but quickly recovering once more.
"GAAAAHH...! Y-YOU DAMN...!"
It was clear now that if it were not because Myrghoul possessed Benladra's power and incredible regeneration, he would have already been torn to shreds by the prince.
"COME AT ME!"
Louis roared as Myrghoul hissed with both anger and fear, rushing at Louis to tear him to shreds and then escape to Spiritias, only for a single person to appear between the two, making them stop moving entirely.
His hands were placed on their shoulders. Tranquility reached Louis's mind and heart, and utter terror like nothing he had ever felt before filled Myrghoul's soul.
A titan emerged, humanoid in appearance, with clear white skin, long silvery-white hair, sharp dragon-like golden eyes, incredibly muscular and manly, handsome and powerful-looking, with a short white beard and divine white, silver, and golden robes like those an Immortal Cultivator would wear.
"That is enough."
His hands were covered in silver-blue scales, and his nails were gold, long, and sharp like blades. He placed his hand over Myrghoul's shoulder and then, completely ignoring Benladra's body, grasped his soul tightly.
"You will leave my daughter alone, detestable aberration from Spiritias!"
"E-Eh? W-Wait... I... UUAAAAAGGGH! HOW IS THIS POSSIBLEEEEEE?!"
Myrghoul screamed in disbelief. His Soul-Parasitizing technique was entirely canceled and destroyed as his soul was swiftly torn out of Benladra's, while leaving her completely unscathed in the process.
"M-MY SOUL IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE FUSED WITH HERS...! T-THIS IS...! AN AUTHORITY...! HIGHER THAN THE LIMITLESS ARCHDEMON VENERABLE?!"
"Huh? Who? Never heard of him before."
"...Eh?"
CRAAASH!
The Dragon King's hand tore Myrghoul from Benladra, grasping the Archdemon Soul, which rapidly unleashed its true form, becoming a titanic fly-like monstrosity roaring at him with anger.
"How dare...! How dare you! I WILL CRUSH YOU!"
Myrghoul roared, attempting to overwhelm him with his giant body, only for his body to be suddenly cut into two perfect halves with a tap of the King's hand on his body.
"G-GAH?!"
Myrghoul groaned, blood pouring from his sliced body, and then dozens of slashing attacks struck him all at once, emerging from seemingly all around him.
The King did nothing. He named no technique nor made any gesture. He simply manipulated the space around the demon and used another Authority to cut him, generating an endless rain of Sword Energy attacks that diced Myrghoul into hundreds of cubes.
"W-What is... this?!"
Myrghoul attempted to regenerate, but the dicing attack continued. Even his cells were cut through and his soul, hidden beneath the physical body he had created on the spot, was also slashed into hundreds of pieces.
Eventually, the very essence and molecules that formed his existence were cut apart. As he agonized endlessly, his body squirming in pain until...
He disappeared completely, leaving nothing behind.
"..." Louis's mouth was wide open as he gazed at the Dragon King's Dragonoid form, only to realize his mother was falling. "Mother!"
He quickly caught her with his arms, taking a hybrid form between his Ice Titan and Dragon for easier mobility, and holding his mother carefully.
"Mother..." Louis felt tears falling from his eyes as he saw his mother finally freed from that Archdemon. Her body quickly returned to her original appearance naturally.
But she was still asleep.
Then there was silence for a moment as everyone remained stunned before the presence of this mysterious man who had come here.
Even though he hadn't even said his name, they all knew who he was.
Benladra's father, the King of all Dragons, Drake.
"She's still cursed," he said, slowly walking toward Louis and his daughter.
"...Ah," Gustaf slowly stood up, walking toward him. Mirai followed him closely, and Zorba, who was utterly paralyzed, began moving behind them. "Y-You... you must be..."
"...Hm?" The King looked in Gustaf's direction. His golden eyes gleamed like exploding stars. Gustaf, Mirai, and Zorba were hit with an involuntary pressure so immense it made them almost explode. "You..." His menacing voice sent shivers down their spines as they fell to their knees, realizing the King was not a nice person who would easily speak with lowly beings such as them.
"F-Forgive me... I shouldn't have..." Gustaf muttered. "But... y-you're... are you Benladra's...?"
"I am her father, yes," he spoke, walking toward Gustaf and then glaring down at him with a menacing stare. "You must be... ah, you're her husband, aren't you?"
"Ngh...!" Gustaf felt afraid. He knew that if he moved an inch, he would split apart. He had even felt it in every single one of his cells. It was almost a vision, a threat, a warning. "I-I... yes... I am..."
"Tsk... I knew that girl was reckless but marrying a human of all things?" the King sighed with a cruel voice, crossing his arms and shaking his head. "Oh well, I was once a human... Maybe I shouldn't be so harsh on her."
"...?" Gustaf slowly looked up at the King, surprised by that last sentence.
"What are you all doing? Stop kneeling and stand up," sighed the King. "Come on! Stand!"
"Eek!" Mirai cried, standing up and nodding, nervously swallowing hard. "I-I am... I-I..."
"Ah, you're their daughter, huh? I have heard about you," the King smiled kindly. "To think Pandemonium and Chaos would have such an adorable girl... I guess that little favor I did for them ended up paying off in the end."
"Eh?" Mirai felt surprised at how the King changed his tone of voice. While referring to Gustaf with a very serious and angered voice, he was incredibly kind and fatherly with the girl.
"I-I... I guess... I am..." muttered Mirai. "Um... Your Highness? Y-You... Do you know? About... my origins?"
"I know everything there is to know," Drake spoke. The world around him seemed to stop for a moment. "I was the one who allowed your parents to reincarnate. Perhaps I was moved by their love."
"...Thank you," Mirai nodded, feeling slightly relieved to know more about herself.
"And who is the one behind you?" Louis raised an eyebrow. "Ah... A Half-Demon from Spiritias?"
"...It's an honor," Zorba lowered his head in reverence. "I-I am a humble servant of your grandson."
"I see. I've also had plenty of brothers in my life," said the King with a warm smile. "Now."
The King stepped toward his grandson, noticing his father had caught up to him, staring at his wife and holding her hand with sorrowful eyes.
"I wish we could have met in different circumstances, Grandfather," Louis said. "But... nonetheless, thank you for helping us."
"You did the right thing coming here," Drake said. "Now... Benladra, haaa... to think this would be how I see my daughter after all this time. You've truly been one reckless girl."
"..." Gustaf did not know what to say and remained silent. "I'm sorry... I... I couldn't protect her. I... please... if you want to punish someone..."
"What are you even talking about?!" the King roared. The world itself trembled.
"E-Eh?!" Gustaf gasped.
"You think my girl will be happy if I kill her husband?! Are you out of your mind or something?" sighed the King, shaking his head. "Hey Louis, is your dad this dumb?"
"Hahaha, well..." Louis ended up laughing out of nowhere, realizing his grandpa was not as hard to deal with as he had originally imagined.
"You didn't say no?" Gustaf asked, feeling a little sad but laughing along afterward. "Hahaha... well, I... am not well known for taking the best decisions... I honestly wonder how she even fell in love with me..."
"Yeah, I wonder the same!" the Dragon King clicked his tongue. "But... what's done is done, I guess, and from that a wonderful grandson was made, so it isn't half bad. Nonetheless, you're at least not bad enough to leave her alone, and you were there, looking for her this entire time, weren't you?"
"...I was," Gustaf said. "I've been protecting her, doing everything in my power to save her... But it seems that I was unable to reach a conclusion at the end. We're here now. Surely you can easily heal her, right, Your Highness?"
"...Nope, I can't," the King sighed.
"...?"
"W-What?!"
Gustaf and Louis were left speechless, glaring at the Dragon King after his simple response that left them completely shocked.
"I would have already done so the moment I removed that bug from her," sighed the King. "That Curse isn't what you think it is, you see... my girl, my daughter, she's tough, so she has been surviving this entire time but..."
"What is it then?!" Louis asked.
"It is a... well, a Dimension," said the King. "Whatever she fought, it sought to completely destroy her, but my daughter ended up being stronger. Thus, in a last attempt, that thing... a Living Dimension, a Level 10 Grievance, parasitized her body and has been trying to eat her from the inside out this entire time."
"E-Eh?" Gustaf was shocked. "I thought she defeated that thing— Wait!"
Suddenly, Gustaf remembered a lot of investigations and papers that had once said there was something strange. Dimensional waves were coming from her own soul. "So that's it?!"
"If it's a dimension, can't you remove it?" Louis asked.
"I can, but her soul will be sucked inside if I try, then... destroyed," explained the King. "What makes her soul immortal is that it is fused with her body. Once that separation is created... Benladra will..."
"I see..." Louis nodded. "Then what... what can we do?"
"Well, the key is in you, Louis... and maybe your stupid father," the King smiled at them both. "I need your help. Would you give me a hand?"
"...!"
"...?!"
Both were once more speechless that the Dragon King actually needed someone else's help, and theirs no less.
After some silence, the prince finally spoke again.
"What can we do?" Louis asked.
The Dragon King walked toward Benladra's body and then asked Louis to let him have her. He gently passed her to his arms, as father and daughter were finally reunited.
"My dear daughter..." the King sighed, finally showing some signs of sorrow, kissing her forehead. "You've done well for enduring for so long..."
After that, he simply willed it, and a large bed where she could rest manifested, surrounded by a vast white palace.
There, Louis and Gustaf entered, following Drake as he placed his daughter on her new bed. Behind them were Mirai and Zorba, watching attentively.
"Gustaf, tell me about your research. It might help me figure out one last thing I don't know about this being," said Drake.
"Ah... of course," Gustaf had photographic memory, and even if his entire work was destroyed, it was all inside his mind. "May I share it through Telekinesis? It will be faster this way. Thoughts travel faster than words."
"Fine," the King nodded, establishing a Telekinetic Channel with his grandson and Gustaf. "Surprised? Yeah, I am also an Esper. Now tell me everything you know."
Thus, they shared information. It only took five minutes for the Dragon King to learn everything he needed to know about Gustaf's research.
"Incredible. You were able to figure that out without all the equipment we had here?" asked the King. "You're... not bad. So you were able to figure out a way to synthesize Fantasium into ethereal matter that can be phased through, and you were able to detect the dimensional waves inside her heart too."
"Part of the research I couldn't conclude due to everything happening was leading to a way to create a Fantasium Dimensional Rift," explained Gustaf. "My last resort on healing her would be to enter the Fantasy Dimension through the power of her curse..."
"And that might be what we needed," the Dragon King nodded. "Fascinating... even in my years, I suppose I always learn something new. Perhaps... it truly is good to have different minds working on something."
"I-I don't deserve such praise. Thank you so much," Gustaf said.
"And now, my grandson, you've mastered the ability to imprint your own Fantasy upon others' hearts, and hearts are souls," explained the King. "That is a power not even I have figured out, mostly because I rejected Spirals after realizing the scheme of Oblivion. However, your Spiral and that of that girl, or everyone around you... are different. They almost don't even feel like his creations."
"Spirals?" asked Louis. "Wait, you know about what they are?"
"Maybe," the King said. "We can discuss this later, when we save your mother. Now..."
"Wait, what about Camelot and the rest?" asked Louis, remembering them. "All three of the major Kingdoms in this world are being attacked by powerful beings that serve Oblivion...!"
"Ah, that? Don't worry. I have sent some friends to deal with that. They should be wrapping things up as we speak," said the Dragon King.
"Friends?" Louis asked.
"Below me there's my daughter, but there are also others that can almost compare to our power. They are known as the Dragon Family Kings," explained Drake. "Each Dragon Family represents a different element, from Fire, Wind, Water, Earth, Light, Darkness, and so on... And among these Familiars, there are those that have risen to such a level they are regarded as the King of their own species. Those are the Elemental Dragon Kings. While I am the King of all Dragons, they are the Kings of their Dragon Species in particular..."
"...!!!" Louis suddenly felt several tremendously powerful presences arriving on Earth and beginning to "wrap things up" as Drake had said. "Wait, does that mean that Drakda and Amethyst are weaker?"
"No, but when divine dragons are away from Yggdrasil for long they can lose power," said Drake. "My daughter too has begun to rapidly re-awaken her powers, as you can see by her growing vitality. Don't worry, they'll be fine..."
The Dragon King, Louis, and Gustaf glanced into the distance, sensing these presences moving across the globe.
