Spirit Taming

Chapter 719: Training Addicts

Chapter 719: Training Addicts

The moment that the elf using the rushing river style stepped in to his stance, Reese felt it. A pressure that he could sue as well. The unique pressure that came with mixing energy and the all around technique of swordsmanship. While it was not as unique as the sword aura that he had because of his spiritual and sword technique, it felt the same.

It might be considered odd for him to sense such a thing, but it was more instinctual than anything. Reese had grown up training the sword. He always trained with it. even when he didn't feel himself worthy to hold his partner as its weakest form.

But through the years, he had learned his family's technique. Learned the importance of a sword style and how it should be used along with his partner. The two had bonded when that day came. Learned from one another while also learning wh they were.

Yes, as his spirit beast, Reese's spirit steel sword was closer than family to him. However, that was not necessarily the case when it came to understanding who they were.

The spirit steel sword was a beast with metal and spiritual energy. It had originally had light affinity too. But it threw that aside to push forward with Reese. To be able to grasp a deeper meaning of fused spiritual and metal energies. The sword aura that they had fostered together.

Since they had developed that together, they had been able to learn how to alter the techniques that they use. Able to move as both one and now two as if they were the same being. This closeness was another level above just being spirit beasts. It was the same as Brad's possessed armaments. More than just two beings bound at their soul. They were one in mind and body.

The first slash that came toward Reese carried an interesting feeling. He could sense the water energy building up. Enough that he even felt that the moisture in the air itself had picked up. Slightly sticking to his skin as if it was a warmer day than it really was.

"We always seem to end up training. You know that, Right?" Grace calmly asked isa this while they watched Reese challenging the elf.

"We do. But we are always needing to get stronger. I think it's a habit now. Or at least just a habit for some of us. They attract other kinds of people." Isa pointed to Brad, Clark, and then at reese.

"Oh, you mean addicts. You're right, they are addicted to training." Grace sighed a little. She wanted to see more of the elven city and not stay in a training area for hours. This just felt a little too much lately.

"If you want to watch Reese, you should think about how he is going to counter that. The water energy and the water on that sword is growing." Maria forced the two back to the battle. She was right. She had noticed this a little sooner than what Grace and Isa had since they were somewhat distracted by their odd habits and situation.

The water was building up on the sword that the elf wielded. The water silver seemingly being a great way to gain momentum with the rushing river style. But a beast was also reacting. That had to be part of it. The question was what kind of beast.

"Clark, what beast is helping the elf swordsman?" Maria called out. She saw that this was the puzzle piece she was missing to better understand the battle.

"It's a little harder to see it, but it's a beast similar to Reese and Brad. if you walked by it in a dungeon you wouldn't even notice it was there. But technically, it's an elemental golem. Not that it has a body per say. "

'Aqua golem core- rare

The aqua golem core is a blue gem golem core that uses water to create an elemental energy body. While this makes it easily able to create bodies, it lacks defense due to the weakness of that body. If it manages to get strong enough, it can condense the water to become a form of higher ranked ice golem such as…

While it is not able to form a more solid defensive body,.. It is an amazing beast to assist in controlling water energy and water in general. When worn as a necklace, it is able to feed water energy toward the body of its tamer. This allows the tamer to innately control water in their movements and actions. Because of this, the pair is basically fighting with permanent elemental boosts.

The versatility allows fro the energies that naturally exist in the aqua golem to be used with the skill of the tamer. Due to this, various different attacks can be learned. Where things become much more dangerous, is when the metal energy of a unique water affinity metal is joined.

This creates what is known as a higher water pressure effect. Water under pressure is incredibly dangerous. It is used to cut through mountains and metals at times. This fact is how the …'

"So it acts like a beast that can cut through many things with very pressurized water? Aren't there beasts that shoot water like arrows and stuff?" Grade thought that this just sounded like a beast a little better at firing water blasts. Not that impressive overall.

"It's more than that, the water is very good, but it becomes pressurized because of the metal energy. That means that it's sharpness. The golem knows how sharp metal is and understands that in the metal energy entirely. It's a beast is stronger with the way that its tamer acts." Maria put it all right out there.

As if to prove this, the elf stepped forward. His movements like a snaking expanse of rapids where the water is hitting stones and shifting constantly. It left Reese needing to constantly adjust his stance.

Due to this, Reese had not deflected or easily dodged the movements coming towards him. Yes, he could have countered them, but he did not want his partner to feel the pain from a sword that had just begun fighting them.

This was also something he was learning from his opponent. The way that the elf moved with offense was spectacular. The style of fighting was entirely focused on the way the sword stuck out to cause damage. No defense was necessary because the attacks were swift and smooth.

The less that the attacker was forced to cease their mov, enets, the more moments. The more the water all around the tamer and in the air was able to be controlled.

Feeling this pressure made Reese realize that because of this technique and the unique mix of metal and water, he had to be much more serious. That was when a small burst of sword aura radiated through the direct space near reese. He and his partner had begun to focus on the fact that the movement so the elf were becoming harder to track.

The pair slashed out, finally deflecting the silver sword. It rang with a metallic buzz due to the sudden force breaking the flow of swordsmanship. Reese had focused on the way that the elf had been moving. Tracking the best way to properly counter it. Now he was able to sense that bit of metal energy being mixed in.

because the aqua golem core had a slight metal affinity as well as a strong water affinity, he hadn't immediately understood everything. He had initially expected that this was a beast just the same as his partner. A sword type beast.. Not a necklace shaped beast/ regardless of that, now that Reese was able to sense the metal energy with his partner too, they could fight back a lot better.

"Reese is going to start beating them down pretty hard." Isa sighed. She already knew the results of this. She had hoped that the new sword technique that Reese countered would prove to make a large leap for all of them if they were stuck here training. For the moment though. it seemed that this was just another sparring match with little challenge behind it.

A more solid feeling of sword aura burst out causing the water silver sword to fly from the elf's hand. This left the elf stunned and the water around him dripping to the ground. This hadn't been expected at all.

But in the prideful actions that the elves were known for, he grabbed his sword and began fighting again. A different set of movements with the same energies being used in an attempt to counter what Reese was now showing as his strength.

By the time that multiple of the surrounding swordsmen and challenged Reese, he and his partner were fighting individually. Reese using sword aura as a blade while his partner floated separately. The rest of the group had already split off to take on their own opponents. They had seen this sort of thing before. Reese had just gotten a little too ahead of other swordsman, the same for his partner.
