Chapter 739: Extra Danger
Chapter 739: Extra Danger
Regenerative skill was the skill that they all felt stress over. Ella made it clear that this was also the one skill that they all had to absolutely worry about. "Otherwise, they are very powerful. They can use strength beyond what they look like. This is all because of that skill."
Ralph adding to it made it seem that he had considered this beast as well. "There was once one outside the city. Some guards apparently used to throw the street kids they found outside the wall for it to eat. I don't know if that's true, but we all got taunted with it."
"And those guards are gone now." Grace huffed at this. She was not at all happy to learn a little about how Ralph knew about the troll species of beasts. Especially with the fact that he had noticed why everyone was curious that he knew it, and how he just openly said it.
"That's why I said it. They are all gone. I fought some of them." This seemed to calm the slight tension that had grown. But the fur and scrapes on the walls still showed.
"Then it will be a control with power thing. The rock troll found some easy minions and has been using them as errand boys. The rock goblins go out, catch food and defend their cave. From there, it just needs to maintain strength to keep them in line." Isa's mind was focused on how it would be keeping the rock goblins under its control.
"That's the most likely situation. So we just need to take it down and the rock goblins will hide in the deepest parts of their dungeon. After that, we close the entrance and let the dungeon naturally return to what it should be. The odds of it even staying here are low. Dungeons like this tend to move. It's small enough and has a single floor."
Having a method to fight them was still needed. But the facts were, they could not plan anything since they had no idea where the main resting place of the rock troll was. If it was even keeping itself far enough from the rock goblins that it wouldn't be able to call them over to fight with it.
There were better odds that it would keep the rock goblins somewhere nearby so that it could tell them to get it food. It was the boss here. A lazy and strong boss that could definitely yell loudly. That would be the issue. A loud roar of an order that the rock goblins understood that echoed through the caves.
"I think one of us will be fighting the rock troll and the others will handle the rock goblins. We can easily handle them, but the troll will cause trouble if it is also using the rock goblins as shields." Clark felt he could easily beat any rock goblin and rock roll. He didn't even have Crim out as armor form to protect him right now.
Yet, if they were ambushed, and there were the sixty rock goblins or more because this dungeon had been here for some time… well, that would make things harder.
"Devi, come out and wander around. Maybe you can hunt a little." Clark felt that Devi had long stirred. He was just a little sluggish because he needed a bit more energy. What better chance than this to go off and grab some.
The weaker cloak of death energy around Devi proved that he was low overall on energy. He needed to also replenish some soul energy. Having him begin to sneak around to deal with the rock goblins would make them all weaker. They would believe that there was a hidden threat while the rock troll was also being attacked.
It was an ideal way to stop the rock goblins from coming all at once to help the rock troll when the group began their main attack. "Yes yes yes, Shy, come on out and help too. The rock goblins are going to be many. So, you need to trip them up and help everyone." Clark smiled as Shy pestered him to help too. Crim just snorted and tried to rest more. He was a bit lazier.
"I will have my midnight eel work a little harder. It hasn't been able to have as much battle experience lately." Everyone often forgot about the midnight eel. It was always hiding in Maria's shadow, but it had grown another foot from the last time it was out in the open. The longer white teeth slightly intimidating if it were to open its mouth while lashing out from her shadow.
With this, the group poses forward more. The markings on the wall appeared to be deeper in the stone. It was another sign that the rock troll had claimed this area. Especially as it opened up on to a larger cavernous room. This space, helped what could only be or once was the resting area of the rock goblins.
Piles of grasses taken from wherever they could have in the worlds they had connected to were here and there. Smoother stones on the ground showed where they had rolled around while sleeping, causing their rough skin to cut down the stone's jagged edges.
The scene was fascinating from a research standpoint. Not many people would worry about the environments where goblin species would nest. Normally, they would worry about how many there were and the dangers they brought. Not how they lived and the effects they had on their sleeping environment.
'Rock troll- rare
The rock troll is a beast with dense earth energy affinity. This is due to their close bond with the earth and how they will constantly find caves to make their homes. This leads to them having a much higher defensive strength due to consuming beasts with earth affinity as well. Along with this, it allows them to greatly boost their strength physically.
While completely losing the ability to manipulate any earth around them.
They have a natural regenerative ability which rapidly heals their body as long as they have the energy, it is best to exhaust them while fighting them or to completely kill them in one attack. Many foolish tamers have died to a troll species because they did not do one of these two things.
Their blood is a very powerful alchemy ingredient to make either a troll strength potion which forces the body's muscles to stretch to their maximum. Or they can have their blood used for a powerful regeneration potion which will use the body's nutrients rapidly to heal injuries for a five minute period. '
These beasts prefer to find a weaker same affinity beast to work for them. They are very lazy by nature; this is only if an ogre has not managed to force them to become their underlings. If this is the case, the trolls will be more prone to violence than normal…'
Clark read out what he found valuable to what he had just learned from the analysis of the system. He was looking at a deep brown furry lump laying on the ground in the corner of the larger cave. The largest bones of beasts that the rock goblins had hunted were around it. Also some bones of the rock goblins themselves.
"There are two of them." Reese was counting correctly. Two decent sized rock trolls were sleeping right now, but they were not something easy to deal with any more. The group had expected to handle one. Not two. Their inexperience fighting trolls would be an issue here.
"We are keeping the pan the same. Devi just found his prey and your midnight eel has to be ready by now too." Clark saw Maria nod. "Then Jerold, play the invisible assailant for the incoming rock goblins. The rest of us will take places defending the different entrances to this cavern."
Everyone was fine with this. There were only three entrances to this place and since they were in a dungeon, they could use whatever beasts they needed. The dangers from outside would not sense the earth prince or the perfect crystal golem's earth energies and come after them.
Seeing Jerold turn invisible, blending in to the dim lightened cave was as easy as anything since he and his armored chameleon had practiced more than anything else lately. It was rare that he wasn't trying to hide in the surroundings.
The moment that Clark readied his lunar storm spear, the two rock trolls sensed him. They had an instinctual feeling that they were being looked at like prey. Clark had no choice but to dash forward. The sounds of his footprints being louder than what they had when they moved through the caves to get here. The time for stealth had passed.
The first rock troll saw Clark coming and raised its arm. The slash cut deep in to it, but Clark stopped at the bone. The dense earth energy protected it more than what he had expected. Especially since Clark had expected to be able to kill it, not just damage it.
The resounding roar of pain that followed caused many other roars and screeches from the rock goblins. The cave knew they were here.
