Chapter 698: Move Quickly

"So, come on, you had to know that there was someone hiding there. Right?" Grace was trying to get Clark to spill the information. She had a gut feeling that Clark had known that someone would be here.

"Not really, it just didn't make sense that this guy had no idea what his materials really were. Unless he had stolen them and used it for cover. But when I threw out a theory, he actually went with it. He is the worst escapee there ever was." seeing that Clark was still holding to this, no one pushed him. They would let him think what he wanted to think.

"So now that we know more about how things might get worse, we are rushing?" Reese felt that they were making a good pace toward where many of the merchants seemed to be sitting in waiting.

The merchants had more or less gravitated towards a large tent. This was set up far enough away from the Nighthawk family home which was kept away due to safety. But close enough that they could easily maintain their transportation business with such a large influx of customers right now.

"The faster we move the better things will be for everyone. What if we can't get there before the cultist start experimenting again." Clark knew that a berserk and ravenous monster would be much worse to handle right now. especially since it would be somewhat of a surprise attack on the elven city.

"I just don't want to waste time. So Isa, it's your show." Clark let Isa take the lead. She was the one with experience in these matters. She also was the one that had managed to organize a beast for transportation when it was clearly very hard to get that to happen at all right now.

While Isa moved ahead with the guard to speak to the managing family manager within the tent, Clark looked at the system. He knew that the quest had been completed, he just wanted to see what the rewards he gained were.

'Flash quest: not a merchant at all

Requirement: find the merchant that is hiding his true colors.

Green dandelion flower- rare

The green dandelion is what albinism is to any other species. The green coloration of the flower happens when the plant mutates before the flower blooms. Therefore, it causes it to have a stronger wind affinity. This is why any beast that had wind affinity that consumes it will have a much greater ability to absorb wind energy for at least an hour.

If a beast in a meditative state or transitional state are close to it, in contact, then they will have a boost in their growth during that state. It will allow them to grow and change faster.

Wyrm root- uncommon

The root of a plant known for looking similar to a dragon's head when it grows, the root is very useful for dragon type beasts. This is because it gathers minute dragon energy from the atmosphere. This unique form of dragon energy is small, but can greatly nourish the body of a dragon type beast. It is mostly eaten by younger dragons when it is harvested by the parents.'

While the reward were nothing massively shocking, it was still pretty amazing. The materials that he had gained could be given to Isa and then to Crim. the spiritual crystals would go to Lit and Reese since they would sue them the best.

Having the wind materials for Isa's newest partner was simply the most important. Mostly because it would help it grow much more and also help Isa learn more about the wind energy that she had been solely focusing on when it came to her skills.

Crim would also get a lot out of the wyrm root. Yes, it have very little dragon energy within it. But with his current state, that little bit of dragon energy was a lot for him. He was trying to recover all of his slime body which had mostly been burned away in the explosion of the monster they had defeated.

That wasn't the half of it though. Crim was still young in terms of how old a dragon could live. Therefore, he needed some unique materials that were best for the younger dragons. It would ensure that he kept growing at a better rate than he was before. With how they were going to face more cult members or monsters, this was extremely important.

"Come on! We are leaving!" Isa came out, a tall skinny man was right behind her. He had a pale face, but held a confidence that any business man had. "This is the tamer that will be taking us on the ride over the violent jungle. He is one of the oldest sons of the Nighthawk family." The man appeared glad to hear he was being introduced with respect.

"My partner normally prefers to fly in the night. However, with the pressing situation, my partner and I will ensure that you come to your destination sooner than later. However, we still can not take you further beyond the violent jungle. Especially now since I can only make the sky around us dark for a short while."

Their escort said something that seemed to be impossible. Making the sky dark was not something that could just happen. The strength of a beasts that could do that would be many times that of which the group had, let alone this tamer specialized with transportation over other things.

"My night spore mushroom is the only reason that we will be able to make it. But if I travel further than the destination, then I will be unable to make it back for at least three days." The guide from the Nighthawk family showed the small black mushroom that appeared to wiggle around for time to time in his hands.

'Night spore mushroom- rare

This is a mutated species of the dark spore mushroom. Due to the mutation, it gained a more powerful control over darkness energy. This causes it tpo have mor powerful spore which can completely block light out of a surrounding area for a certain time. It is so powerful that the darkness it creates will often be confused for night time or even for a dark storm cloud.

It is not able to grow much because it doesn't have enough potential due to its mutation. However, it can better understand the darkness energies that it uses. By doing so, it can make larger areas in too pitch darkness with its spores, or make it slightly or more dark depending on the degree of control that it has.

While most beasts consume energies or physical foods, this beast needs to be in contact with its tamer so that it can properly absorb the darkness energy with its tamer's energy as a buffer…'

The small black mushroom was definitely different compared to other beasts that the group had seen. "And that, is my other partner. The winged horror that my family raised from an egg."

The large shadow that blocked the sun out was enough to make some of the nearby merchants waiting for a chance to get a transport flinch. They could sense that they were in the presence of a more terrifying beast.

The leathery wings arched out similar to a bat's however, it also had multiple dark tentacles that wiggled on the ends of its body. The mouth was a wriggling mass that was hiding its very sharp teeth. "Huh, I figured it would be cute, but it's almost as cute as Shy was."

"You think it's cute too? Everyone always seems afraid of my partner, she is very glad to hear another person compliment her on her looks." The entire group looked at the two wondering just what they would do. These two had something wrong with their minds. There was no other explanation.

"Please do not pull on her tentacles. She has enough skill to keep you all on her back without a single issue. We will fly smoothly through the air and you may not be able to see much because of my spirit beast's spores. Besides that, we should be across the treetops of the violent jungle within an hour." this was definitely faster than it would normally be.

Clark could only guess that the tamer before them would be urging his partners to move faster.

That was a good thing though. They had a mission to handle. While they all wanted to take this somewhat slow, that just was not an option. Their distaste for running through their journeys constantly would have to be ignored. It was just going to be part of their life now.

"We appreciate you having us leave earlier. I promise that I will ensure that new beast plans are made for your family with our expertise while we travel in the air. Clark and Ella can manage that." Isa made it clear that she had promised extra service. No one objected. Clark could easily write a beast plan for these two beasts that he saw just a moment ago.
