Chapter 628: All Clean
Chapter 628: All Clean
With trust in his teammates, Clark pushed ahead to create space. The echoing laughter that caused the broken ice golem to shift around without any success in its attacks allowed him this chance.
He had been instructed to handle the larger threat. This was what Grace was using as the best way to allow the remainder of the group to handle the various other opponents they were facing. It not only showed her mental strength as a newfound strategist, but also that she understood her own role in their training.
Being able to split the group in an effective manner like this was easily the best choice. Clark could handle the strongest opponent since he knew the weak points it had. Not only that, but the group was well overpowered for this dungeon.
That was not the point though. They were acting as escorting forces for Grace. It was the best method to train their abilities in both teamwork and important.
Knowing that everyone would be fine, he began to push himself away from them more. He had already told Devi that they were treating this as an all out battle. It was why the wings that Crim could form in his armor form had flipped out wide behind Clark.
The attack he was hoping for was not one that would cut the joints or break the ice holding the golem together. He was aiming for a swift and decisive stroke that he could use to completely defeat the enemy right here in front of him. There was also the desire to return to the group. It only made sense to handle this threat quickly then return to defend their escort target.
A deep breath began the process of gathering energy. Through the flowing storm's meditation technique, Clark began to influence the black lightning spear. He had done so before, but grasping the real essence of the spear he had won from the system was beginning to carve itself in to his body and mind.
Using the unique energies of his beasts and the spear's skill to gather energy, Clark could cause slight sparks instead of a full release of energy. He understood that. This was why he had to train it as if he was going to face a much more powerful opponent. He had to feel it properly and use it with all his might.
The turtle breathing skill he had just gained also allowed his focus to sharpen. The usual desire for deep breaths over and over to allow his blood and heart rate to rise was lessened. Clark could feel that his body naturally adjusted to this flow.
He had known that some storms had an eye in the middle. A calm that was unlike what was happening around it. This new addition, the turtle breathing, allowed him to think of himself as that part of the storm. He was the eye of the storm, and every bit of the area around him would fall victim to the storm he was creating.
The moment that Devi sensed that Clark was ready, he rushed away in an invisible form. The laughter ceased causing the wild swings of the broken golem to halt. It had lost the main target that it could hear all around it. Therefore, it found itself at a loss, the only thing it sensed was an incoming attack from behind it.
Crim's control and melding with Clark had reached a brand new level. The celestial slime armor that Crim took the form of to protect Clark had narrowed. The slime body that Crim had was controlled with the utmost care and focus. This allowed their dive from the sky to be more aerodynamic.
The black lightning spear showed a single arch of lighting as Clark sped through the air. The wind around him appeared to be acting of its own volition to push him faster. The piercing attack came with a roar of a dragon behind it acting as the thunder that came after the lighting.
The broken golem could not even have a second to attempt an attack as it had been before when Devi was redirecting it. Now, it could only fall to pieces as the icy core that barely held its metal pieces together was finally broken. As after many years of wandering aimlessly with only battle as the focus of its existence, the broken golem fell for the last time.
"Yes, I know we have to return to the group. Can you and Crim start to gather the materials here? I will head back over… Oh, they won already too. I guess they were waiting for a good chance to show off too."
In the time that Clark had distanced the broken golem then defeated it, the group had managed to send a flurry of attacks at the multiple weak beasts that had dared to attack them. For them, it had been as if the beasts were moving in slow motion. As if they were holding themselves back. As if they were training dummies.
Everyone had followed the plans as Grace had announced them. They guarded the sides and back of their allies while remaining on edge to be sure that nothing slipped by. The hammer that attempted to Target Grace had been caught and slammed to the ground by Ralph. Brute force might not be the best method for this battle, But Ralph could easily judge the strength of this opponent.
"There you are, you should have gotten a lot of metal pieces, right?" Ralph looked at Clark as he had already gathered a decent few chunks of metal. The shards were ideal for him to work on in forging.
"Yes yes, I gathered everything with Crim and Devi. Just be sure that they are used well." Clark knew that Ralph would be using them to make something to ensure the best storage of ice and wind related herbs.
" I think you took them all down. I expected more of this broken dwarven golem remnants. But the pieces over there are all dead already." Grace pointed to where Jerodl had just begun to walk and examine. He was showing a thumbs up that they were safe to walk there too.
"I bet that this is where a major fight happened for them. There are some pieces here that definitely did not reanimate as beasts barely able to function." Maria pointed to the crumbling metal pieces in the snow. They were definitely not pieces that had risen to fight again based on their status of being trapped in ice and snow instead of being held together by it.
"The breeze I started making seems to be going all throughout this entire grove now." Isa felt as if she had lifted the spirits of the area. The undead dwarven skeletons had been put to rest by them. The stillness was fading. The trees were moving slightly in the breeze causing a slight mist of snow to be thrown in to the air causing a sparkling effect within the sky.
'Chain quest (fourth Link)- Clean up
This dungeon is a remnant from the dwarven lands that was destroyed and damaged. That is why existence removed it and turned it in to a dungeon.
Requirement: defeat all beasts within this dungeon.
Rewards: one ice herb gacha ticket, one wind herb gacha ticket, ten wind crystals, ten alchemy flame crystals.'
"I think we cleaned it all up already." Clark smiled seeing the announcement from the system. He was glad they had this small chance to change their mentality for the violent jungle travels. It was good to use this as a way to alter how they focused in general. Being flexible in life and battle would save their lives every single time.
He also knew that he had multiple gacha tickets to use now. Two ice herb and two wind herb gacha tickets were already being spun as he thought about it.
'The dungeon will be closing forever within one hour.'
A small warning from the system as he waited for the system to draw the gachas. It was good for him to know when everything ended. For when the dungeon was going to close for the last time.
This space was a leftover land from when wars had been fought between different dwarven kingdoms. A time when they had been full of negative emotions. Since the group had passed through here and put to rest every beast within, it was a large part in a greater effort to cleanse the dwarven lands. Even if they did not know it themselves.
The thoughts brought Clark to wonder if there was a chance that more places like this existed. So many that the dungeons were not truly parts ripped from lands of other races. But actually the parts removed by exitance to allow those races to still grow over the years. It was an interesting theory.
"I would guess we have a little under an hour to hunt for herbs. Everyone should participate. Then we will leave." Clark saw the agreement from everyone before they started their searches with grace as the leader.
