Chapter 717: Making A Connection

Chapter 717: Making A Connection

The small clay golem core was far from small now. It had a lot of clay that was built up and attached to it below the mud pit that Clark could not see. However, the way that the mud pit moved proved that the clay golem had a large body now.

The analysis was also showing that it had developed a strong body on its own now that it had the proper energy and materials. The environment a beast grew in was very important, many tamers lost this in their adventures and focus.

"You seem happy. I'm glad. But do you think it's good enough for me to pass a reward down to your partner?" Clark watched the clay golem core lower itself in to the mud a little.

A large clay hand reached out with a thumbs up. It was surprising but not too much. This was a beast that would not normally speak because it didn't have the intelligence nor the proper body parts to do so. But golems were intelligent in other ways.

They could use their bodies around their cores to communicate differently. They could also grow in energy control which would grow their bodies in more unique ways that could be more versatile. But communications with their bodies was simple. Many would pick up handle signals, hence the thumbs up.

"Well, if you want her to have it, I can give it to her. But, you have to push her to study it. This is a technique that will allow her to help you make your body. It's a little hard to understand, but you both will be very strong. It also means you'll be my ally forever, alright?"

The golem core itself popped back out. This wasn't it agreeing or denying. It was simply because it was surprising. It could sense that Clark was stronger than last time since golems could be sensitive to energies. However, it didn't understand why Clark was doing this.

"We have a whole new alliance forming to make sure no unnecessary wars or fights happen. So, you two would be helping with that." sensing that the golem core was calling her over, Jasmine walked over to them with clear worry on her face.

"Your partner says you have done well enough. Here, take this technique book. Use it to help your partner make a better body than the one it is naturally creating in there. If you can do it, that is." Clark walked away toward where he saw the other being led. The elves working here had already started to show them the way to a resting area. A spa to be able to enjoy the natural earth energy.

Jasmine could only wonder just how something like this happened. But when she looked at the book, her eyes felt like they might pop out of her head. This technique was so intricate and above any other that she had ever seen, that she felt this might be the first time she was actually seeing a real technique.

Her family were earth elves. They had many associated techniques for helping their earth golems, magma golems, and even the rare clay related beasts to build stronger bodies. But this was one that she could say would be the peak of what her family could ever lay their hands on.

What was even more surprising, was that Clark had just handed it to her. Nothing else attached another than telling her beast that they would be allies. While Jasmine wanted to think further ahead than that, she couldn't stop reading. Trying to grasp even a single line of the complicated technique before her.

Regardless of that, she knew very well that she would have to somehow make up for this. Saved twice. Now given something beyond any level that she had ever seen. Too much was here for her to understand.

A few hours passed by. Clark felt that the mud pool that they had been brought to was overall just odd. He didn't like the feeling and he definitely didn't think it helped his complexion at all. The girls had different feelings though.

Surprisingly, Ella, Ralph, and Brad had the most interest in this. They had sensed the earth energies the best when Reese was close to them, but had a slight block because her partner preferred to remain clean.

The earth energy was deeply related to metal. Therefore, Ralph and Brad had managed to let their partners sense some of that unique energy within the mud. The fire energy within the heated mud pool also helped the molten boar a bit. Not by much though.

It had been the earth prince that learned the most though. The elven city was already more dense with energies as a whole than other places. Therefore, this place which was focused with more earth energy already. Was a perfect place for it. Ella had meditated while her partner focused on growing much better.

While most people would have expected that Isa's perfect crystal golem felt the same, it had not. That was due to the uniqueness of the earth energy that the crystal golem had. It focused on a specific form of earth energy which was not present here. There were no crystals so that kind of earth energy did not naturally rest here.

Besides that, Clark had been able to appease Ella's curiosity a little. He had recorded a few analyses of the beasts around. Many elves came in and out of the more public areas. Taking their beasts to enjoy the mud pools that were able to nourish them. Some beasts which had nearly no form or had unique forms that had been made in these very mud pits.

"What's next on the list?" Grace surprised Jasmine who still sat reading in the same spot. Her focus suddenly being taken from the extreme clay sculpting technique.

"We just got here though?" Her face and tone showed that she had not even realized that they had been there for over two hours relaxing. But that was just the nature of someone finding a golden new focus. Such as the technique book.

"That was a few hours ago. When you finish the tour you can sit here all you need. I will even ask the matriarch to let you focus on growing for a bit." Clark wanted to laugh out loud. His smirk told Maria just that. But Jasmine was in no mentality to realize he was resisting the urge to laugh at her.

"Then I will bring you all throughout the main city trail. We have various trails through the roots that allow for beasts to roam safely. Also for us to enjoy the herbs that grow all around." This thought perked Maria up quickly. She was very excited to see the elve herbs that she had never seen before. She would definitely be attached to Clark at the hip who would be writing it all down for her.

With this in mind, they began to move. The sights changed very quickly as they moved away from the more private areas separated with more vine and root walls. The open space wasn't so much open as it was like an isolated forest which couldn't be seen to the end.

The winding pathways had been lined with river stones. These things would allow the rainwater to better flow around them while distributing the minerals that had built up within them. The herbs growing near them were clearly showing that fact.

Since this was the lower side of their city, there were few elves moving around. But those that walked wore ornate clothing made from different fibers. Some were from spider silks while some were from the barks of trees made in to very fine threads. Each fabric represented the affinity they had in their city as an elf. Red for the fire elves, blue for water, and so on.

This made it feel that they were somewhat divided until Clark caught some of the elves walking together. It did appear that they would interact. Especially when he noticed a few beast of dual affinities being the key to them wanting to be together.

The unity between elementals was unique. They might oppose one another, but they came together to make all of nature. The elves understood this even with their own internal struggles.

"Look, there are younger elves carving the dead branches." Isa spotted some of the elves carving fallen branches. It was normal for them to put the fallen branches to use instead of cutting a tree. More in line with their beliefs. However, it was what they were carving that caught Isa's attention.

They had been making instruments. The ornate flutes made of wood from the forest they lived in were said to be a key aspect of an elf's ife. They would have one gifted to them by their parents when they came of age. A sign of respect and to play the song that symbolized their path to becoming an adult.

This was all told to them by Jasmine who appeared to take great pride in her people. Especially when they began toward a larger root which snake upwards in to a smaller tree with many connecting branches.
