Chapter 657: Learn To Be More

Chapter 657: Learn To Be More

"Now that we have a moment alone," Alexander had given orders and allowed the Mane family head guards that had come with Clara to organize the students. It was only fair since some of them didn't want or could not fight.

This move was enough to allow those that were unable to fight to support. It would show that they were not considered useless to the new will of equality and betterment that the Mane family faction wished to see. It also allowed those with injuries to heal winstead of using them as pawns like the Mourne family did.

"I know you have been away, but I can already see from your movements that it was very well used time. And that you are ready to use it to fight now. Before, you were too full of uncontrolled rage and hatred. Now it has been made in to a fine blade."

The way that Alexander spoke was exactly what Clark had. It was a pure example of where he stood and what was happening with how he had developed.

While Clark still felt the pain and the anger within his heart, he had long begun to use it. He was no longer as blinded by it as he had been. This showed as he had walked in to Nova City without letting all those emotions rush back.

He had lost his cool here and there, but never beyond everything. The group he had, the people he was willing to proclaim as his new family, they were his base. The very reasons why he was able to stave off the raw emotions the entire time.

Every moment of training had chipped away as the unshaped mass of hate that built up the new foundations for his beliefs. He learned from other cities and people. He saw many more positive ways to live that he wished were here. Ways that would have prevented his parents from dying in flames. That was his drive now. Still full of anger and hatred, but not blinded by it.

"I can see it, you took that moonlight spearmanship and changed it. It's even harder for me to see through you now. I assume you adapted it to the energies within your body. Draconic energy that melds things together. An odd energy that makes your shadow dance and sway. Then the overwhelming deathly aura of someone that is willing to fight beyond life.

I am proud."

"I took in Clara because of who she was. Gave her the things she needed. Compared to you, as a mentor, I did not give you enough. From now until we go to battle tomorrow with the Mourne family pawns, you have access to whatever you need within the academy vaults. You and your group will be the ones to stand taller as the future."

"I wondered about that. The Mane family isn't taking more. Clara even said that she would let us take over." Clark did find it odd. He knew that the Mane family had planned things for a very long time.

It wasn't odd though. The Mane family was a large family, but they had been fighting this entire time. Using whatever means they ended to repress the Mourne family and their undeniable talent to corrupt and gather others. Especially when it came to consuming other families wealth and power. The Mane family had narrowly avoided losing its own allies.

"They are an old family. They will be hated the very same way as the Mourne family because of who they are and the name that they have. But if they back up the young and new champions made up of orphans, noble family children, and those who no one knew from the common wealth? Then it will bring more happiness to the general people."

"There are also other things for the older people like myself and General Mane to worry about."

There wasn't even a moment for Alexander to pause before Clark understood and spoke. "The blood moon cult. You and the other powerful people will hunt them once we begin the clean up here. Leaving us to deal with a bigger threat?" This wasn't a question being asked. Just a fact.

"The dungeons that they have started to target, those are the problem. It seems that they did not hide as much as we believed. They are active and using their gathered strength to gather more. The cities they took down were just fuel for them."

Alexander had gained very detailed reports from Terra City about the people that were forced to flee for their lives. So many had lost their homes. So many had been hurt or perished. But what he had learned after that, was that all the resources of each city had been stripped from vaults, merchant warehouses, and just about every aspect of the city.

The sheer number of materials taken would have been enough to raise a small army. But with what the blood moon cult was known for, they would be used to create monsters. People that gave up their humanity and allowed their beasts to suffer. Or worse, beasts that consumed their own tamers to become the worst of the worst monsters.

Just as the blood moon cult had in the past, they would cause dungeon breaks. Kill thousands. Find ways to experiment and manipulate the world. What was even clearer now, was that the blood moon cut had not just turned its eyes on the humans as it had before.

"They are also trying to work their way through the deeper wilderness. They want to get to dungeons that have many resources for them. Then they want to attack the cities of other races. The safe havens that the other races had created and used as places to create a bond with the humans.

These places linked their worlds through permanent dungeons. Important places that had become exchanges for cultures when the powerful humans and other races met. Each shared their world's resources and traded for the things they needed. Without them, the humans would not have had a chance to advance in some ways.

This was all secondary though. "There are larger dungeons that are having problems still too, right?" Clark saw this. He could tell in Alexander's eyes that there was more. Worse things going on that he wasn't being told.

"You are a little too interested in this for your age. They are places that I, and other generals, would handle. The city lords can handle them too." Alexander was looking at Clark very seriously. It was very easy to tell that he didn't want any of the students he was a mentor for to have to face places where beasts were more powerful with every step.

Even Clara would be stalled from attempting to go to these places. She was powerful, she was able to stand taller than most her age or older within Nova City. so much so that she was even considered strong enough to fight against the direct subordinates of the generals within the city. But she was not strong enough to fight a general. That was still a step away for her.

"That's fine then. I will wait for that then. First, I will help my group gain the strength they need to fight. I will head to the academy vault." Clark knew that it would not just be him benefiting from all the extremely high quality items within the vault.

The other students that pledged themselves, the other professors that pledged themselves, everyone that was ready. They would be fighting for the chances to have a better future too. Therefore, they would get the materials, potions, and whatever else that they ended.

The only thing that was left was how to do this. "And, I will be having my group offer beast plans to everyone that comes to the vault. They will get the materials they needed to make a definite leap in strength the before the battles begin.

I will not put them in a poor position if they truly wish to stand tall and represent equality." Clark's words made Alexander lose the serious expressions and smile.

Even through so much hatred, Clark was still allowing himself to show the positive desires for the future. This attitude was simply amazing. It was what every single person should strive to have. A set of values that would outshine many others.

"Then I will be preparing here as well. You will have a chance to see battle strategy on an army level. Watch everything closely." Alexander looked serious yet again. This was a lesson from a mentor now. Every step would show Clark the best way to grow as more than a person, as a leader of all.

'Major chain quest: bolstering your forces.

Requirement: assist every member of the Nova Academy forces in strengthening their beasts with materials, beast plans, and whatever else is within the Nova Academy vaults.

Rewards: 1 rare gacha ticket, 1 skill gacha ticket, twenty shadow crystals, twenty death crystals, twenty dragon crystals.'

The system even acted in the way that Clark felt was best.
