Chapter 721: Far Away Herbs
Chapter 721: Far Away Herbs
The showing of Clark sparring was one that the elves were all shocked by. His movements were like a domineering specter. The dragon energy appearing when he struck out while a more mysterious shadow like energy appearing when he dodged to sneak in to their blind spots.
Things only got worse as they began to feel a literal aura of death coming from him. Jasmine's guard had recalled the time that she had first seen him. But the second, how this threatening energy had grown. Now she understood that it seemed to grow by the second.
The energy of this human, was not something static. He appeared to be getting stronger while making every single movement. He appeared to be deepening his bonds with his partners at every single breath rather than slowly doing so over time.
Many of the elves training stopped ot watch this event. They were stunned to see the elegance in the way that Clark moved. His spearmanship boasted all these domineering energies while still remaining refined. Remaining full of beauty.
What they don't know, was that this was a spear style that had once been passed down by his mast. The lunar spear style had been related to one aspect of nature that the elves knew well. Some were even very close to the lunar aspect of nature.
The shift of water when the moon was full. The changes in beasts and certain herbs when the moonlight was properly reflected upon them. The elves saw these events as unique to nature. Events that they should witness and become part of.
Hence, there were some elves that would be normally called light elves. But, the small group within them would only follow lunar light. They claimed it as a more peaceful light. One that nourished the world and nature through softness.
Compared to the softness that the elves thought of when it came to anything lunar, they saw Clark's improved technique. Using the dragon energy to alter and evolve the spearmanship to an entirely new level. The lunar dragon spear style.
This paired with him using the flowing storms moving meditation technique brought about an entire aura of strength in nature. That was what the elves felt watching him. A powerful force greater than just the small nature they had seen. A celestial and grand storm of lunar energy. That was what they created within their mind when he began training against the guard.
The terrifying aspect though, was that at his young age, for a human, he was still holding himself back. Because this was just a spar. A friendly spar to learn a little from one another while being able to create a new bond between their races.
In this though, he had won their respect. Especially when he had withdrawn his Lunar Strom spear. They all felt the sudden change in the air around the training field.a pressure that had radiated from Clark had just disappeared and been replaced with a peacefulness.
Clark's finishing his small sparring match, was all the rest of the group needed to begin joining back together. The elves that had seen their skills and how much they had learned just from watching them in such a short time, wondered when they would see a sight like this again. Especially if they truly became allies with the humans.
Could they still boast that they were powerful if every human was like this?
"You said you wanted to move through the herb garden and then see where we have our markets?" Jasmine was a bit unsteady approaching Clark. To her, she had just seen someone that had greatly held back at every encounter with her. That was even holding back when fighting a monster!
"That would be great. Isa will be bothering you for days if we don't get to see the market. Maria will work with Ella to learn about the herbs you bring from your home world through the dungeon. We don't know much about them." The fact that Clark was calm and collected was a little more shocking to Jasmine. He had just been so domineering a moment ago while training. But now he just acted normal?
"If we are going to see herbs, I wonder if we can buy some. Maybe even buy some seeds if we are allowed to. I can probably make a small herb garden in Aphelion. That way I can use them to make potions when I study advanced alchemy." To Maria, this was a great chance to look at a future where she could remain focused on healing. Not fighting at all.
While Clark had already begun to grasp this understanding about Maria, he had not heard her say it directly. But he knew very well that she wanted to be someone known for healing and alchemy over her ability to fight. She was a kind soul. Yes, she could fight if she wanted. Put her foot down to ensure that things were right. But she would not just forget what she and Lit were best at.
Moving swiftly, the group found themselves coming to the base of many smaller trees. These trees were smaller by compassion because they were not holding home or connected to the larger trees that the elves walked on. But they were still large by human standards.
They had many strings and other rope like vines drawn down to create partial shade. That was why the group realized that this was the start of the herb gardens. The elves had used the natural fibers of the trees to create the best possible gardens.
'Nourishing anthem- rare
This herb is an earth energy herb that is called nourishing anthem due to the singing earth elf who learned how to properly grow this very important and rare herb. It allows the nutrients within soil to easily replenish since it collects the dust and nutrients from the air with its leaves.
In turn, this causes the fallen leaves to rot and fertilize the trees they are placed under. While valuable to the process of fertilization, it is also used to create what is known as a drought potion.
Because this herb has a form of earth energy related to fertilizing and collecting dust, it often repels water to a degree. Therefore, when concentrated oils are condensed through alchemy, the potion will dehydrate those that consume it.
Sounding more like a poison, many would not see the benefits in this. However, some illnesses cause additional fluids to…'
The details of the analysis of this one dusty leafed herb to be very interesting. This only seemed to become more entertaining and interesting while they walked. The smaller trees had various small herb patches around the bases of the trees. Some herbs grew up the trees as well.
The most interesting were the herbs that grew in the trees themselves. Some were parasitic or symbiotic. They ended the trees to grow. But others were there because they didn't need soil at all. They just needed a place to hold some rope like vines and the air moving through high up places.
Things just didn't stop there though. What they had not expected to see were the herbs placed in small clay pots. These herbs were mixed in rocks or other different spoils. It was not normal that there would be herbs stored like this. Therefore, the group found themselves curious.
Ella had her journal out writing down what Clark said about the herbs, but she was surprised to see that these herbs were not from here.
'Endless desert cactus- ultra rare
This cactus is from the endless desert dungeon. It only grows there unless if is brought outside and given exceptional care. This is due to the unique energies it needs on a daily basis. Without the care, it will perish within the day.
It has a very strong water energy within it that is able to resist the heat and the constant wind storms of the endless desert. Because of this, it is able to give off small berry like fruits once a year. These fruits can greatly help a water type beast strengthen their affinity to water energy overall…'
There was a lot more information about how to grow this herb and how to care for it. However, Calkr found himself just amazed that this came from a dungeon that he had not heard of. "Those are from a dungeon that appeared in the lands of our ancestors.
The endless desert caused a great danger to many before it was subdued by one of the earth and wind elf heroes working together." Jasmine shared this a little excitedly.
It was not often that any human would want to know about elven history. Yet, the group listened carefully making her wonder just how different this group was from every human out there. "What other herbs come from there? Were they all taken by these heroes then grown by other elves?" Ella was right on the dot with the questions. She would learn everything she could.
