Chapter 614: Finished Quests
Chapter 614: Finished Quests
Clark was sure that if he just started pulling these rewards out of thin air right this second, that the group would be angry with him. However, when he looked around, he found that Brad was actively preparing a tent along with eating a piece of jerky. Je had tired himself out a lot and needed to rest.
The stress on his body from using partial skills, the berserker skill, was literally too much to handle. Compared to everyone else, Brad had developed his body the most. He was muscular, had more stamina, and generally just more fit. That was all to handle the stress that came with defending and attacking with a large shield and sword.
Therefore, it made sense. But it was still not enough to handle his strongest skill that came with a hell of a back lash. Clark could only imagine the muscle tears that Brad had gained just from partially controlling a skill that had sent him in to a rage before. It was one of the first times he had used it since that time. But the recovery had been brutal.
Now it was many times lesser, still important though.
The others were similar. Either eating, preparing camp, or spending time with their beasts to evaluate everything. Ella was the outlier since she was looking through her journals and creating a new smaller journal about the ancient elves. She would soon bother Clark which made him prepare himself mentally.
"Hey, can you give me your spatial ring for a second? I want to drop some of my notes and journals in it. You can look at them when you finish your work." he knew that Ella was too focused and just waved her hand at him to take it.
In just a second, the four violent jungle reward books had been placed inside with Ella none the wiser. He knew that she would bother him later, but luckily, she was too focused on her own research notes. He just hoped that she would hold back if she decided to hit him when she found all this knowledge that he had somehow gained.
For a moment, Clark thought he could say he found it in the ancient elf temple, but that would create more challenges. After another second of thinking, he handed the ring back and walked to his own space.
He noticed that Devi appeared to be a little clingy. It was most likely because he was on edge. The sounds of the entire exiled ancient elf temple collapsing definitely caused some beasts to focus on the area.l however, Clark was confident that he knew what was going to happen.
The bravest of beasts would try to enter the outer circle. They would smell the lingering effects of the dying drunken grapes. They would even fall under effect of them since there were many still rotting and fermenting on the jungle floor.
Those beasts would be brave, but they would be prey. Stronger beasts would come to hunt them and over the course of a few weeks, this entire central area would be a fight amongst beasts for territory.
It made sense that it would not last long though. The dungeon that would form here would most certainly take over. Especially if the beasts left it. Regardless, it would have energies that other beasts might not possess. Therefore, only beasts that needed those energies might come to live here. That meant light type beasts.
Sighing a little after he gave Devi some peace of Mind, Clark thought to Crim, who was already sleeping. He was seriously tired after showing off his new armor from. Clark was very proud of Crim's growth and was now worried about Shy's growth. But he still had rewards from the system to look at.
'One random gocha ticket had been rewarded. The forging material gacha ticket had been rewarded.'
'The magic map making skill had been rewarded.'
'Magic map making skill- legendary
This skill is related entirely to map making. It requires specific beast materials. Beast blood with energies of beasts in the area attempting to be mapped is required. Tanned skin of beasts in the area is also needed. Energy crystals that match the type of beast are also needed.
By using the energy crystals as fuel, the blood will soak the entire beast skin. Through a softening process that the user must spend five hours on, the skin will be softened and refined. After this, it must be cut or else it will be unable to be cut.
Due to the energy flowing in to the skin and the unique process detailed here…
… this cut skin will appear the same shape as a rolled map. The color of the blood will have faded and will only appear as the holder of the map walks the area they are attempting to map. It is considered a magic map but has these strict requirements.
To skip these requirements, blood of a world traveling beast species can be used. Skin of a world traveling beast species can be used. Energy crystals that match multiple beasts can be used. The process will also take a full day to process and shape. It is considered extremely hard to create a map that skips the previous requirements…'
There was much more information that Clark found burned in to his head. He also felt bloated because of the sheer mass of information he now knew.
Regardless, he was very happy to see that it had all come together. He could easily make these maps along with a few other things. He could also teach the one person he knew would want this more than anyone else. Ella. but just as he thought this, he realized that Isa would definitely be on his case if she did not learn it either.
Since he had the knowledge, he would be willing to teach them. It just needed to be the right time. And time was what they would have since they were taking the long way back to Nova City.
'The forging material gacha is being drawn…
Cloud iron- ultra rare
Cloud iron is a very unique iron that was exposed to air while it was breaking away from a high up mountain. It was exposed to both water and wind that came together while clouds formed. This allows it to be an extremely rare and useful conductor of water and wind mana together.
Many have attempted to forge it but failed because the excessive strengthening will cause it to lose the properties that cause it to be valued. However, if forged properly, it is able to be used in a variety of ways that allow it to better use the energies it had an affinity for…'
Clark stopped reading the analysis. He was very glad that this was one of the rewards. Either Ella or Grace could use this. However, having Grace use it as a piece of material to be forged in to a handle might be better. A saber, a rapier, or a whip could be created with the frost finch's assistance.
Therefore, the handle could be this metal that allowed her and her partner to better use the energies she needs.
With all this done, Clark leaned back and let his head rest against a tree. He didn't even bother to set up a tent. He was tired just like everyone else. What he was really glad for, was that there were no more champion quests related to survival. Did he think more might appear? Yes.
For now though, he did not have a quest to worry about.
He could also start to mentally evaluate the level of strength that everyone had. Mentally, they had grown the most.
While the group had gained a lot of strength physically, they had been reliant on the cities they stayed in or traveled to. Being in this wilderness allowed them to be able to experience the mental stress that they might never get back to those safe walled in cities.
That tempered their minds to handle the worst possible situations. Their stress was shaping their senses. Especially since most of them had been focusing on each other's skills and talents. That had allowed all of them to strengthen their own weaknesses and adapt their own thoughts accordingly.
Having the ability to fight and be strong was just that, a basic ability that they had seen their whole lives. But being able to make tougher decisions and realize the greatest dangers within a split second? That was what they were training here. Their instincts could save their lives anytime and anywhere.
When Clark realized that Maria had come over and sat next to him, he was barely able to keep himself awake. "Just sleep first and I will keep watch. Then you can tell me all about how long our adventure back will be and what dungeons we are raiding." Maria could tell that someone needed to keep watch.
She was gladly taken that burden while enjoying a little quality time with Lit, her Midnight eel, and the growing cocoon.
