Chapter 214: Fake Dragon VS True Dragons [3]
Chapter 214: Fake Dragon VS True Dragons [3]
"To make sure you do not break your promise easily," Louis said, placing the same contract curse upon them. "Let us place this here. Yes… With this, I now feel more confident."
"Ugh, you are insane," Tiamat groaned.
"It is unbelievable how little you trust us…" Yudrak said.
"Of course I do not trust you. This is the first time I have ever met you," Louis sighed. "Did you think I would greet you warmly and lower my head before your might? While you have led perfect lives, I have struggled every single day since my mother fell into a slumber. Your families never did anything to help her or her kingdom either."
"That is not…!" Tiamat tried to speak but fell silent. After a minute, she nodded. "You are right. We did not do anything…" She accepted the truth surprisingly fast, showing she was indeed quite mature.
"…I misjudged you, Louis," Yudrak said. "You are strong. I should not have blindly listened to the rumors. You are not someone weak. You are someone with admirable strength and wits. Perhaps, if you do not mind, we could become friends?"
"Hm, friends?" Louis wondered, falling silent for a moment. "I do not know if that is possible so soon, but you can come visit me for advice. We can spar together. I am always ready for a fight. The only way to grow stronger is by endlessly polishing and refining your body and soul. We might be enjoying a time of peace right now, but soon that will change forever."
"…? What do you mean?" Tiamat asked.
"I mean what I said," Louis replied. "Now, let us return outside. It has been a long day."
Tiamat and Yudrak nodded. Louis quickly returned them outside. The battles had already finished by then. Once the duels were finally over, Louis noticed the wound on his back finishing its regeneration. It had been quite deep, but nothing too troubling.
"U-Unbelievable… House Frostbane wins the Duel…!" the director muttered, his eyes wide with awe as he gazed at Louis. "Y-You are way too strong…"
"Haha, naturally," Louis laughed. "House Frostbane is the strongest in the academy, and it will remain that way until the end. But you are all welcome to try, losers. I am willing to become your worst enemy. So you had better get ready. We are going to make your lives hell."
"Bastard…"
"How dare you…"
"Ugh, this son of a bitch…"
"Haaaa… I am exhausted…"
"Aaagh, my entire body hurts…"
"House Frostbane is full of monsters. How is this even possible?!"
"Prince Louis is way too strong. This is unfair!"
"Mirai too. She is a monster…"
"Did you see that nerd, Timothy? He was too strong! What the hell? It does not make sense that someone as lame as him is so strong!"
"Augh, those two kids are stronger than I imagined…"
Louis laughed at their reactions. He decided to embrace his original role and play the part of an antagonist, a villainous figure for all these students who lacked real motivation.
"If you are so frustrated about being weak and pathetic, then grow stronger," he said. "I will be here waiting for you to come so I can beat you again and show you your place, under my foot."
"Tsk…!"
"Bastard!"
"I will beat you…!"
"Who does he think he is?! Seriously! I cannot stand him!"
"He is the prince of Frostbane, and he has the strength to back up his words. Is he not quite right? If we do not train and have a clear goal and motivation, we will fall flat and never catch up to him."
Among the complaining students, someone stepped forward. It was Arthur's sister, Ingrid. She glanced at Louis with respect but clear defiance.
"Louis, this is not over yet. We will win one day," she said. "Arthur, we have to keep training."
"I know…" Arthur muttered, his face filled with frustration and heavily bruised. "I will make sure to beat you one day, Louis Drakeheart… but until then, I respect your strength."
As the House of Camelot walked away, Yamato addressed him. Kaguya had not joined the fight with her brother and only stared at Louis with even greater fear after what she had witnessed.
"I-I am deeply sorry for what the members of my House did, Lord Louis," she sighed. "I promise it will not happen again…"
"No, it is fine. Encourage their fighting spirit and tell them to come fight me anytime they want," Louis said honestly. "You and your brother should start sparring more and growing stronger. Stop being comfortable with your weakness. There is nothing more disgusting than that."
"…!" Kaguya trembled for a moment, then nodded uncontrollably. "O-Okay! I-I understand! Let us go…! Ah, Rinkah! Reina, what are you doing?"
But a pair of members from Yamato remained behind, glaring at Louis with bodies covered in bruises and arms crossed.
The Oni Sisters, Rinkah and Reina.
"This is not over!" Reina roared. "We will grow even stronger. Next time, you will face the two of us together!"
"Yeah!" Rinkah nodded. "We will not give up! A-And that hit before was cheating! You threw me off the ring!"
"Hahah, I am glad to know you have such great fighting spirits!" Louis said with a nod and a handsome smile. "Rinkah, Reina, you are forever welcome at House Frostbane. If you ever want to switch houses, people with such spirit and talent will always be warmly welcomed and given everything I can offer."
"…?!"
"W-What are you implying?!"
Both girls were left flabbergasted. Rinkah blushed as she touched her chest, seemingly slightly charmed by his sudden kindness, while Reina also blushed but looked more confused and barked angrily.
"I mean everything I said. You are welcome," Louis replied.
"Ugh, let us go, Rinkah. Stop looking at him like that!" Reina said angrily, dragging her bigger sister away.
"B-But Reina, was he not being sincere? A-And why is my heart beating so fast? Ah, is he not a little handsome?" Rinkah asked.
"He totally got you! He knows he has charm, damn it. Forget about him. We must keep our loyalty to Yamato!" Reina barked.
Lastly, House Mesopotamia remained, staring at Louis with defiant eyes. Their lord, Ashur, smiled rather pleased despite his heavily bruised and disfigured face.
"Louis, thank you for the sparring match. Next time it will not be so simple," Ashur said before walking away without another word. The rest of his house followed silently.
"Whatever you say, sore loser," Louis said with a smile, then glanced back at his team. "Is everyone alright?"
"Ugh…" Mirai and the rest of his house lay on the floor, resting from sheer exhaustion.
"It was intense…" Timothy said. "I have never used my power so desperately or so much…"
"I really thought I was going to die," Anastasia added.
"T-This was too much…" Agustina cried.
"Hehehe, it was fun!" Selene chuckled.
"Of course you would think that. You love fighting…" Melisa giggled.
"I-I… I need some rest, my lord," Zorba sighed.
"Alright, well done," Louis nodded. "Let us return home for now. Come on, stand up. Our servants must have already prepared a comfortable dinner for everyone."
As Louis spoke, everyone slowly stood and walked by his side. On the way out, he approached the director.
"I suppose classes are over already," he said.
"Louis…" the director sighed. "Last time I heard about you, you had not awakened a single ability or power. Now look at you…"
"Hello, Louis," his father was there as well. "I came to see your first day, but it seems it ended well."
"It sure did," Louis nodded. "Come, let us have dinner together in the house assigned to us."
"Thank you, son," Gustaf nodded, following his son.
That night, Louis, Mirai, his father, and everyone else from House Frostbane enjoyed a great dinner, a series of delicious meals prepared by Catrise and the others.
