Chapter 56: Unhappy Sights
Chapter 56: Unhappy Sights
"I can't believe the genius came back to the school to give special lessons to the fourth years. She had been teaching the youngest son of the Mourne family and the Green family's oldest son!"
"I can't believe the two of them are even in the same room. The Green Family and The Mourn family sons have been at each other's throats for their entire school stay."
As soon as Clark overheard this he saw the world tinge red. His fists clenched. Devi and Crim felt the pure rage emanating from Clark. The crowd around them even shuddered slightly trying to back away. They could feel the pure bloodlust in the air but were not sure where it was coming from.
Crim started to growl softly unsure of what was making Clark so angry. He could only tell that there was a threat and that he needed to defend Clark. Unlike Crim, Devi was more knowledgeable about what was going on. He knew the danger if Clark reacted in any way and opened his mouth to bite Clark.
The numbing pain caught Clark unaware. He snapped back to reality to find a few people staring at him. "Ehm, sorry. I got a little excited." His words were enough to shake the gazes off since they were excited too.
When Clark looked again, he could see the cold and calm look that Clara had while attacking the two boys at once. She was clearly holding herself back significantly. The thorn armor that wrapped around The Green family's youngest son was fairly superior to most armors that Clark had seen. He was instantly forced to analyze it with the system.
'Living thorns- Ultra Rare
The living thorns are a very unique beast that lives symbiotically with the tamer. It is able to absorb nutrients from the tamer and even survive the loss of most of its body if the tamer survives. They have unique poison resistance along with water, earth, and light typing. They require very careful selections of materials to grow more due to the fact that the tamer must consume them first.
They will slowly grow in to armor that can defend their tamer while also being able to shift in to whips that can travel through the earth to attack.'
Having this knowledge would prove very useful in the future for Clark. If the green family sone was often at odds with the Mourne family then it was likely that Clark may find an ally in them. There was also the fact that the Green family could be dangerous in the future. He had no idea what the Green family was like since he had not heard much about them.
'Magma salamander- rare
The magma salamander is a species of beast with exceedingly high potential. They can consume a variety of earth and fire materials to become stronger, eventually growing in to a volcanic salamander. They have high control of fire and earth which they like to fuse within their attacks. They are extremely weak to water but immune to most wind attacks.
They always fight independently from others and will become very protective of the tamer even if they are mistreated. They prefer the hottest possible temperatures.'
The Mourne family's son was using a short sword to slash at Clara fruitlessly. His attacks were swept away while Clara also countered his lava salamander's fire ball attacks easily. She had no issues going against fire type beasts since her lynx was also fire type.
Just as Clark thought that he was going to have to sit and watch more of this, Clara stopped and said something to the two that sent them away. The remainder of the fourth year students were sent away with their professors as well. It appeared that Clark had managed to see the end of the training.
When he looked at Clara again, Clark found that she was looking at him, or at least she had been before her gaze turned to the side of him. She had slightly wide eyes for a moment before she glared again. Clark looked over to see that Maria was partially hiding behind him with Lit floating in front of her. He couldn't fathom why Clara would glare at Maria.
She made a single nod to Clark which said more than it seemed. He would find her later, he was sure that they would meet to speak. Especially since Alexander must have known that this was going on. "Maria, I changed my mind. We are going to head to my room. You should meditate and try to train on your own.
I'll share some of my books on pressure points and biology. That way you can aim better with your arrows."
The suggestion seemed to bode well with Maria who started to hurriedly leave the arena. She was silent and shaky in her walk. Clark was not going to force her to tell him what was going on. Instead, he would wait to see what Clara had to say.
Upon returning to the dormitory, Clark grabbed the books he had already read and handed them to Maria. She nodded and thanked him before rushing in to her room next door. The door slammed shut and he was left alone with curiosity becoming stronger. "Come on Crim, we will have you train another way."
The fact that Clark needed to figure out how he would deal with a lava salamander that might grow in to a volcanic salamander was forefront of his mind. That meant that Devi and Crom would both need to somehow attack a beast with a very hot body. Omne that would surely burn them if they touched it.
That alone meant that Devi would not be able to bite it and Crim might lose some of its slime body with every attack even though he had dragon scales formed from his slime.
The answer would have to come through growing Crim and Devi stronger. But for that, he needed to get to the point where he was strong enough to open his beast taming space. Therefore, Clark sat down and began to meditate. At first, it was tougher because his emotions had become wild. He still wanted to go there and target the son of the Mourne family who he had not known was a fourth year student.
Luckily, he had Devi and Crim there to help him remain focused. Once he began processing energy and focusing on his body, he began to make some progress. The materials he had were not enough. From what the system had explained to him was that he needed a central item to form the core of his beast taming space.
The grasses, bones, and stones he had were just pieces. They were not something strong enough to hold the kinds of energy he wanted. That meant that he would need to leave the academy again. He would need to find a place with matching unique materials for him to snatch away. The best method would be to ask Alexander when he saw him. That's what mentors were for.
Just before Clark stopped meditating and opened one of the books to study, a single knock on his door made him jolt up from the floor.
