Chapter 78: The Taming Space
Chapter 78: The Taming Space
"How did you? Where did this energy come from?" Clark felt that it just didn't make any sense that Devi would arrive back to him with so much deathly energy stored. What was even more surprising were the large amounts of darkness and spiritual energy that trailed around Devi. it was as if he had soaked in them somehow.
"Clark, lit came back after feeling it too." Lit was floating around collecting the spiritual energy that rolled off of Devi.
"Maria, I think it's time. Devi seems like he already wants to help. Crim is absorbing the spatial dragon bone. I need to try and open my taming space. I have some materials and a spooky place that fits my spirit beast" Clark realized that this might be the opportune moment.
'The host is advised to enter a meditative state first.'
The system reacted wanting to guide Clark as it had before. "Then you can rely on us. We will wait here no matter how long it takes. Just focus on what you need to do." With Maria and Lit watching over them, Clark was at ease. He needed all of his attention on one thing.
The zombie dragon's heart fell to the grass in front of him. He pulled the bones, grasses, and cemetery stones from his spatial ring as well. When the small death gem was pulled out of the spatial ring, Clark felt some form of resonance. Furthermore, Clark pulled the dragon lily enhancing the feeling of surety.
When Clark pulled the rot lord slime crystal from his spatial ring, he wondered if it was better to use it on the taming space, or to allow Devi and Crim to consume the energies within. Yet, he had no choice in the matter. The materials he had started to vibrate together as if they were singing as parts of the same song.
The beat of Clark's heart and the dragon zombie heart started to match up causing Clark's breathing to slow until it appeared to stop.
'The host must pull energy from his beasts and his own soul. The taming space is the manifestation that is created within one's soul. To pursue its creation, one must allow the energy and materials to become one with them.'
The advice sounded simple but was actually very complicated. Clark had to somehow pull everything in to his soul which was not even a physical place. The beating zombie dragon heart began to feel closer and closer. It was as if Clark heard it throughout his entire being. The scent of fresh grass and rotting bones caught in his nose before a powerful floral scent overtook them both.
Clark wasn't sure what was going on. He had his eyes closed and he was focusing on the energy flowing through him, Crim, and Devi. all of it seemed to pour endlessly within the very core of who Clark was.
'Allow the energy to condense in to the center of your soul. Feel the opening of space to hide this energy and build itself in to the ideal shape. It is not the host that decides what form the energy takes but the energy itself. The materials are just the catalyst.'
The system spoke again within Clark's mind. He felt that what it was saying was fair. The energy and materials made his taming space unique. It was not the fact that he was building it. He had no control over what his soul was and how it existed. Just that he could provide it with what it needed to flourish.
The sudden pulse of energy from within caused Clark to shiver violently. He felt that he was in the middle of the icy plains during the coldest winter. He felt that he had entered an endlessly cold and dark abyss without any life or sound within. However, he did feel pressure. A pressure that made him want to push back.
With a hardened focus, Clark pushed all the energy he had received from Devi and Crim toward the center of his being. This last push caused a small orb of light to appear within his minds eyes before he was forced to look back around him with his own two real eyes.
'The host has completed the unique taming space; eden's end. Life was born within the eden created by gods. However, that eden has become the final resting place for grounds and men alike. There is but peace and serenity as life and death dance in their everlasting balance.'
The space that Calrk looked in to within the announcement from his system was tremendous. He saw towering stones that one could never fathom. Graves lines under large trees. Fields of dragon lilies surrounded by the bones of beasts that Clark wasn't even sure were those he had added as a material. He felt the thrum of life and death energies intertwining to create a silent but beautiful place.
Unfortunately, Clark had used a great amount of mental energy. He had exhausted the energy that Devi had brought him and with the awakening of Crim, he had begun to absorb more energy. Devi and Crim had struggled to pull energy from around them to fuel the opening of the taming space. Every single elemental crystal within Clark's spatial ring had been bled dry.
It had all gone to form the connection with the pace that didn't feel like his but also felt that it was meant for him to take.
'Quest- the host has found their unique taming space. They are able to allow their beasts within and without when in need. However, the host is not the owner of Edens end. The space was connected and brought to be by those long since gone. The host is just the current owner. Awaken the five sections of eden's end to become the gravekeeper of edens end.
Reward- to be determined'
This taming space was nothing that Clark could understand. Edens end seemed to be some sort of taming space left behind by those that created the world. The feeling that the system was holding back a great deal of knowledge did not help. Clark wanted to know who the creator was that bestowed this system. That made such a place. Yet, Clark lacked the power to learn such things.
Even his taming space was limited when he opened it.
"Clark? Are you finally done?" Maria sounded shaky. Clark opened his eyes and looked at her, seeing that the grass around him was half overgrown and green while the other half was dead and dry. The sun seemed to be setting which didn't make any sense.
After seeing the confused look on Clark's face, Maria elaborated. "You have been sitting there for more than a day just still. Then the grass started to grow really fast before dying and growing and dying. I thought there was something wrong." The worry that made Maria's voice shaky was added to the fact that she had not left Clark's side for a second in over twenty four hours.
She could not let him be in danger.
"I…I succeeded but it's complicated. Can we just stay here for a while?" Clark rested his back on the ground while Maria sat down next to him. He wasn't sure what to do or think. He had a whole new mystery to solve and work toward. Yet, he didn't even know how to do it.
