Chapter 763: Guarding Monster

Chapter 763: Guarding Monster

There wasn't a way that Clark could say that he knew what floor the base of the blood moon cutlists were on. Well, that was only partially true. Devi had been invisible this entire time. He had been prepared to fight if need be, but he had not wanted to be seen. A defending role so to speak.

"My partner just came by from the dungeon. He scouted down to the fifth floor while avoiding any beast energy he sensed. That's where the most danger is. I would say that's where the base is." Clark said this in a tone that left it up for debate.

This was common with people who did not have their beasts specifically for scouting. But those that had beasts for combat that could scout a little might get a few vague ideas. The elves believed Clark instantly. Mostly because they did not think that the humans were far enough along to scout properly in the first place.

"If there are five floors then this dungeon might be troublesome. I assume they did not stop there. More floors have to be below it. Whether you are correct or not, we will be breaking in to that dungeon now."

With the way the dwarf commander replied, it was clear that he doubted this information. However, he did show the common courtesy that came with trusting Clark and his group. They had not shown any reasons to distrust them yet. Plus, they had helped save many of their people. It would be foolish to throw that away when their alliance was united so strongly.

"There's something blocking the entrance to that dungeondin though. We can all see it. It's not normal." one of the scouting elves that had just gained the courage to risk moving closer to the dungeon standing out in the open had returned.

This had taken a lot of focus since many of the scouts left behind had just been found to be part of a monster. The scouts with weaker wills now feared pushing ahead for this battle. But this one had done so to discover what had been waiting for them at the dungeon entrance.

"There are metal parts all over the front entrance. They look like some kind of chains, but they are shaking now and then. A monster maybe."

"I can see it from here, it's hiding in the rocky and sandy ground in front of the entrance. It's moving now and then to block more of the entrance while we wait. It might be a guard of sorts." the captain of the elves was able to spot it with his sharper eyes. As he focused, he could tell that the chain like creature was trying to move without being noticed.

"Let me look, I should be able to get some information about it with my eyes." Clark had not been hiding this. He knew that both the dwarves and the elves had already assumed he had a unique skill associated with his eyes. Just based on his analysis of beasts that they had all witnessed.

Knowing that the humans were not hiding secrets at such an important time, made them all trust his knowledge more now.

'Sealing chain serpent- monster

A sealing chain snake and its tamer were forced to fuse during an experiment creating the sealing chain serpent. This is a singular heart connected to a hundred smaller chain snakes. This transformation left only the heart of the tamer behind to fuel the growth of this monster more and more over time.

It has a massive weakness due to this form, but it is able to use a much more powerful sealing skill. Due to this, it is able to force a large dungeon to remain open at all times. It is also able to restrict the entrance so that others can or can not enter and exit based on certain rules.

Because it lacks strength, it is easily controlled by more powerful monsters or beings in general. Just beware the acidic poison that it possesses due to the metal and slight poison typing it possesses.

There is a high chance that it will hide most of its bodies to ambush those that wish to attack it or enter its territory…'

"If someone has a beast that can attack from a distance using earth skills, do it now. There are a hundred smaller chan snakes attached to a tamer's heart. That monster uses the heart to gather energy and grow more copies of its original self. It's weak though. And has acidic poison." the more that Clark shared the more that the two leaders prepared themselves for battle.

A monster with a hundred different aspects reminded them of a hydra. A beast that they both knew to be very dangerous. But this was different. It lacked massive regeneration skills but could still certainly cause more issues than what any of them wanted to handle.

If they had pushed toward the entrance, then they could have lost many of their fighters who needed to be within the dungeon traveling downward to clear it out entirely. Their goal was a large one. Losing too many of their fellow fighters would cause them to fail.

"I can handle it." Ella was sure that her earth prince could handle it. The ground beneath was already brittle, if she had her earth prince break it and condense it, the sealing chain serpent could easily be crushed to death without issues.

"No, hold off on that. I have a few golems that can handle this." the elf captain waved for a few of his fighters to come forward. The dwarves looked with interest since they knew the differences between their mechanical golems and the natural golems were important to understand. It could lead to future designs much more natural but powerful.

The elves that removed the commands tapped their hands to the slate ground. With A slight shake, four large stone golems rose from where they had stood.

'Earth crushing golem- rare

This is an earth crushing golem. They are known to be a golem that can create a body with exceptional speed. It needs to rest within dense earth for over a hundred years to be able to gain this natural trait. But once it does, it is exceptionally powerful.

It can easily repair its body and even make the earth it connects to condense in to a hard to travel through barrier. It is considered a bane of all earth tunneling beasts when it is fully developed.

While this is its strength, it uses a massive amount of energy when it uses its skills. Therefore, it is often not sent in to battle unless it is required to do so…'

Using these beasts came at the cost that they would be unable to attack later. However, this showed the value that the group had in the elves' eyes. They were worth using these beasts which would weaken the forces. However, the group was thought was stronger. A worthwhile loss for the situation.

As the four earth crushing golems stepped forward, the chains suddenly sprung up. It sensed the earth pushing in around it. The hundred chain serpent heads made it look like there was a ghastly abomination of chan like worms moving out of the slate ground. Instead, though, the chains were being bent and crushed.

The slate was being flattened and making an optimal walking path for all of the forces moving forward. The writing monster just became more violent as it began trying to smashed the denser and denser slate ground. Eventually, more of the chain snake bodies cracked or fell broken.

When the entire ground suddenly cracked, the golems all slammed their fists on to it. They had felt the monster making a last desperate attempt to free itself. But that was not going to happen. They instead used even more energy to crush it entirely.

Once they had done so, they returned to their tamers who had grown pale with the high amount of energy lost. But they had performed their job and gained everyone entrance in to he dungeon.

"That monster kept the dungeon doors open and also guarded it. We have to make sure we have people here keeping it open so we don't get moved while in the dungeon. Who knows how long it has been stuck here." a few of the dwarves made their mechanical golems take up posts in front of the dungeon. They would be the pillars that would ensure that the doors of the large dungeon entrance remained open.

Now, they had to begin their trip in to the depths. Knowing some of the dangers where they were going, Clark took the first step inside with the entire army and his group following him. He felt it was only right that as the one that had pushed for them all to join together that he lived by his goals completely. Act as an example.

The air was heavy within the dungeon. An immediate pressure from multiple beasts and monsters radiated from the deepest floors. Everyone felt that they had to be on their guard.
