Chapter 644: Extreme Poison

Chapter 644: Extreme Poison

"Wait, you don't want to stop that the vine floor dungeon?" Isa had been expecting that they were going to stop at the vine floor dungeon.

On the violent jungle map, he had already determined some dungeons that might not be the most dangerous. That would hold a decent amount of valuable herbs and materials. Therefore, the idea had been to stop at them so that they could recoup some of the things they had used for Isa to sell or for Maria to use as alchemy ingredients.

Yet, when Clark had spoken out that he had changed their course to follow the river, they were all a little surprised. "I want us to stop by the crushing falls. It's the largest waterfall in the violent jungle. It's right nearby, upstream that is. But there should be herbs that need the cooler mists from the jungle waterfall to survive. And unique beasts that can only live there."

This made Ella more interested which was a major backer in this plan. Clark knew well that she would be the one that wanted to be able to train herself against all the new beasts, let alone record what she could learn from them in her journal. The violent jungle still held so much to learn.

"I can see where you are coming from. The vine floor dungeon would only offer a variety of vine related herbs and fruits. The beasts there also are similar so it would be somewhat troublesome to fight them. But we could get things that Ellas' brother could use for his beast there." Isa did feel bad that they would be ignoring something valuable to Ellas' brother.

"No, he will be fine. He is traveling to be able to recoup his strength. But after Clark helped him with his partner and recovery, he will be much stronger." This was all that needed to be said. Reese, Jerold, Brad, and Ralph appeared to not care at all what direction they were going. They trusted Clark to take them in an optimal route.

"Will we be able to find what we need there? Or is it just a faster route for us to take to get home?" Grace was the one that caught on to what Clark might be doing. With how much they had all advanced, it made sense that he wanted to take the time to return to Nova academy and make their first move. They could easily handle some of the stronger tamers in theory.

"It will also get us home a day earlier than we said we would. But I figure that day will be to camp outside the city and deals with any merchants nearing us." Clark also looked at Isa who appeared happy to hear this. She wanted to help them get whatever they needed. An extra day would be perfect for that.

"Then get moving. We have a waterfall to look at before we get home." Ralph huffed a little. He put himself forward and pushed the entire group ahead. He clearly had his own reasons for wanted to push ahead. The sooner they left this place, the safer it would be for Grace to keep healing herself. It just made sense.

The journey was something simple, they were still somewhat following the rover. Now that they had dealt with their time in a dungeon, they were in a more relaxed state. This led to Jerod picking up on more beast tracks than before.

It allowed everyone to get more expense in tracking as a whole while adjusting where they were going to ensure that they did not run in to the beasts that made those tracks. For some time, it would be valuable, but later, when the group shared the violent jungle information with the world, it would be considered a massive educational moment. Not that they would be sharing this right away.

Time would be needed to be able to share this due to the dangerous things that everyone had discovered. Beasts thought to be going extinct that had resurfaced stronger than ever. Dungeons with ideal conditions for any beast to grow stronger. And valuable materials that everyone would fight for a chance to hold.

That could make the violent jungle a place that was ransacked by those without respect for nature.

That was what the group would avoid. They had more strength than they realized now. It would be hard for them to miss it.

"I can hear the water. This is the start of the rapids?" Jerold could hear the rumble of falling water on stone. He knew that the rapids they saw earlier were fast moving water for a reason, but as they neared the sounds that made their chests seemingly vibrate, everyone could understand just why this waterfall was able to influence the environment around it.

A massive waterfall spanned longer than what any of them had expected. Even the map did not explain the true size and height of the crushing waterfall was something that could easily cause many people to wonder if they could even face nature like this.

Some evidence of trees falling down the river were caught on the stone below. Over time, they had been splintered more and more leaving them floating in the froth from the constantly aerated water. The mist was cool instead of the usual warm jungle mist that just made everyone sweat more.

From what everyone could see, it also allowed for heartier pants to grow. Larger leaves to capture more sunlight and warm the plants compared to the smaller leaves on the plants outside this area.

Smaller beasts also were moving around the large leaves as well. They appeared not to worry about anything nearing them nor about the people walking nearby them. Just jumping away when anything neared them.

'Extreme poison frog- ultra rare

Only able to live in an incredibly moist environment, the extreme poison frog is forced to live in smaller places at all times. They are often peaceful because of their natural poisons. Due to their strong water affinity when young, they will develop skin that allows them to easily move moisture in and out of their body, limiting their ability to live anywhere dry.

As they age, they will gain immense toxins and awaken their extremely powerful poison typing that trumps their water affinity. As they absorb these energies, they will secrete a potent toxin that is considered impossible to counter with potions unless they are of the highest class and given to the victim right away.

The frogs do not enjoy harming others and will avoid any contact naturally. However, they will rub themselves on something that actively attacks them. They also prefer to eat the smallest insect type beasts larva that will live in the edges of their territory. This is why they will often be found near the edge of the mists of the crushing waterfall instead of the large pools nearby due to the mist.

Their poison can be used to help a poison type beast grow rapidly. The only side effect is that the poison may overwhelm the beast in questions. This is due to the incredibly potent nature fo the poison that the extreme poison frog creates.

To make a potion to counter this species of frog…'

Clark looked at Jerold getting his attention, "have your beast catch one or two of these frogs. They are extreme poison frogs. They can be used to help it grow more. Just make sure it is the tiniest touch at a time. Your beast can even be poisoned by it." The armored chameleon had originally had a poison typing.

But due to its growth to become an armored chameleon, it had lost some strength in that respect.

"Sounds like I will be working alone here for a little bit then. I won't touch them either." Jerold nodded as his armored chameleon took its normal beast form. It had not been able to make much progress when it came to strength. This wasn't because it had not gotten stronger or was limited. It just had a unique forced growth to protect Jerold in the past.

That Was how it became an armored chameleon's and not a poison chameleon or more than that.

With a chance to regain the strength of its poison typing, it would have the chance to grow much stronger to be able to keep up with the others. Beyond that, this environment was also ideal to it to live in.

The mist would keep its own skin damp enough not to worry about drying out. It would be able to blend in easily within the jungle since it could camouflage and even help Jerold hide in plain sight.

Not to mention, the herbs around also had poison typing. It could easily strengthen the toxic saliva that it had in its mouth and used when it attacked with its tongue. It would be good to have their assassin and tracking member grow like this. The group knew that Jerold was better alone most of the time too, that was where his strength had been focused. Therefore, everyone supported this for him.

They also were surprised that Clark had seemingly planned this potential.
