Chapter 651: Enjoying The Cliff Side

Chapter 651: Enjoying The Cliff Side

Elder cliff goat- rare

The elder cliff goat is beast with strong earth affinity. Even with its elderly state due to its age, it is still spry enough to climb the cliffs that its food grows on. It also has the strong mop like fur that can block the winds and dusts that the winds carry with it.

While it does not use its earth affinity to attack with earth at all, it uses it to travel easily in places like the cliffs where other beasts fail. It can even use the smallest of grips to climb and hunt the avian beasts that live on the cliffs as well, however, it prefers multiple shrubberies that grow on the cliffs.

While it is normally a peaceful beast, it is very particular about the way it loves and interacts with those it lives with.

It is known for living with a specific village of human tamers that work with it to help it give birth to eggs and keep those eggs safe as every beast needs. This is also important because it actually has a very low hatch rate success without the human assistance. It is a symbiotic beast in a way.

It also does not like to be challenged or moved. It is a stubborn beasts. This leads to it using its exceptionally tough horns to charge and attack those that do not stand their ground or attempt to attack them. It prefers a stubborn being the same as them.

Once they form a bond with a villager or a tamer, they are very loyal. As long as they are treated with respect, they will in turn protect and treat with respect. They are also known to protect young beasts or children to the death, regardless of them being children of an enemy or predator. They care for all young in their deepest core instincts.

While its shed fur can be used to form many clothing items, otherwise, it is not useful. Its horns can be shed once a year, but only the outer layers which become brittle. Leaving them to be fairly useless other than for showpieces.

Yet, the cliff goats have a decent talent for scouting out newly formed caves within the cliffs which often hold ores…'

Clark read this while looking at the lighter mop like fur coat on the cliff goat. It made a small huff sound before hopping on to another part of the impossible to climb cliff. The cliff goat was gone from the groups'meyes fairly quickly.

"That was one of the older cliff goats within the village. They often hang around this area to look for any visitors that they may see as a threat to the village. It is a unique method that they use to protect the rest of the cliff goats within their groups." The tour guide was impressed that this was going off without a hitch.

She was not used to the cliff goats accepting the entrance of ebay single member of a traveler's group. It was more common that they would not be approving of some of the more dangerous travelers. That just came with the fact that any travelers were travelers for a reason.

The group proceeded to follow while listening to how many years ago this section of the cliff side village had been carved out of the stone. It has been generation since the first people had lived here.

They were all amazed to what that it had started with a climber finding the fruits of the shrubbery growing on the cliffs. From there, they had managed to learn how to cut off parts of the stone cliffside to be able to create a rest area. Then a home. From there, it was history.

"These are called falling cherries. They are known for growing on the small bushes and are a favorite food of the cliff goat. They often fall from great heights which split open the fruit. Avian beasts or cliff goats will eat the split fruits and the seed will be passed through them and land on the small ledges on the cliffs allowing them to grow there. They are a valuable part of this cliff."

This was something that Isa had already requested to purchase and take with them. The falling cherries were a somewhat rare fruit that could be sold for a decent price. She wanted to sell them to Nova City merchants from a small profit that would help the group overall.

But this was just one stop. After another ten minutes, the group made it to a large cut in the fluff. The cuts were more controlled proving that they were done so to ensure the structure of the village.

This open space had quite a few people resting. Along with some younger cliff goats that had maintained their positions sitting nearby villagers. "As you can see, this is a small square where we will have general studies for the younger students. We also use this as a general meeting place for many people. It is the best place for you to meet some residents. Feel free to take a walk around."

The tour guide allowed them to move about. Naturally, a few children rushed up to see who these people were. As long as a tour guide brought them this far, it meant that these were not evil people who would act poorly within their village. Let alone the simple fact that the elder cliff goat had not stopped them.

While most of the group was preoccupied with this, Clark caught Ralph standing face to face with a larger cliff goat. With a quick analysis, he found that this was a mother cliff goat. One that was specifically standing in front of Ralph because her child was moving around Ralph's legs and headbutting his leg over and over.

While Ralph was looking at the mother wondering what to do, the mother was looking at the little cliff goat with the same look. It was just a general look that any parent could give a child that was acting like a fool.

When Ralph reached a hand out to the mother, it looked at him and snorted a little before laying down. It was naturally not letting Ralph touch her at all, but the little cliff goat jumped surprisingly high and head butted Ralph's hand. It appeared Ralph had made a friend without much effort.

"Oh, here all of you go. Take some of these cherries and feed our friends around here. They all look like they enjoy having you visiting." from what it appeared, it was a teacher in charge of a few students that were scratching their heads and looking up with clear desire to meet the strangers.

"And all of you must finish your last chapter of reading if you would like to meet the guests within our village."

The teacher handed the group some of the falling cherries. She appeared to really enjoy her position in the village along with being able to meet travelers here and there. But where Clark found himself a little stunned, was that there were four cliff goats that focused on her. Clearly, they were her beasts and they were watching her carefully to protect her.

This was just evidence of the importance she had overall.

While everyone enjoyed this little trip, Ella had begun to record a lot here. She made notes about the food production within the village along with other aspects of how they lived. The wind that they used to dry their clothing from the waters that they used to wash their clothing that came off the side of the cliffs.

All of this was carefully designed by the villagers to make their lives safer and easier. "When we return home, we will be able to make adjustments that will add to the lives of everyone within Nova City. as much as we wish to just get rid of the corruption, we should think of ways to improve everyone's lives." Ella had a point.

She clearly could tell what Clark might be thinking about and asking him about.

"I always wonder why you take so many notes. But you are always learning. Especially here. Plenty of ways for you to use this knowledge and help everyone with it. Even the smallest entails." Clark felt some pride in the group while he watched them interact here.

This was the warmth he wanted Nova city to have. Overall, he wanted it to be a place where they could go to truly grow and prosper. This entire village had done it while on a cliff side. A place most people would consider inhospitable. Impossible even. Yet, it had happened.

But right now, the inhospitable place was Nova city. Filled with people that would go out of their way to cause others harm. Going out of their way to breed pain and suffering for small gains in their own selfish ways. Everyone wanted to fix that very thing.
