Chapter 756: Respect of The Forge
Chapter 756: Respect of The Forge
The small sliver of what most people would assume was silver, was not that at all. It was a small bit of metal that radiated an energy that Clark was familiar with. He even sensed that Devi was feeling it through his bond as well. Enough that devi immediately left the edens end taming space to come out.
The pair looked at the small sliver of metal. It was barely the length of his pinky, but just looking and sensing it was enough to understand how hard it would be to forge this. How hard it would be to even make this metal in to this form.
'Soul silver- legendary
Using the metal gathered from a fallen stone different from what others might find within this world, it is thought to have come from a piece of a broken world. Due to a dungeon collapsing, this large chunk of ore was shattered and sent through the other nearby existences. Leading it to fall on to the world and nearby the dungeon connecting to the dwarven home world.
The immense soul energy within this ore was condensed over the course of thirty years to create a single sliver of soul silver. Due to this process, the advances made by the dwarves was enough to create a more powerful forging method that could better forge what they call untouchable ores. Ores that require exceptionally high skill to even turn in to metal.
This is the ideal material to use to create anything that will channel soul energy. It is even higher than the requirements for true spiritual energy which most spiritual beasts desire to obtain. This is also a metal that metal type beasts would be unable to bond with due to the soul energy that resides within.
If this is used to create a charm for a soul and type beast that would allow them to better channel their own soul energy along with purifying it to a higher degree. It will not corrode due to darkness decaying energy or time manipulating death energy.'
"You know what that is then. You beast even came to see it. I thought you felt the same as it. You know it took me thirty years of hammering and heating to make an ore chunk three times the size of your head in to this small sliver. I still have no idea how to mold it in to anything."
"It's called soul silver and its an ore from a world that collapsed. You know the theory that dungeons are just pieces of broken worlds, or different existence as a whole? Well, that happened to a world and pieces of it were scattered through the nearby existences. Young people found this and made it in to a purified form.
But if you don't have any beasts or ability to manipulate soul energy, it's pointless to you."
Clark didn't show any sign of hiding information. Instead, he was honest. He knew that he should get this for Devi regardless of what prices he would have to pay for it.
"Then tell me, what should I do with it? I have used the things I learned to teach the young brats how to forge better. Why should I waste more of that and let it go? That's what you want, right?" the old darf knew exactly where Clark was going with this.
"Because, I will show you the oath to forge better with what we have here. This, and what Ralph just offered to you. The tenfold steel should be able to make something pretty great. Then this, can be molded enough to be a charm for my partner."
'Forging quest: show your skill
Requirement: earn the respect of the old master blacksmith
Reward: soul charm blueprint, large soul crystal, large death crystal, death's thread.'
The guest that appeared had many more material rewards than what Clark had expected. However, he had a feeling they were going to be needed for making the soul charm. The deth's thread sounds like an ominous material that could not be gained anywhere but from the system. The soul crystal was also very rare since it had purer soul energy that would greatly help Devi.
The same for the death crystals, but he had gained those before.
"Then you will be helping us forge the sword this one asked for? Ha! Let's see that happen. Tell us what you think the method fo foreign a spiritual sword with this ten fold steel should be."
'Side quest: forged sword
Requirement: forge a sword along with a forgemaster, and blooming blacksmith. It must be the highest quality possible for the materials used.
Reward: ten large spirit crystals, ten large metal energy crystals.'
Seeing that another quest was generated, Clark just saw it as a gift. He would be gaining more reward for the fact that he would surely also complete the quest to get the master blacksmith approval. The respect that was needed could be gained through showing that he was able to help accomplish something amazing.
He glanced over at Maria quickly who wasn't even looking at the forge. From what Clark could see, she had become absorbed in the books. The idea that metal could be used in potions was something she had not seen before.
Yet, it made sense. From what Clark could remember, there were natural metals in small amounts within the body. This was beneficial for life as a whole. Therefore, why would it be a foolish idea not to think that they could be used in potions. Especially nutrition potions or potions that would enhance certain types of beasts.
Beyond that, he could even imagine that there would be a use to these potions for other things. He could see them used to repair armor at a quick moment where the battle could not allow a proper repair. Or they could be used to reforge something when lacking additional materials. Overall, the dwarven alchemy was focused on crafting over healing, not a bad perspective to learn at some point.
Clark looked at the piece of still highly heated ten fold steel. He saw that Ralph had a few ideas and that the master blacksmith was just waiting. A forgemaster of his level clearly knew what to do, but wanted to see just what these two would do.. Especially since there was a challenge that had already been thrown out to them.
Looking around, Clark finally spotted something that he wanted help from. Not a tool, but what the master blacksmith of this forge had been working with for years. Something he had been born with.
'Forge spirit- legendary
The forge spirit is a beast that had extremely high fire, metal, and spiritual affinities. The three affinities bond well within its body so that it can make its body out of energies and not solid materials. This does not mean that it can not rely on the spiritual aspect of its nature and dwell within tools or other things such as flames.
By dwelling within them, it is able to manipulate the metal, flames, and spiritual essence of a material much better than what many other beasts can. It is just limited to living with the forges that its tamer calls home. Due to the fact that it can not sustain the energies it has and will continuously bleed them out unless within what itn calls a dwelling.
This is why this beast is always limited. It can not develop due to the consistent bleeding of energies. Yet, if it dwells within something, it will eventually attract too much energy to that item causing it to degrade. This is all due to the purity of three higher potent net affinities it possesses.
The best way to advance to a true forge spirit would be for it to feed on the core of a true flame golem, the core of a true iron golem, and the liquid form the weeping spirit willow. It will be able to assimilate the balance and steadfast energies within these items. From there, it will be able to contain its energy to expand the area in which it can travel.
It will still be limited, but by time rather than by location…'
There were more details, but Clark smirked as he looked in to the flames of the forge. "Have your partner help us and I will give you a beast development plan. It will be able to leave the forge for a while, not forever, but be able to explore outside as a true forge spirit and not just a forge spirit. It will still be a legendary benign since it is extremely rare."
Clark knew that this forgemaster had learned a great deal because of his spirit beast. That was why he had the ability to grow so powerful. But that could only get more and more valuable the longer they worked together. If his partner grew again, it would make sense that his knowledge and ability would also grow. A great way for Clark to bargain with them.
For him to begin this forging process with Ralph who could already have his partner's help a lot.
