Chapter 773: Just Go Ahead

Chapter 773: Just Go Ahead

When the crystal gauntlets slammed down on the iron flow penguin's head again, there was a cracking sound. Both metal feathers and crystals shards fell to the ground. But the crystal shards were drawn back towards Isa and reformed the gauntlet without issue.

She deftly leaped off the back of the iron flow penguin which was standing taller than her at this point. But from what they could all see, she had done a decent amount of damage to it. Instead of using energy to call water toward it and fly through the air again, it was waddling side to side confused.

In its disoriented state, the iron flow penguin could barely call a little water toward itself, yet, as it did that, grace moved. She and her youngling winter phoenix sent out arrows of ice. They hit the growing water around the iron flow penguin and froze it in place.

This perfect timing came together as Isa burst forward with another gust of wind. Her crystal gauntlet crushing the head of the iron flow penguin before she stored its body away with a small amount of glee.

Her energy was infectious. The way that Isa felt right now was full of power and general excitement. She had never expected to be able to fight like this so freely. It was similar to those she had seen with armor like Brad. their partners defended their bodies from large amounts of damage. Right now, her crystal golem fused with her was doing the same.

Because this style of combat was not what she normally did, it was odd. However, she had trained this style for a specific reason that she didn't want to be a one trick pony of sorts. She wanted to be able to adapt to any situation without being the one that held everyone back. Right now, this was the ideal chance for this.

"We can push ahead faster with Grace and I using wind to speed through the battles." Isa tried her best to encourage everyone to keep pushing forward more. Maria just gave Clark a slight nod. She was very glad that Isa was showing a more brutal side of herself than normal. This was making things much easier.

The screaming and the screeching that broke the silence that they had all been finding after beating the iron flow penguin, made Isa and Grace use their wind energy to push ahead without another word. They needed to stop whatever was happening.

To their dismay, the sound was coming from exactly what they thought it was coming from.

The screeching was a younger, recently born, iron flow penguin. The screaming was coming from a younger girl that had been taken out of a cage on the back of whatever the monster they were looking at was.

The scaled monster that was pouring potions on the two and pushing them in to the same cage was definitely trying to create more monsters. From what Jerold spotted too, it had just been left behind to experiment here while the rest of the group went ahead.

"That would be the one with webbed feet. It's experimenting with water type beasts and those four kids still in the cage on its back." Jerold wasn't sure what else to say to Clark as Clark began to analyze the situation.

This massive monster was easily carrying two cages. One that he had forced the girl and a beast in to, and another with four more children within it. It was strong enough to carry its own experimental subjects and keep experimenting as it moved. Nothing good could come with it being here.

'Swamp fish man- monster

A fish man is a beast recognized by existence and found in unique worlds, however, this is a swamp fish man. A monster created through fusing a swamp dwelling catfish beast with a human. The odds are that it also mutated due to living in a rotting environment. Hence how the fishman can become a monster on its own world, the swamp fishman.

However, that process is slightly different and involves madness.

This monster is intelligent enough to be able to continue its terrible work af6ter it believes it was saved by another monster. Through abuse and other methods, it has created demented water type monsters trying to replicate itself in another form.

It has a powerful water and a sloth darkness affinity. The darkness affinity leaves it with a slightly rotting odor and the ability to contaminate water it touched or lives in. Its strong body came from the mutation mentioned before. It would normally be frail and thin with madness driving it. However, since it has intelligence, it was able to eat and grow in to a monster above its normal stature.

The strength it has can easily break stones…'

"It might attack you with decaying darkness energy. Otherwise, crush it while we rescue the kids-"

"Shut it Clark. Isa is going to handle that monster, I will take the kids to free them. Reese is catching up again and will handle that poor girl and what she has just become. If she can be put to rest without pain, he will do it." Grace never took this much harshness. But here she was putting Clark back on a path toward the other cultists.

"Experimental subject three hundred and seven. Failure to produce mutation within rebirth. Releasing it."

The grumbly choice that Isa and Grace heard made them hate this even more. But what they hated the most was the thin and spindly body of a monster just formed in front of them. They could see spots where skin and feathers fused improperly. They could see that the rigid metal feathers cut the skin where it appeared. But worse off yet, they could tell that the monster wasn't even vicious.

It was just in pain due to the feathers cutting it and making it bleed.

Any semblance that it had once been a young ice flow penguin and a young girl was gone. Her features were nearly gone while the penguin was mostly visible in its form. Worse off yet, the pained voice did not stop while it tried to stand up to move. Being driven by nothing but pain.

While Clark, Maria, and Jerold kept pursuing the other cultists, the battle continued for Isa and Grace. They knew that Reese would be catching back up and handling the monster tossed to the ground as a sad failure. But they also understood that the monster had noticed them.

"New subjects. One unique."

The mind of the swamp fish man was clearly not processing much other than following the experiments that it knew. That was all it could do. Identify new subjects, then use them as materials. A broken mind that could do nothing but this. clearly, it had a lot of use within the blood moon cultists.

Without any hesitation, the swamp fish man took off the large metal cage on its back. The four children screamed in fear since they expected that they would be used as the next subjects. However, they watched as the swamp fish man made its way toward the two people who had just appeared out of nowhere.

"Perfect timing!" Grace stepped forward, the youngling winter phoenix pushed her along with extra wind energy. Isa moved at the same time. But she headed straight for the large scaled body of the swamp fishman. Its dark green scales were covered in something slick.

Isa found this out the hard way as the crystal gauntlet hit its side and she slipped forward, tumbling on the ground before leaping back to her feet.

"Poor coordination, high energy threshold. Useful experimental subject." The rough voice spoke like it was just watching some animal in a cage. Not fighting whatsoever.

But now Isa was close enough to see that it had thin sharp teeth on its oddly stretched out face. The girls were just one part of whatever allowed it to move on land easily. While Isa tried to decide how she would change attacks, the swamp fish man lunged at her. It reached out with webbed hands trying to ensure that it could keep this useful material it had found.

Grace threw out a hand and with it came multiple ice needles. She had formed an ice wall defending the four children. She didn't have the time to break open the cage, but knew that with additional defense that the kids would be safe.

Her distraction made the swamp fishman look at her carefully. It was about to say something when Isa slammed a fist in to its arm. The swamp fish man had moved to dodge even without focusing on isa at all. Its instincts were stronger than what either had expected.

The hit didn't do much but crack a few scales. The fish man was still looking at Grace while it started to slam a hand down on to the ground in an attempt to capture Isa. "Isa, we will have to change tactics again!' grace saw that Isa might not be able to muster enough strength to harm this monster.
