Chapter 656: Already Finished
Chapter 656: Already Finished
"Who cares what you think is right? You're just some old man. They are the Mourne family! I will follow them so I don't disappear!"
"Why are you giving in? That's all you're worth!?"
"Oh calm him weak for living under the most powerful tamer In The city? Aren't you hiding under an elderly legend?"
"It's about what's right! I refuse to live and hide waiting for someone else to decide my life to suit them."
"Then you are signing your family's death certificates. That's what happens if you go against them. That's where the rest of our class went with professor L."
These arguments had not ceased even though Alexander had stalled the physical fight. It was very easy to see that the cowards had gathered in one side along with those already in payment of the Mourne family.
In the other, the families who refused to bow because they believed in their strength and did not wish to see their parents, siblings, and so much more lost to the Mourne family. Not to mention the people that just had stronger values than others.
While this clash of emotions was already what the group expected, they had not expected the number of Injured people around.
Besides just students, guards, family guards, and multiple lower level professors lay on the ground nursing wounds, unconscious, and even dead. This was among their own beasts as well.
It was a sight that no one wanted to see or thought should ever be within an academy meant to teach the next generation. It was abhorrent to say the least.
The elemental energies that Alexander had his beasts radiating were enough threat to keep anyone from acting up. Especially since it was extremely clear that the more powerful of each side had been injured already.
"From this moment on, I am the acting head master of Nova Academy. There is no questioning this until we have remedied the issues within the entire city."
Silence weighed on everyone as they felt his words sinking in. this wasn't something that Aleczander was saying as a potential end to all this. This was just the way things were.
"Those of you who can not stand and face the future and wish to cower behind someone else, then you must leave. From this moment on, you are expelled from the academy. Professors that feel this way are also fired for the remainder of your life. Any family guards that are following masters with similar thoughts are also expelled from these academy grounds.
You have one minute to begin running before the young lady of the Mane family begins hunting."
With this, the gargoyles summoned their elemental affinities. Wind, water, fire, and earth energies intimidated everyone. But those that were at the receiving end of these attacks being gathered rushed to leave. Only a few remained. The stubborn, but mostly those that were frozen in fear.
Not a single one of them had the strength to go against Alexander. They had all believed that he was older now. That he would have grown weaker than the legend that had fought to clear countless dungeons and even helped build the academy as a whole. Now they understood that they were foolish in this.
His body might be older and weaker, but his beasts were much more powerful than they had been in his prime.
The group witnessed the last of those that were not supportive of a positive future running. There was respect in leaving them alive. Breeding more death here would have left this fresh start for the academy as a gruesome day. It was already rough and definitely not a very positive start to say the least. However, it would have been worse.
It left some enemies that were rushing to those who they served. They would definitely tell of how the academy grounds had been taken over. How they were damaged and that more importantly, there were injured opposing forces that could be attacked more easily right now.
That was a foolish idea though. Things were already in motion. Bigger things than what most people could imagine. "I see that you made it back!" Clara's eyes focused on Clark.
"It's been way too long." Clark smiled a little despite the fact that the atmosphere was holding a lot of stress. Too many injured were being cared for along with some dead being lined up for burial later.
"Maira, you also look like you grew quite a bit. Lit looks like she is doing very well. Can we bother you to take the lead on healing here for the time being?" Clara had not really met everyone. But she remembered Maria and was not so foolish to forget the strengths of the group members that Clark assembled. She knew well that Maria was the focus on healing and recovery.
"The rest of you, I am glad to see that Clark has a dependable team. I can tell that you are all very strong. Especially comparing you to the students who stood up here to fight. They can't compare." Clara was sure to show some respect. She knew that there were more goals than just the ones right here and right now. This was a group of people who would be running this city even before she had a chance.
She liked that though.
"My first student is looking like she cares much more about the second than I do right now. I am the mentor here, I should be the one stating that I am proud of growth and what not." Alexander looked like he was joking. However, his serious expression made it very clear that he was not focusing on his words right now.
"There was some turmoil here. Too many people taking away students and offering outrageous promises to bolster their forces. I was forced to act as soon as I returned to the city from the dungeon exploration. I can only give you some of the information you may need. But for now, we must sure up the defenses here."
This was the right move. The academy would be their home base of sorts. The Mane family had many guards here already and the academy grounds were already walled off. It was for the safety of students but also the safety of the city. Many accidents could happen with all the taming and other activities within the academy on a daily basis.
"That's a good plan by me. Is the lab space good enough? Ella needs to check materials, Maria needs to begin making some smaller potions, and I would like to see if Ralph can get to a forge somewhere as well. The more that they can do right now, the better things will be when we split off to handle the sections of the city."
Seeing that there were plans in place, Clark trusted them. Clara and Alexander had easily brought down the academy in a way. Yes, there were injured and dead, but they had been forced to act swiftly.
This wasn't a set back though. It was just the first step. The academy was very large. All the space needed for various buildings and students had to be spread out for what they needed to do. Some beasts were large or some alchemy experiments could explode. It was just smart.
Where things were more positive, was the fact that from the academy grounds, multiple sections of the city could be reached. This would allow for the group to split up and begin to handle the larger area of the city. They could lead groups along with the powerful family members from the Mane and other supporting families. This would be the way to break down the Mane family's control swiftly.
"Where is my mother and brother? Have they come back as well?" Ella's question was unexpected. Clark had expected that she would be focused right now on what needed to be done. But family was family.
"General Green is currently pursuing a group of blood moon cult members. She was the first to find them nearby and is doing her duty to the city. Your brother arrived and is currently handling the outer gate in the south. He already began taking down one of the families under the Mourne family. He did not waste time at all, your mother would be proud." Alexander spoke with pride.
He knew very well that the group had influenced the life of Ellas' older brother greatly. A powerful ally with a great potential future.
"Thank you." Ella nodded as she made a move to help Maria. She was well versed enough to assist with bandages and other things before she began to prepare everyone she could. Her knowledge about beasts would be very helpful when people faced troubling beasts from the Mourbne family.
"I will go and speak to some of the familiar faces. We should be preparing better supply chains. The students from other merchant families will already be thinking the same things." Isa realized that this was her role to play here. She would fuel the forces on their side to properly take over the city and start anew.
The plans were coming together and it was a matter of time before the real battles happened.
