Spirit Taming

Chapter 79: Carried Home

Chapter 79: Carried Home

Maria couldn't just rest there while Clark fell asleep. She had to get stronger too, she hated the fact that she was clearly the weaker one between them. If she didn't find a way to keep up then she would just be a burden. She had to help Clark and bring down the abusive family she had been born from.

This resolve was felt by Lit as well. Their bond had become stronger after Lit had thrown herself at Maria's older brother to keep Maria safe while injured. It was a commitment that proved they were more than just tamer and spirit beast. Their souls were nearly completely bound together.

"Lit, absorb as much spiritual energy as you possibly can from this area. I want you to have all of it ready when you absorb the vial of dragon's breath." The reaction from Lit was simple. She curled her tentacles before floating off towards the longest spiritual energy within the Nova academy cemetery. While this happened, Maria began to train.

Since she could focus on her dagger skills while Clark drifted off to sleep, she could become more accustomed to them. She also had her bow and arrows within her spatial ring. Therefore, she did not stop firing arrows and switching to dagger attacks the entire day and in to the setting sun.

"Maria?" Clark had slept all the way through the day. His exhaustion paired with Devi and Crim's was intense. Yet, he was awoken by the sound of something falling to the grass beside him.

"Hmmermmm…tired." Maria was collapsed on the grass right next to Clark. She seemed to have fallen asleep standing up. Lirt had fallen to the ground resting right beside her. Lit was a shade of deep blue showing the intense amount of spiritual energy that she had forcefully absorbed for when the full moon would rise.

It was more than clear to see how much Maria had trained while Clark was resting. He could see the pushed down grass that had been worn away from Maria's movements. He saw the many small trees and even some broken gravestones with arrows around them. She had pushed herself to the limit.

"Lit, are you able to heal Maria's hands?" Lit moved a tentacle over Maira and a soft glow warmed her cut and now calloused hands. "You both look like you need some rest. Let me wake up Crim so we can carry you home." Lit relaxed again seeing that Clark was getting up.

"Crim, we rested long…" Clark looked at Crim to see that he was smaller than he had been.

'The skill condense was learned through the absorption of unique spatial energy. The typing and species characteristics were not altered by the addition of this energy. Only a unique skill was awakened. The condense skill allows the slime species with said skill to condense their slime in to smaller forms.

It also allows the release of the skill to return to the natural size of the slime using said skill.'

The system responded before Clark even went to ask what had happened. He felt this was more than an amazing boon from the dragon bone. It had allowed Crim to gain a skill that could massively throw off opponents and make them believe that they were weaker than them. It would go leaps and bounds in protecting them during a fight.

Crim's reaction was sluggish. He was having a hard time adjusting to the skill so he had to release it. "We will work on training it after you help me get Maria home. Just carry Lit on your back while Devi helps keep you balanced. Once they are home we will look at the taming space and see what it's like. The promise to look at the taming space was all Devi and Crim needed as motivation.

Luckily the night was drifting on and the moon was rising, now one stopped Clark from carrying Maria and Lit right to bed and letting her sleep to recuperate. Upon leaving her, Clark realized that he was covered in grass, some first, and didn't smell very well. His immediate reaction was to go and clean himself.

"I was here waiting for more than long enough." Alexander was sitting at the desk in Clark's room. His face said he was anything but happy. "An explanation?"

"I didn't know you were coming, you shouldn't just drop by since I used your authority to leave the academy, and I was opening my taming space." Clark listed off the excuses one after the other with some sass. He had just walked back from the student bathing area to find Alexander in his room. It was understandable that he would not be the most welcoming.

"I may have given you my authority to leave the academy but you can't- what!?" Alexander had grasped what Clark had just said last. It was not something that a normal person would casually say. Therefore, Alexander rushed to grab Clark by the shoulders to get a closer look.

Upon feeling the energy around Clark, Alexander could tell that opening his taming space was not a lie. "How did you manage to do this? What method? You should have months left before you even near the ability to do so? What materials did you use to cause this?' The questions rolled off of Alexander's tongue in a flurry while he paced around the room in distress. It was simply too out there to believe.

"Here, this is a letter from a man named Spencer. He gave me a zombie dragon heart that I used as a core to my taming space. I used a bunch of other materials related to dragons and death energy. It worked wall. I have yet to explore the space but I know I am too weak to access all of what it can do."

With more information, Alexander felt he was shocked again. "Then you will tell me every detail. I will deal with that old man myself at another time. He was always one to forcefully bribe people in to going to a dungeon. He is greedy and… Nevermind. Just explain." Clark found himself forced to explain everything he could.

With Crim and Devi next to him, Clark looked in to the taming space again. Eh felt that he was only feeling a small part of it. There was a small cemetery with all the materials he had gathered growing. The larger area around it seemed off limits. On top of this, Clark could sense more areas under ground and even in the sky. The taming space was surely vast compared to what Clark realized earlier.

Along with this, Clark could feel the energy of the world being pulled within his taming space. It was certain that he would be able to fuel it with more dragon essence and deathly energies. It was just a matter of getting them.

"You will have those to rest within your taming space while meditating from now on. Do not fight anyone or anything for three days. That is a rule. You must familiarize yourself with how your energy flows. If you ruin it you will lose all your power to internal injuries." Alexander left Clark with this before leaving. "That child will put me in an early grave.

To think he has a named taming space. He's like me." Alexander mumbled while leaving the dormitory and the academy to head toward the antique shop he had not intended to visit.
