Chapter 652: To Go Home
Chapter 652: To Go Home
Enjoying what was a happy and growing small village, regardless of the odd location, the entire group found themselves deeply affected.
It was easy for Isa and Ella to explain that this was both a unique place to gather some wares for sale and also for Ella to research the unity of beast and human together here. But what was unsaid was clear, the two of them wanted to see a small place where no one was corrupted.
Yes, there were some merchants that focused on making money, but that was for the village, not for themselves. The corruption that had taken place in a larger city like Nova where there are merchants who gave up everything to ignore the best for the people and only for a small group was too prominent.
Furthermore, the children here did not flinch away from the adults when they moved, they didn't even fear the stronger cliff goats that clearly didn't want to be bothered. Instead, they respected them and played happily nearby and around them. Even with them.
Scenes like this never happened in Nova City because of the general pressure that the larger families would put over the city as a whole. Not that they were openly threatening or anything. It was simply the fact that the family had that much influence.
An accidental word that could be misconstrued as something offensive toward them would ruin a business. A child bumping in to the wrong person could cause that child to disappear. Clark had been right at the front of it.
An entire block of the city had been burned because a young master of sorts from a prominent family had their best to grow stronger. They had thrown a tantrum and then destroyed the block. While the guards had poured water over the flames, they had not done a thing for the child in question, why? Because the family was too powerful.
Now Clark would avenge his family and clean up everything. That was the direct comparison that he and the entire group were making based on this small village.
Learning how to foster a better and more positive living environment could change Nova City for the better. By bringing together the other cities through trade and bonds with Clark's group, there would be a way for people to be more versatile. More adaptable to the world as a whole.
From this, there would be a wider variety of people who would bring new things to the cities constantly. This would mean that merchants would struggle to monopolize certain goods. A single thing taken away from the corrupted forces. That was one reason why this village was not pressuring anyone. They had certain materials and needed certain materials.
Ti would not change and because they did not have the ability to monopolize them, there were less chances to cause pain in that process.
Then there was the overall environment, the people were safe. Not just from the beasts that lived nearby this village in the wilderness, but from each other. They knew that they needed one another to grow their home. To allow their fellow villages to become the best that they could be. Fostering a small bit of this in Nova Academy would spread it to the city as a whole.
That was an important step to take.
A few hours of these kinds of thoughts left the group fairly calm. An odd calm that came with knowing that they had more ways to adapt when they reached Nova City again.
The entire rest of the tour had been to some closed mines which were used for storing goods in a temperature controlled way. The group had seen this in Terra City, but the village also used it to flow air through the more complex carved passageways. It was another artistic way of building.
They also managed to spot some of the cliff goats fighting off other beasts. The ravine crawlers were a beast that was somewhat like a cockroach. They lived within the dried leaves, shrubbery, and other foliage that fell and gathered in places at the bottom of the ravine. Because of this, they were fairly ravenous.
The cliff goats would spot them and use their tough horns to head but then causing the bodies of the ravine crawlers to become broken and fall back to the ravine floor where their fellow beasts would eat them. This was just part of the symbiotic environment that the cliff goats had with the tamers.
The villagers would show kindness after some small battles like this happened. They would stand tall and hold up a hand. The cliff goats had learned that this was an act of appreciation. Many generations had taught them this as they had taught their villager counterparts.
The villagers also ensured that the rest areas had blankets and softer places for those cliff goats that defended their homes to rest. Same with some shrubbery to eat.
"We are heading back instead of resting mre, aren't we?" Reese had been in the middle of polishing his partner, the spirit steel sword vibrating as if it was a cat purring white it bonded with its partner.
"Yes, if we come back in the night, then we will be able to meet with Clara Mane. She is the one that should be meeting with us. Also, Professor Wright should have gotten back sooner than later for us to meet her. But she will be waiting for us." Clark knew well that Professor Wright had worked very hard to handle some of her own issues.
Naturally, she would not be wasting the chance to see her students return stronger than before as well.
"I am already prepared to leave. I will be sure to handle things when they get in our way." Brad's entire stance showed that he was more serious and focused. The hyper focused tendency he got when he had a goal in mind showed constantly. It was as if it had taken over the majority of his personality.
When the group had first come together, he slept or lacked the focus at all times. This journey from city to city had sharpened his mind. Allowed him to grow the mentality that had brought him great leaps. If he had managed to train that without the group, he would still have grown much more powerful than he was. That was just how his talents worked.
"Are all of you still sitting around in here? The girls are waiting for us." Ralph shook his head and mumbled about everyone being slow. From what it seemed, everyone had just assumed they would leave without another day's stay. But they were leaving with calmer hearts. More stabilized minds as well.
When they were all outside, they found that a few of the villagers were there to send them off. It was easy for them to keep an eye of travelers, but also for them to understand when their guests may leave. "It was nice seeing some younger visitors for a change. Feel free to come back here on vacation."
The tour guide that had helped them was polite enough, but when she had spoken, the group realized that she was not as young as they thought. Some people were just blessed like that.
"We plan to come back on our travels one day. But for now, we have a city to clean up. My name is Clark. You might end up hearing some rumors about me and my family here. When we make those waves, know that your village inspired us to use certain positive aspects to clean up our own home a little better."
With this, the group smiled and waved and they walked away. The few villagers and their tour guide didn't know how to respond. But they all felt a small warmth. A simple few words had proven that their little village was not something to be ignored. It was the warm and happy home they loved and others could see that.
"I just wish we could have gone to the dungeons at the bottom of the ravine. We could have explored and gotten more materials. The villagers there even said that they rarely bother with them due to the dangers. Basically, they have plenty of materials we can get." Isa's rant had started when they were traveling almost immediately.
She didn't actually feel bad though. She was actually feeling like she was about to walk in to a major event. The city they had been gone from for months now, was finally going to see them return. And not just the same as they had been, but entirely different. Entirely stronger.
"We can take trips here again once we handle some problems. We won't be in control of the city too soon. But we are just taking down those we can face. The stronger people on the top will be handled by our allies. Alexander, General Mane, and even the stronger professors like Professor Wright.
We will handle the spoiled children and the people they have as guards." Clark spoke as he glanced at the clear sky full of stars.
One night of travel and they would return to their home. Just as the sun was rising.
