Spirit Taming

Chapter 95: Pulled Aside

Chapter 95: Pulled Aside

It seemed that Professor Wright was holding Clark and Isa to a higher standard than others. She had seen that they possessed strength above the other students within the elite class. That was all too clear to everyone watching. However, they also should use that high standing to expand their sight.

"Professor Stewart. Please take my place while I have a word with my student here. It appears he has been keeping a few things hidden and I need to have a strict meeting." Clark didn't feel confident about this. One of the nearby professors nodded. They understood why Professor Wright would want this.

After being pulled to a side room attached to each arena for healers, Clark was looking right at Professor Wright's harsh glare. "Now, explain what I just saw."

"Well…I may have found a way to open a taming space with certain materials that really worked for me. After a lot of energy gathering, I was able to open it. It's not complete but it's a start. I think I am actually pretty far from complete." Clark knew that he only had about a fifth of eden's end unlocked. He couldn't use the full power of his training space for Devi and Crim to grow.

He wasn't sure if they could even grow in the taming space as they were now.

"I see, and you didn't consult myself? Did you think to consult your mentor?" This seemed to hit Clark even harder. This was exactly the reason the professors were around or the students had a mentor. So ensure that there would be a safe place to open a taming space without damaging their foundations.

"I opened it without my mentor knowing then was told not to let my beast battle. After I waited a few days I came back to class. I also learned that while training I was able to better understand the changes in my body. I am still adapting to the taming space." Clark didn't hide much. He knew that everyone would gossip about this.

It was just more social power that Clark might have in the future to wield.

It appeared that professor Wright was flustered by what Clark had just said. In all her years of teaching an elite class or class in general, she had never had this happen. A genius would show up now and then to shake things up, but for Clark to open a taming space so early without any guidance from a mentor or professor, it was astounding.

"I will need to report this to the headmaster. It will not come with any penalties but you may be rewarded and asked to participate in an additional class." Professor Wright knew that such an achievement could not go unrewarded. If it did, the academy would look cheap but also the determination of students would suffer.

"Now, back to class. We will have another round after everyone takes a break. I expected you to struggle against Isa a little more since she has a unique skill from her family. Now I will have to hold you to a high standard when facing whoever wins their fights." Professor Wright seemed to have aged five years hearing what Clark had achieved on top of his victory.

"I'm sorry for the inconvenience. Maria and I trained nonstop the entire week…" There was a little sadness for the stress Clark was causing his professor. Yet, he felt proud to be able to stun such a powerful person in charge of the elite students.

"There is nothing wrong. That does, however, explain why Maria seems to be a different person. She is much more determined than before. She even has a proper battle style. It's shaky but better. Keep it up.

She may become your greatest partner in the wild." Professor Wright knew just how important a supporter was in the wilds. It was a very hard position to fill on a team.

"I understand. Thank you." Clark and professor Wright returned to the class to find that they were already resting. Their small class size proved to be the key to the speed at which the remainder of the battles finished. Professor Stewart handed professor Wright a paper with the results so she could prepare.

"Is everything alright? You didn't get in to trouble, did you? I know you beat Isa fast…but it wasn't that bad." Maria feared that Clark was going to be punished and unable to attend classes again. If this was the case she would have to skip class to go out and train with him. If she didn't he might end up in some wild place fighting who knows what.

"I was reprimanded. I didn't come to anyone for guidance to open my taming space…" Clark was sure that Maria had been worried. It was painted right on her face. "But I was told I might be rewarded and given an extra class."

This extra class made Maria's face drop. "That means I will have notes to share with you. I can't have you falling behind me now." The smile blossomed on Maria's face again. It made Clark feel a little too distracted science the class was still going on and professor Wright was trying to get everyone's attention.

"We have narrowed it down to a smaller portion of students. Based on performance we will have the top four battle instead of following a traditional battle tournament. We also need to save time for the students to debate the things they saw. It will be enlightening for all of you t hear the process in which others dissect battle strategy."

This idea didn't sound bad to any of the students. They would have battle strategy classes at some point. It was to be expected due to the fact that they may choose to go in to the army or city guard.

"Clark will fight against Ralph. Isa, you will continue and fight against Maria. The rest of you may watch and write a small paper about why I have partnered these people against each other. This is extra credit so today is your lucky day!" Professor Wright wanted to encourage everyone to develop their opinions too. She wanted them to look deeper at her decision within these battle choices.

"I'm not ready to kick you around just yet. But I will show you what I learned recently." Ralph knew he was still not on the same foot with Clark. Admitting it was a very big deal and was fairly telling of how mature Ralph had to be to continue improving.

"I won't hold back. Just show me the best you have. I might even try out a new spear move." Clark goaded Ralph in to a higher energy situation. He wanted to see the needle boar go wild. He wanted to see just how tough it would be to deal with a beast that was at the same growth level as Lit but focused on battle.

"If you held back it wouldn't be worth fighting you. Only a worthless rival holds back." Ralph spoke with calm which Clark didn't expect. He didn't think that he would be seen as a rival for Ralph now that he had shown off another thing that put him ahead. It was odd to be someone's rival. This had never happened in Clark's current or previous life.
