Spirit Taming

Chapter 712: Real Entrance

Chapter 712: Real Entrance

The event going on within the healing and medical treatment area was completely unknown to the rest of the group. They had been guided elsewhere. However, they had not been treated the same way that Clark had been treated at first.

The group had been directly led through the main entrance after Maria had been welcomed and a degree of trust had been established. It was also clear that the attitude from the guards had changed since they approached with their weapons sheathed.

"It looks like we will be able to establish some trade with them. I think that Maria must have been brought in ahead of us for healing." Isa's theory appeared correct as a few guards seemed to stiffen a little. They couldn't say anything, but they knew the gist of what was happening.

"If they are handling some rare information or injuries, I would like to record it." Ella could only think about the different techniques she was missing. She could be recording all of it as a witness. It would be very valuable since not many people had witnessed the elves' techniques.

"We shall escort you in to a waiting area. The temporary space will be your home until the business between your leader and our matriarch is completed. If you need food or drink, you may request it."

That was all the guards had spoken to them thus far. Pretty strict, but that was that. "So we just have to sit and do nothing? Can this waiting place be an open space where I can train? I can't sit idle for long." Brad spoke up, making the guards hesitate. They didn't have any reason to deny this request.

However, they didn't seem to have a chance to answer.

The vines and branches that had moved had shown off the proper entrance to the elven city. This was not something that Maria or Clark had been able to see. Even the number of humans that had seen this were slim in number.

The many leaves and wooden natural structures were stunning. Various vines grew fruits which gave off light energy and light in general. The buildings were all wooden living structures that had been guided by experts to be able to exist. That included the various treehouses that only became more plentiful as they moved up the large tree at the center of the city.

It was even more stunning to see the branches of the tree drop here and there to connect other sections of the city together. It was an entire road system that was on multiple levels. Changing for the elves as they traveled and for their needs.

The beasts were also everywhere. Beasts that were unfamiliar, but also beasts that would normally not be kept by humans because they were not considered useful as tamed beasts. Yet, there was a small part of everyone that realized that these beasts were not tamed. They just lived here normally . They fit right in to this odd nature.

It was all a part of the life that was here. The herbs grew somewhat naturally but also guided. The elves tending to them had a clear goal to make sure they sued the earth to the fullest. Every patch of ground had some use. Whether it was an herb, a flower, or just a place for someone to rest on soft grass. Every single part of this city teemed with life in some way.

It only took a few moments for the elves to start looking at the group as they entered. "We are like some show to them. I gate it." Ralph growled out a little while seeing that many elves had stopped in their actions to gawk at the group.

"And you would not look at an elf at all if they walked through our city?" Grace made a good point. Everyone would have stared at another race suddenly appearing within their city. Especially if they were not an elf that was a tamed beast but a real elf with intelligence.

As more of the elves gathered to watch the humans that ahd seemingly come oit of nowhere, the group began to observe a few things. "They all wear perfectly crafted clothes. And a lot of small jewelry. Gems." Jerold saw this was a very big trend. He found it odd since these things were not really the most necessary to have. Especially for an entire population.

'What about the fact that they are wearing colors to match the kinds of elves they are? Fire elves, earth elves, wind elves, water elves, and even a few light elves over there." Reese pointed this out. He had been on edge because of this sudden change.

However, Now that the group was seeing the differences between the elven society and the human society, he wanted to make it a little more clear. He had a feeling that this was not necessarily a choice.

They are living very differently from us. Even their beasts are different since they came from another world. That tree should be on top of a massive dunedin that connects our world with theirs. I would hope that they are different from us." Isa's focus on the fact that this was all different societal standards didn't sit right with her though.

She could tell that the elves had a lot of vanity, not bad for a merchant though.

But she could also tell that the elves were a divided people. Yes, they worked together here and there, but the elves of certain affinities with their partners kept themselves separate from one another. That was the purpose of their different colored clothing.

"This will be where you wait. It is an enclosed garden so that visitors will have more privacy." The stone walls stacked up around a small cottage style house made the group wonder how the elves thought all humans lived. They didn't retort to this though, they accepted the spot as the guards took up posts to watch the entrance of this garden and cottage style house.

"Well, now we just wait? Or should we meditate instead?" Grace hummed a little while walking through the little garden they had been left to wait in. Ralph by her side instead of waiting or meditating. He had already long accepted that he wouldn't learn much about the details of forging from the elves.

The natural forging that the elves practiced was not normal for him. He used fire and burning to ensure that he forged and changed the properties of something. The elves relied more on basic crafting or refining using energies that did not harm the environment along with the basic materials used. It was very different from what human blacksmiths do.

"Let's see what information I can get." isa moved to harass the guards a little. She wanted to see what she could do to make some gold here. Especially since they would be sitting here doing basically nothing.

Reese and Jerold looked at Ella, her face was completely flat. Not a single emotion being shown. Yet, they knew that this was not a good thing. Her mind ahd to be running a million miles per hour right now.

They were in a literally foreign city. A place with beings from another world. Beasts she had never seen. And plenty more that could be completely new information that she could record in any number of journals. Therefore, they were waiting for her to say something.

"Reese, try to train with me. I want to defend against multiple opponents. Your partner can be the second." Brad had his own ideas though.

"Reese, you should meditate here too. You wanted to develop a moving meditation similar to clark's but focused on swordsmanship. The air contains much more spiritual energy because of the trees and nature focus. My spirit infant can sense it and I have to focus on training my body for my partner's sake."

Now this was unexpected. Ella had stunned them by telling them that she would be training and not recording notes for once. Between Reese, Jerolde, and Brad, they shared looks of complete wonder. They had never imagined they would hear something like this happening. It was not normal.

"I will make Clark record everything for me when he returns. He won't have a choice since he will need me to help complete the beast plans for any of the new beasts that he sees." now they understood what Ella had been thinking.

Since she worked with Clark, she would be asked to help him at some point. She had a better organization and knack for details when recording things. Therefore, he would want her to make the final drafts of the beast plans for any of the elves. He also used them as payment for certain bits of knowledge. It just made sense that this would happen.

"So we will train and wait. I guess I will help my partner absorb some energy crystals" Jerold knew he couldn't wander around her invisibly. The elves were sensitive to those things. Plus, he could take the time to think about what Clark and Maria might be doing.
