Chapter 668: Wave Of Water And Ice
Chapter 668: Wave Of Water And Ice
"Do you think you can help me make an entire area covered in water?" the sweet but serious voice that came to the ears of the water elemental gargoyle made it wonder where it was.
It had traveled far and wide with alexander even before it had become the water elemental gargoyle. It was used to the battles between beasts larger than it. Beasts that could cause it severe damage. People that were able to counter it entirely with their weapon skills alone.
Yet, when Grace asked it a question, it felt that it was not approaching the Nova City center where three subordinate families had managed to take a serious stronghold that they had built up to keep their strength within the city better.
Many of the nearby homes had been completely destroyed. They had been used to create the central fortress added on to the main city hall which would have been the city lord's residence. Unfortunately, this was considered a place that no one went to since the powerful families had stopped anyone else from nearing it for some time. Therefore, it was a place most people avoided.
The homes nearby were also vacated because it was scary to live near the place where the most powerful corrupted families tended to move around. It was a wise choice. But regardless, this was a reason alone for the current opposition to try and take the area back.
The central square of any city should be full of bright and happy emotions. A place where the locals came to enjoy the atmosphere. To enjoy the growth in tourism that was bringing them a fruitful life.
"I want to freeze everything here and start a storm of wind. Can you help me?" Grace knew that she could not fight head on. There were many guards gathered here. And easily three family heads from the lesser families directly under the Mourne family.
What her goal was, was simple. She could easily make it harder for the weaker forces to move in and out while her frost finch froze and blew gusts of wind at this small fortress. From there, the Mane family and Green family forces could handle the real threats.
With the largest group other than Clarks, the water elemental gargoyle thought that it would be holding back until a major threat approached. However, it had the intelligence that came with being a more powerful beast. This alone let it understand what grace was in tending.
With a soft growl, it began to draw in a large amount of water energy. It had shown off its strength to Clark who had told Grace about the elemental gargoyles. Everyone in the group knew that there was a major strength difference between them and the elemental gargoyles. Especially when it came to the control of energies.
Grace wanted to learn from them, but that was not a chance that she had right now. She would have to accept that she could not do much right now and just focus on what she could do with her goal.
"Our friend is going to make a water wasteland that I will freeze. After that, we are charging in. ranged attackers will bombarded the walls here as the head on fighters will break everything down. Clara, I trust you to handle the three lesser heads of families."
"Well, I was just going to rush off with Clark, but since you were coming somewhere fun and I want all of us to converge on the Mourne family household afterwards, we can do that." Grace smiled as Clara accepted her quick battle strategy. Mostly because she knew that Clara was not someone that could just take orders and was better off fighting alone. That sort of aura was around her. A solo fighter.
With a loud bang, a tremendous amount of water energy spread all around the entire square. It caused a massive and sudden downpour of rain. This was a skill that the water elemental gargoyle used to draw out all the water within the air. It was a harsh skill that harmed other beasts that relied on the water because it forced their control to weaken.
That wasn't a bad thing here though. The massive amount of rain caused inches of water to build up and seep in to the fortress built to be used as protection here in the square. Feeling that the time was right, Grace and her frost finch began to work their own magic.
Besides the obvious healing that came with her and her partner beginning to consume so many valuable herbs while meditating, there was a build up of wind and ice energies. This was hard to keep under control since the pair had to use their joint bind to suppress it from harming either one of them.
But they had managed to hold it together in a calm and controlled manner until now. Even Clark had missed the sheer amount of energies that the two were keeping held within their bond. This was an unintended bonus when it came to the damage done between them due to the energies harming Grace and the frost finch trying to keep energies from flowing in to her.
Now, their bond could handle a much greater amount of ice and wind energies flowing through it. Therefore, when the energies were released, the true strength that the first finch had managed to gain was shown.
Like most beasts, the energies were able to be breathed out of its mouth. The icy beak of the frost finch opened and the torrential rain began to freeze. In a similar motion as the water elemental gargoyle, a boom of wind buffeted the entire area. This was not simple wind though.
The rain became hail and snow. The water on the ground began to freeze in jagged crystals due to the effects of the wind coming from the frost finch. Grace's forehead became all wrinkles as she focused on controlling the flow of energy between her and her partner.
regardless of the strain on them, the area was changing massively by the second. Not many beast could have affected the rain that the water gargoyle was causing. It had expected that Grace and her partner would wait until it had finished causing the water to seep in to every aspect of the small fortress made within the square.
It had been wrong though. It was unable to control, it's surprised as it suddenly ceased its skill to stare in wonder at the beast and tamer that had massively grown without it knowing. From the thoughts that Alexander had shared with it, the group should not be so powerful. Should be unable to handle so much energy at once.
"Begin the attack!" Clara took the lead while Grace and the first finch also ceased their attack. They could not exhaust themselves entirely. Grace could still fire arrows made of ice that her partner created for her. That was what they had trained for. She had also taken notes of how Isa had been training.
As a wind and ice beast, the frost finch was able to manipulate the ice arrows that it made for Grace to fire. Relying on the skills that Grace learned from Maaria who was an archer extraordinaire, it was only easier.
Multiple arrows along with a few elemental attacks flew towards the walls thrown up by the lesser family heads. It was amazing how many attacks were flying through the air without resistance. What was even more stunning was the fact that the ice had an even more profound effect on the walls.
Because this was not a place used to freezing entirely, the walls and materials used in buildings were not made to resist freezing temperatures. Normally, snow would fall and melt within the same day. That meant that the cold would not be as strong as it was in Nebula City territories.
When the wooden walls shattered, there was a roar from the forces that Clara was leading. This was on top of the sudden brightness of flames that came from Clara using her beast's skills to her advantage. Specifically to wrap her saber in flames as she shared toward the strongest opponent within the fortress made by the lesser family heads.
The ferocity of battle was enough to make many of the surrounding homes shiver. It wasn't because of the damage being done, but the large amounts of energy being released. The weakest of both forces were being forced back. They could not handle being around the pressure of powerful beast. This did not include Grace. She had long stepped beyond being that weak.
All of this was going on with extreme strength that none of the Mourne family forces expected. All of their plans had begun to fall to pieces. It was a horrendous occurrence for the many that had believed themselves to be invincible. It was still not close to being over though. So many of the Mourne family forces were congregated in the one place that they should be. The Mourne family home.
The last place under siege.
