Spirit Taming

Chapter 534: Brutal Winds

Chapter 534: Brutal Winds

The rest of the group watched as their professor dashed forward toward Solar city. It was much closer but the speed that professor Wright moved shocked them. It was very clear why she was in charge of their group. She had a very high amount of strength because of her time traveling before she finally settled down as a professor.

Clark also saw a hint of another beast being called out from her taming space, the only details that he caught were a slightly shiny black horn. Otherwise, he didn't see it long enough or enough of its body to be able to analyze what it was. This would definitely make him want to know more.

"Alright, with the wind caterpillar and the frost finch, send me as much wind energy as possible. If even more possible, make the wind swirl around me a bit." Clark had the goal to make the wind as mobile as he could as he activated his moving meditation technique. That would be the start of trying to create some kind of wind storm.

the dragon energy that started to pick up again was mixed with a little spiritual energy from Devi. but since Shy had been left out, she had already bothered Clark to be released from the edens end taming space. Her single desire was to show that she was strong enough to fight around the lava fields and the fields of long grass ahead of them.

The more that he thought about it, the more that Clark realized that this misty area with many shadows and long grass was ideal for Shy. she could use her shadow energy and hide herself better. She was also better able to find ways to use the shadow threads skills that didn't manipulate the bodies of beasts. Therefore, she would be able to do something here and there to be able to attack.

The idea that the shadow threads were so versatile was something that Clark had been somewhat ignorant to since Shy was the weakest of his beasts. Crim had been born and instantly started to grow due to the fact that he was a dragon. Compared to the average hatched beasts or even the most powerful hatched beasts, he was on top.

Devi was also in a league of his own because he had been in an egg form waiting for Clark his whole life. Clark had just needed to awaken the system properly and allow Devi to hatch. When that had happened, he was already much more mature and closer bonded as Clark's spirit beast than any other beast would be.

This left Shy as the weakest and slowest growing. Not that she was weak in any means. Clark felt that she had grown significantly. He hadn't been watching her in the taming space much, but it was clear that while Devi and Crim had been fighting with him, Shy had been strengthening herself as well.

As a result, hundreds of shadow threads spread out along the ground. Some were weak because of the heat of the fire coming from the ground, but the more that the group pushed forward at their brisk pace, the more that the shadows strengthened. They were stronger because of the dimmed light around. The smoke had a large effect on the area as a whole.

It wasn't just the mists from the rainstorm and the heat causing the water from the rain to evaporate and drift toward the grassy fields. It was the smoke created by the cult members fighting around Lunar and Solar cities. But that was about to change. Clark would ensure this.

"Well, let's follow the plan." Grace was very energetic with this promise. She was sure that Clark was thinking ahead about how this would help everyone. But she also felt confident about her own strength. Compared to the first attack they had witnessed in Nebula city, they had all taken a major step up. Now they could push aside the horror they saw and be able to fight back with prejudice.

The other just went with it. As much as they wanted to look at Clark and tell him that they were all going to rush ahead with him, they had to worry about the hallucinogenic smoke. If they lost their wits, then they would be the same as enemies to Clark who could easily resist such poisons in the air due to his bond with Crim.

Feeling the sudden energies around him, Clark fully focused on the flow of energies within his own body. Crim and Devi both provided him with enhancement naturally. Devi made his spirit much tougher and able to hold on to the control of his own body. It also let his mind feel more refreshed. But this was just part of it. The boost that Clark got was deeper than that.

He could sense it deep down in his very soul. The energies that he and Devi shared were beyond unique.

When Crim's unique dragon energy radiated through him, Clark felt the connections to various other energies and the simple fact that Crim had come from a powerful dragon capable of causing massive changes in the weather. It was just the fact of what kind of dragon Crim had come from. The natural result when a slime dragon was birthed from the very bone marrow of a powerful dragon.

The moment that Clark began using the flowing storms meditation technique, everyone sensed a change in pressure. This wasn't just the natural energies form his partners, but the way that Clark used the energies.

His body clearly became more agile and flexible as he moved forward with bursts of power. But the air around him and the wind energies being sent were taken fully around him. The mists and the smoke lingering toward them was being pushed around easily.

The more that Clark pursued his path toward the long grasses, the more that the wind seemed to pick up. While this came at a high energy cost, Clark could handle it. He was a lot more powerful than he had been months ago. He had also been strengthening himself to handle just this sort of situation. He planned to be able to create an actual storm of rain, fight, and wind at some point.

It would be the ideal situation for the black lightning spear to strike down someone.

"The winds are increasing at an improved rate. If I called my living mist out there would be a major decrease in power that it can wield because the illusions it conjures are dependant on mist." Ella saw that Clark could easily counter one of her core battle strategies with his current strength.

"You're telling me, I think he just turned the winds that we sent in to his own strength. Or, maybe it is just reacting to him? I have no idea because my partner can't make it do anything anymore." Grace felt a little worried seeing that the winds her partner created were so easily stolen away.

What really hit her hard was the fact that Isa had the wind caterpillar send out some wind too and even though it had, Clark still easily used it. But it wasn't the same. The weak and young wind caterpillar was still a purely wind type beast. It should have an advantage over wind energy. Yet, here they were seeing it also have no control over its wind any longer.

As the wind picked up, everyone sensed the other energies within. The dragon energy was dominating when it came to most other energies. That's why dragons were a respected beast overall. It normally stood above man in power and versatility.

The small amount of death energy that naturally oozed out of Devi and Clark also had an effect. The winds that were provided had seemed strong and pure, but now they carried an ominous feeling with them. One that spoke beyond what dragon energy was capable of. Even the dragons would rarely have any control of death energy.

Clark breathed in deeply before also releasing the dragon's majesty skill. This was the key factor that allowed him to push even more forward with his moving meditation technique. The result was very clear.

Every energy that Clark used within his body had a dramatic influence on the area around him. While the term storm was missing here, Clark still created a violent gust of wind that spread much further ahead of him.

This was just to be expected, Clark could not make a true wind storm, but he clearly made a gust of wind, dragon energy, and some death energy that pushed well ahead. It made a severe mark on the mists and smoke that kept traveling for a very long distance. Well passed the Lunar academy city walls and city itself.

No one would have imagined that one of the youngest students of nova academy had just managed to deal a major blow to the battling cult ahead of them. But it had made a direct effect and that was all that mattered. Now Clark and the group would push from the lava fields in to the long grasses to do battle on their own terms.
