Chapter 713: Weight Of Healing
Chapter 713: Weight Of Healing
"Step aside, Clark, this is not your domain. You manage to cut in to this prisoner, I will stitch it all together." Maria had long been rolling up her sleeves.
What she had noticed was that Clark had a knack and somehow had the knowledge to cut in to the prisoners. Able to cut the perfect place that he could go inside the body and remove the egg and vials without issue.
It was a stunning display of what Maria could silently know as his visual prowess. But in reality, it was actually Clark's system using analysis. Not that she knew this. She only believed that he could see the best places to go to find and solve the problems.
However, Where she was best, was healing. She had managed to find the methods of healing related to organs and the insides of beings. This study had been tougher because it was very hard to imagine what was under the skin. Yes, everyone knew about organs and muscles and bones. These were common knowledge.
What everyone did not know, were the details. How they connected together. How these things worked with one another to be able to help someone survive. Even the act of just breathing was something that couldn't be easily explained right away. Doing so in simple terms was nearly impossible.
With that, Maria had been focused on this as a subject when she had been with the white robed healers. She had gained a lot of focused information when it came to the human body. Not just because the white robed healers had it, but because they emphasized the importance of how this knowledge could affect healing skills.
As the white robbed healers had a long history of being healers, they had experiments with many healing methods. Some being a little more dangerous than others, bit helping those with illnesses that a healing skill would not affect unless an illness was removed, were a core method for them.
This being that case, Maria had been given copies of books and more about the human body and some beast physiques. This meant that she had been able to grasp an undercard of how it all connected. How each layer of the body worked together to ensure that the rest were working properly. That the entire body was doing as it should.
Studying these different physiques along with bodies gave a general knowledge. The best healers of the best were able to look at any body and grasp an understanding at a glance. This was the working knowledge she wanted to achieve.
When she pushed Clark aside yet again, she and Lit began to act. Using dissolvable threads made from a unique spider silk that the elves raised, she sewed a firm and watertight stitch. It ensures that the stomach acid would not leak out. When she had Lit use a healing skill, it also gave the base line healing that was needed to allow for a full recovers over a shorter time.
The same for the muscles. Aligning them back where they ended to be without damage would only leave a scar and soreness. Beyond that were the various blood vessels that had been damaged. Much easier since Maria understood how they would swell or how they could leak blood. Her knowledge allowed a better treatment and follow up care.
Even stitching and healing the skin layers was easy by this time. She had done it multiple times already. Gathering quite the following in the minds of the elves.
Her techniques were not perfect, but when they realized this human as very young, they understood that a matching genius in healing arts within the elves would be brought to one of their greatest academies. If not taught directly by a master of the trade. Therefore, they showed her assistance. Their form of respect for her level of skill.
Seeing all this, Clark was also surprised. As he had begun, he could sense that Maria was worried. Especially since she showed a lot of glances toward certain tools he was using. Besides that, he also saw that lit was reacting with a few flinching actions. She had sensed that Clark was skirting an edge between immense danger for the prisoner, and rescue.
The immense skill that Maria had fostered by putting her all in to healing had shown her talent for it. Talent that had been repressed for so long due to the Mourne family and their ways. Now that she had been freed of them completely, it was like a veil had lifted. She was showing that talent more brightly to the world than ever before.
After another two hours, Maria and Clark leaned against a nearby table. The clean wood seeming to be the only thing they could focus on with their heads feeling heavier than anything else they had ever carried. But, as they slowly lift them, they saw the vials and eggs lined up on the table. Some of the vials were more than halfway dissolved.
It would have been an impossible task to beat this many monsters.
"Your state is not well. You must rest to be able to continue anything else. However, that was the last prisoner we captured at our walls. We will begin using spiritual beasts to access their minds. We fear they may have been broken through torture, but that is not an entirely damning event." The matriarch seemed to be thinking for a moment.
"You have shown us a great potential to grow our relationships with humans. That being the case, we will use our best spiritual healers. The method that can even heal damaged minds and souls will not be spared when we see to these victims of the blood moon cult."
While this was not an admittance of accepting the alliance, this was a very good start. The humans had known that there was more to the elves. Especially since the humans had never been brought to their world, well, only a very few select humans ever had been brought to the elven world through the connected dungeons.
Therefore, it was important to realize that the use of skills that would only be reserved for the elves being used meant a lot. "I understand these methods would never be used for our sake without our joint cooperation today. I hope that you can see the potential to join the Universal alliance as one that would be mutually beneficial. I also understand that will not be a decision you can make alone."
Clark was feeling even worse now that he realized he had burned through just about all his mental and physical energy. This sort of activity was not what he was used to and he even felt like trying to use the analysis again would push him over an edge. "We are here now, my group will continue to assist with the coming beast wave of attacks.
And we will assist in destroying a branch of the blood moon cult if possible."
Saying this, the matriarch showed a proper smile for the first time. She had clearly expected this. She had also seen that Clark was willing to take the necessary steps to ensure that an alliance had a future. Not like others who had come in the past that had just desired trade rights. Or even those who had wished to take the elves away.
Knowing that corrupted humans with ill will had a counter like this, and a young one at that, the matriarch knew she was seeing a potential turning point in the humans looked down on by her race. Especially when it came to the odd strength that all of these young humans had.
"Please follow my aides to a place where you can rest. You will have access to our home as long as you follow the laws put in place. A tour will even be given by Jasmine. It would be easier for someone you already know, correct?" Now this was politics. Clark sighed in his heart. Using the elf that he had saved twice now as a key to ensure that he would accept these things.
Without much more, the elves that had been helping moved away. They were going to the room they had brought every single victim, no longer being called prisoners since the matriarch had deemed it so. They would be present while they were healing over the course of the next few weeks. Beyond that, the healers hidden away would also be brought out to handle their minds.
Clark wished to see this and analyze the beasts they used to do this. He could use this as a way for Maria to grow stronger. Every bit of information would be useful. Unfortunately, he knew that wasn't possible.
There were some things that would be protected by the elves. Just making this large impression was not enough. It would take more to befriend their race and their city entirely. That aside though, Both Maria and Clark could finally relax. They were going somewhere they could relax!
