Chapter 520: Different Finds
Chapter 520: Different Finds
With a slight feeling of comfortability in his own decisions, Clark kept moving toward the rocky area he needed to climb to get to the area he could tell there was a battle in. his mind had only sat in worry for a short bit of time as he knew the rest of his group would be going off to find the guards. But he didn't feel worried at all anymore.
He was sure that they were strong and tough enough to handle any dangers that they found.
With this out of his mind, the focus on climbing the mountain was coming along more easily. Since Crim had been able to take the armor form and use the wings to give Clark a boost, he was able to span some of the larger gaps where stones had parted.
On top of this, Clark didn't worry about falling at all. He knew that the wings on the slime armor would be enough to stop his fall and even bring him back up higher than he had been before. But he had to use that strength sparingly so that he would not burn out his energy too soon.
The fact that this dungeon was connected to other spaces made it unique. He had seen the difference at the entrance. He had never seen a dungeon that has spawned naturally with a gate. Let alone one so ornate and filled with unique energies that he couldn't comprehend.
The air within the dungeon already proved to be unique. He could sense the deeper fire and earth energies that came with this volcanic mountain. It was something that any tamer with a related beast or just in general would sense.
These energies made the entire dungeon ideal for earth and fire type beasts to grow. Clark could be sure that the perfect crystal golem, the earth prince, the molten boar, and the flame sprite would be making the most of it while the group traveled. But to return focus to his own beasts, Clark could sense the dragon energies around.
This was a small bit here and there. Dragon energy was not easily grasped by those that did not have it inherently. But with Crim in his armor form, Clark had a better connection to Crim's dragon energy and therefore had a better sense over dragon energy as a whole. It was why he knew that there were small traces all over the place.
Drifting in the super hot winds were enough different traces of dragon energy to prove that there were beasts with some dragon energy within their bodies somewhere through this dungeon. But it seemed too peaceful. He had yet to see a beast as he climbed the harsh rocky mountain. Even more worrisome, Clark had barely seen or felt the true heat of following lava.
"This is going to be tough guys." Clark gave an internal warning to his beasts. Crim could already sense that they would be creeping up on a dangerous place. Devi was the same. He had been scouting ahead and was viewing some of the shattered stones on the mountain side.
With the freedom to float in the air, Devi was the ideal scout here. He was invisible and could not be spotted. A ghost was a ghost and he was making sure to use the best of that ability. "Footprints?" Clark knew that this message from Devi was a great way to see what kinds of stronger beasts were around. He would not have sent this warning if Clark was going to find some small beast prints.
As Clark pulled himself up the last stone toward a larger ledge that had been formed by lava that cooled over time, he was surprised to find that the footprints that Devi had warned him about were not on the surface but had been pressed in to the stone itself. That meant that the lava had been hot and cooled when the footprint was created.
'Draconic lizard welp prints -rare
The draconic lizard welp is a beast that had too little dragon blood to properly become a real dragon. Due to this, the beast was thrown from the nest. This often happens when a dragon mates with a similar beast of weaker strength. They will give birth to hybrids or unique dragons but also have the chance to give birth to a welp which is too weak from either species.
This does not mean that they are weak overall. They are often stronger than their equals. As seen in this print, the sharper claws and the tougher resistances to heat were clearly inherited from the dragon blood.'
This was a lot of information for just a single set of footprints. But it was very valuable information. This sort of beast would have made things very tough for the beasts that normally lived here to handle their territory. But the dragons would hate it since it was a weaker version. Even sensing Crim's feelings as Clark explained what it was, was enough to understand.
Crim had an instinctual distaste for this beast due to his relationships with dragons.
This wasn't a bad thing though. Both of them understood that hunting such a beast would bring down ideal materials for Crim to consume. A little dragon blood could be filtered out and become Crim's strength. Especially since it was clear that the dragon blood in question was related fire. That would mean that Crim could boost the natural fire resistance that he had.
It would also help Clark do so as well.
This was just a thought though. The focus was on the battlefield that Clark found himself looking at. The entire side of the mountain appeared to have been cooled and forcefully battled over. Only a powerful beast and powerful tamers could handle this sort of fight. But what stood out more than anything were the differences in stones.
There were stones that did not match the black lava rocks and the gray mountain stones. These deeper brown stones were tougher but in a way that proved that they had come from deeper underground. "I was looking for the dwarves since I have to destroy some sort of crown thing, but this might be the golems that the elves are using…" Clark mumbled out loud.
He was trying to analyze the materials he saw but got nothing other than deep earth stone.
Furthermore, Clark was finding that there was no plant life here at all. It was something he had minorly noticed when he entered, but it was clear that any natural herb that grew here had been picked up. "If the elves and dwarves already have been fighting heere for materials, the humans are late." This was the proper conclusion when it came to this evidence.
Feeling that it was better to keep moving up, Clark started to climb again. This time though, he was more vigilant and had Devi watching his back. As if to prove this decision correct, Devi immediately noticed some more odd colored stones standing out in the distance. They were climbing a larger mountain that had even more free flowing lava on it.
This mountain had some arching stones that had sheared off and connected them with a very rough natural stone bridge.
The looks of the stones were enough for Clark to let Crim know that he had to be on alert. This stone could break at any moment and cause him to fall. Crim would need to flap his wings and keep Clark safe at any moment. But that was not the only focus now. Clark had used the system to analyze the odd rocks he could see from Devi's warning.
'Deep earth golem- rare
The deep earth golem is a unique beast that only the earth elves can create. They often are made from earthen stone that is condensed by the natural gravity of the earth. Due to their rarity, it takes some years to create them. This is fine for the long lived elves though.
Some unique elves are born to be able to channel the earth and fire energy naturally. They will often create and grow a powerful deep earth golem then push it to develop a fire affinity to create a magma or a volcanic golem. This is dependent on the environment and the elf that tamed the golem.
This golem is very young in terms of being created. It requires the tamer to manipulate its energy since the created core is not yet balanced enough to properly sustain it. Therefore, it is currently put to rest as the elf is occupied. This is a great way for the best to maintain a steady flow of energy without stressing its core.
The core is also the weak point of the deep earth golem the same way…'
Clark spotted the golem and saw that there were more than one deep earth golem. He easily caught on that five weaker deep earth golems were right on the other side of the mountain. It seemed that he had found a way to the elves before the dwarves.
