Chapter 600: The Main Beast Body

'Life sawing vines beast- ultra rare

The life sawing vine beast gets its name from the many sharp thorns it uses to cut down anything that lives near it. This is because it prefers an area covered in rot and decaying plants to feed itself. It grows through contact with rotting things. However, it can also use its multiple mouths of thorns to break things in to pieces. Especially living creatures that will rot at a faster rate if done so.

The poisons on and in its thorns is known as a decaying poison. It can accelerate the decaying process and make things fall apart at a faster rate which is ideal for it. Counteracting this poison is often done by cutting off the affected area before it spreads to the major organs.

It is possible to use an antidote, but the antidote must be created from the same life sawing vine beast that caused the poisoning.

Because it is so powerful and quick in growth, this beast is able to enslave other plant type beasts that mutate in the area. It is also known to have flowers that steal seeds from other plants and force them to mutate and become unique plant beasts that have no choice but to share their nutrients with it.

The dark typing, poison typing, and earth typing allow for it to use the skills related to poison and decaying much more efficiently. This is seen in the decaying breath attacks that it can use when facing its mouths at prey. However, because it is a plant type beast, it is trapped where its roots developed.

It is unable to leave that area which is why it grows thorny vines to spread and collect more nutrients.

In certain swamps, this beast would be held in check by the swamp armored alligators or the sharp beak grouse. Both would consume its vines, roots, or the fruits it produces when trying to spread its body further. However, without these natural checks, this beast has been known to grow out of control.

The teeth it has in its mouths are known as amazing poisoning materials. Used to create weapons with decaying effects. This is temporary though unless enough poisonous sap is reserved to soak the weapon often. The beast also creates dense root balls that are surprisingly pure from decaying toxins or poisons.

They are ideal for the youngest beasts to gain a large amount of nutrients that allow for them to grow…'

Nothing Clark saw was good. This beast had a strong poison type that was further enhanced by the darkness typing. It was well known that the stronger dark type beasts could cause a rotting or decaying effect with their skills. This just came from the fact that a lot of darkness beasts also were able to bring out the worst pof things.

Regardless of the odd science that this all came to create, Clark knew thatthe dangers were very high. If one of his group was injured with this poison, it would be  a very tough thing to counter. One of their group could get infected and lose a limb or their life!

This aside, they could all be poisoned if the beats used a poison breath attack that spread their decaying poison in the air. Just one breath without enough resistance to such attacks would be the end of things.

"Isa, the beast that is controlling these vines will be using some attacks that spread in the air. Between you and Grace, we will either have to blow it away or burn it. If we can find Ella and Maria, we might have  a better chance…" Clark knew that they could not rely on this. He still wasn't sure how large overall this dungeon was. He had no idea where the other two girls might be.

Then there was Jerold who was still missing.

"We will need to dodge the larger thorny vines and make sure that we can get to the core root ball. When we defeat it, we might be able to take the teeth, poison, and the root ball as food. But for now, we should worry about having a strong enough attack to handle this. Devi might be able to sneak and attack the root ball, maybe." Clark didn't dance around the risks here. He was very clear with them.

"Reese and I will work on chopping the vines. My partner can start burning its body too." Ralph had a point. Reese had the spirit steel sword as a partner. With the unique energies he could control, he should be able to cut through some of the tougher thorny vines. Then with Ralph having his molten boar spill out heat, they could change where the beast was mowing and create an opening.

"Then that's what we will do. Isa and Grace can attack from long range. Grace will use ice spike carried by wind unless there is a poison breath attack and isa will use fire projectiles to keep the poison risk down in the air and do damage." Clark agreed with everything as they saw the larger vines cut away the trunks of rotting trees.

The sight that they all found themselves greeted by was exactly as Clark had read from the system analysis. A large space has been cleared around a writing ball of roots and vines. Some rotting wood was pulled in and shredded by the thorns. The constant movement of sawing and shattering made all of them feel a shiver. This was a beast that lived to destroy an entire area.

The purple got denser in color along the main vines until it came to the large writhing mass. But they could all see the shape of a large round head that had formed attached to a  majority of the density vines. Right below that a smaller ball that was all roots digging in to the soil to draw water and the nutrients being gathered in the rotting pool it sat above.

The large ball of a head had multiple mouths that were not as large as the vicious fly traps they had all seen before. But they were well spaced and could feed on multiple things at once. A true proof that this beast was able to constantly eat even when it was occupied in one space.

"Shy, get close and bait it so that devi can sneak in to bite it. We will start fighting too." Clark gave a nod to the others.

Shy had let Grace down so that she could attack from a distance. This allowed Shy to move the body she had stolen and let the poisonous vines arc out in attack. The sudden attack of vines that the life sawing vine beast had controlled earlier shocked it slightly. It was not used to attacks from other plant type beasts. If it was in its natural environment, it would face such attacks at times.

Here, it was never attacked in such a way.

The shift in the larger vines was enough to allow Clark to push forward. He split from Reese and Ralph as a ball of flames hit the beast. This caused another reaction of pain and all the thorny vines to shift again.

The three boys leaped up as a vine swiped below them attempting to attack whatever was attacking it. This would have world if the group had not trained their senses and battle abilities. They had control over their bodies. They all easily dodged such an obvious attack. But when Clark struck a vine, he was pushed back. It barely caused damage.

The same for Ralph occurred since he had struck a similarly thick vine. However, with Reese, a large chunk was cut out of the vines cleaving the part of the thorn attached to it. "Strike where the thorns grow! That's weaker!"

The information was very much welcomed as Clark changed where he was aiming for the next attack in his combination. Thus, he found he had also slashed off a thorn and opened a larger hole in the vines. The bleeding sap was pouring out which caused the beast to retract even more vines.

Just as the beast started to breathe in air with its mouths, a smaller fireball hit it. This caused the inflating large head to shrivel again and remain at the same size. Isa was keeping solid support as Grace sent smaller ice spikes using the wind from her partner to distract the smaller vines that were starting to retract the longer that the battle went on.

It was in their best interest to finish this sooner than later.

"Large vine incoming!" Reese wanted them as a massive vine removed itself from the muck and arched upwards to slap down on top of where Reese had just attacked. The vine seemed slow, but it was larger enough to cause significant damage if Reese did not move. However, he did not hesitate to take a battle ready stance.

He had himself prepared for a real attack and his partner also knew they could handle this.
