Chapter 542: Needed Items
Chapter 542: Needed Items
Clark found himself walking at the front of the group with Purple after they had taken some time to catch up and rest. "The time you were gone was barely anything. To think that so much happened…" Purple felt that the time differences in dungeons was too amazing. The mystery behind how everything was connected together is even more of a grand mystery.
"Trust me, none of us could have predicted what would happen. Our theories about not seeing any cult members after hearing that there was trouble ended up being that they were after the dungeon. We thought that we would be fighting the cult members in the dungeon. Next thing we knew, we were watching two cities fall."
This didn't anger Clark any less now than it did when he first experienced it all. Yet, he was better able to control his anger now than he was before. He was able to look back in the moment with how he reacted the first second that he had smelled the flames chrome the damaged Solar City.
The smells of burning things seemed to be stuck in his nose while he was miles away now. Even with the distance, the sounds and scents were still stuck in his head. But that could be shaken away to focus on the problems at hand.
"We are going to gather everything we need. Metals, food, camping supplies, energy crystals, whatever we can get, we will get." Clark saw that Purple had already begun to think of this. He and his family had some weight to throw around. They could help Isa get a lot of what they might need at the moment.
"There are stores of materials you may need for camping out in the wilderness. But the other more specific things you need may be harder. As you know, our home is underground. It is separated from many things above ground." Purple saw that Clark understood exactly what he was saying.
"So that means that Terra City and all the families have limited supplies that they can give up. They can only store so much and give so much before they reach a bottom line where they can not give anything for fear of running out in an emergency." Clark finished the thought and saw Purple's appreciative nod.
The understanding between them was a good thing. Many people had issues understanding why Terra City would limit certain items and trades for their merchants. This fact had made negotiations harder in the past between certain cities. But it also gave Terra more of a hand to play against others. They could limit traded goods, therefore, they set hard rules for how they interacted with others.
Just another fact that kept them from dealing with some corruption that other cities faced.
"Whatever we can get is more than we have now. Isa has plenty of connections she will be using to both send communication to those that need to know. We hope to come back to Nova in another six months. That way we can begin our work. But we will try and get some unique items. I heard that getting a communication crystal is possible.
Expensive, but we will need it." Clark had heard of such an item.
The communication crystals were so rare that they were often only used by the most important figures of each city. They required a large amount of energy to send communication. Voice messages to another communication crystal. The cost of energy and the cost of the crystal were too high for any average person to have.
Yet, they were the reason that city lords maintained contact. They were why many cities were able to communicate while also being able to understand dangers leaving or coming to their territories. These communications saved lives and were often only used for that exact reason. If the group had one, they could be called back if the worst began to happen.
"There is no chance that the Blood Moon Cult will calm down. They will most likely start to cause trouble after a victory. Then they will make a big move. Terra City will be prepared. I have already begun to pull in more allies with the vice head master at my family's side. I will keep the promises I have." Purple was very forward with this.
He was certain that whatever work they put in, they would be able to use to become a better role model for everyone in their fellow cities.
"That's good to hear. I know that when we get stronger, that we will be able to stand for more than we do now. We already know that the blood moon cult rising again will begin bringing people together. But that's brought together in fear. When we are strong enough, we will cut away that fear and those that try and use it for their own gain." Clark had this etched in to his very soul now.
Purple felt it sing true and only nodded.
The silence that the two shared was more than what words could say. Purple had total respect for Clark because of his strength. The two had fought and Purple had felt every single drive to become better in every hit they dished out. Their goals to be stronger and represent their homes were just building blocks for a true bond that would stand taller than most in the grand scheme of things.
"You two might be talking about what we need, but you should know that we are going to need a lot more than what you think. Between Ella and myself, we were able to pick out herbs, living supplies, and a few other unique things that we will need multiple of.
We can handle most without replacements, but the smaller items that are one use will need multiple." Isa came up when she noticed that the two had stopped talking.
The walk through Terra was much different than before. They had easily taken a lift down. The carts they took were heavily monitored. Clark saw multiple earth type beasts everywhere working with guards. The lockdown was much more strict.
From what they could see, only the deeper caves had been flooded. The water had stopped soon enough that the city had not been threatened at all. Some beasts had fled from the caves which had brought more guards to fight them. The influx of materials had done well to stock things up for the city. But most of all, the guards had been able to prepare themselves sooner.
Now that they had been active, they just ramped up their detailed protection of the caves, the borders, and everything else possible around the city. This made the people who lived within the city a little more relaxed but also highlighted the worries they had. Therefore, some somber atmospheres were clear on the faces and the air around the people of Terra.
"I managed to join a few exploration groups using my family strength. I also used my title as the strongest first year in the city to get out. I battled some opponents within the caves along side the guards. I was able to see how some of them fight with beasts as if they were an extension of themselves. I will not be getting another beast, but I see more value in teamwork now than before."
Purple surprised Clark by saying this. It meant that Purple would be working more closely with powerful people overall. "That's why we are all staying together. The losses we will java by splitting up are greater. We make each other stronger and can force ourselves to work on our weaknesses while being covered.
Individually we will grow differently, but we will lose valuable aspects." Clark agreed with this since they had all just made the same choices.
"One thing we will need, books, that's the one thing. About leatherwork, alchemy, blacksmithing, healing, whatever you can get us copies of. They should not be that hard to get since they aren't single things. They are copies." Ralph jumped in and saw that purple was a little confused but also had some understanding. "What?
I can't let you forget while you sit here and blabber." Ralph scoffed at Clark a little.
"Yes, he is right. We need those so that we can start getting stronger in those ways too. Purple should be able to grab exactly those things using his authority and we can pay him." Isa was certain she could find these things too. But she also knew it would not be as speedy as she wanted. Purple's family would move faster.
"That is an easy thing to fulfill. We can easily find knowledge for you all. I was collecting things as well. Unarmed fighting styles specifically. But I will ask all of you for knowledge too." Purple was looking to make a style for himself. A fighting style that could counter all sorts of weapons.
"Then we will tell you what we can. When I see you again, I am sure that you will have a new style to show off." Clark was glad to share this with Purple. he would gladly see Purple become much stronger.
