Chapter 498: Training Results

Chapter 498: Training Results

Making it anywhere that was not the training area was just a joke. By the time the day had even neared being done, the group had exhausted themselves. The only one that appeared to have any form of resilience to the training was Clark who was still standing. While unsteady, he was standing.

Clark had constantly flowed through the energy that his beasts had given him. Crim's dragon energy reserve was nil at this point. Devi was more or less the same, the only thing that kept Devi moving was the simple fact that Shy had stepped up a lot toward the last hour and let Clark focus on the shadow energies she provided.

This left Shy equally exhausted. So much so that for the next three days she would be asleep. But when it came to shadow energy, Clark had learned that it was more than just something that Shy could manipulate. Because of his relationship with her becoming stronger, Clark had caught on to the fact that he too could manipulate his shadow.

As Clark had used the new techniques and the flowing storms meditation technique that had been refined just for him, his shadow had oscillated and acted erratic. This had been because of Clark's ability to let the shadow energy flow through him. But when Shy had focused more of her shadow energy toward their bond, Clark had noticed the change clearly.

His shadow might not have any physical affects the way that Shy could. That was just the limit of what he could do since he was still human. However, when he acted, the shadow would seem to loom up around him. Like the shadow of an approaching storm. It caused a naturally intimidating feeling around everyone and everything that was even nearby Clark.

The perfect deterrent in battle to stress an opponent.

These last few minutes had left Clark feeling the effects of all this training. The growth potion had clearly allowed him to grasp these ideas. The techniques that he had not been able to understand because it would have taken years to properly fathom and combine.

The lunar dragon spear technique was enough to make it appear that Clark had risen miles above what he had been before. It was odd that the lunar spear technique had been adjusted more to fit the draconic power that Crim provided. Clark's body had clearly adjusted to this energy and so had his forms.

But instead of being closer to the kind of dragon Crim came from, it had stayed with the kind of technique that the spear art was overall.

Many would wonder what had caused this, But Clark hadn't flinched at all. He had felt that it naturally flowed with the enhanced comprehension from both the system and the growth potion. It was also just natural since he had already known the relationship with the moon and the spear technique when Alexander had given it to him.

It seemed that the system had enhanced it based on how Clark was perceiving what he needed to do to grow.

Furthermore, the moving meditation technique had become a much more interesting thing than what was expected. It held relationships to storms rather than death or dragons or anything. Yet, that made even more sense than the lunar dragon spear style. Storms were a mix of many energies. Storms manifested in many forms throughout the world.

Sandstorms, rain storms, lightning storms, fire storms near volcanoes, and so many more.

Things did get even more mysterious though. The mention of storms even outside the planet made it seem that the storms that Clark could be capable of creating at the pique of strength would extend to things that made even less sense for him at the moment. Using the many energies that Crim, Devi, and Shy provided would be a very intense endeavor.

To make a storm out of them, would mean that Clark was able to perfectly manipulate every single bit of energy.

This was just a small part of it though. The bonds that Clark had with all three of his beasts seemed to have solidified and become much stronger. It allowed them to share their energy and receive energies from Clark much more easily. Therefore, they were all in a state of adjustment. Clark in particular.

The last few seconds finally ran out of the twenty four hour training period causing Clark to collapse and fall right to sleep there in the training area. He had constantly grabbed potions to drink while Maria had begun to fully focus on adding additional healing to his body which was able to grow at a rapid pace due to the growth potion, nutrient potions, and the training.

While Maria had made massive leaps of her own in understanding how to heal on the move, she had also made sure to learn how to attack in partnership with her midnight eel. The pairing had proved to be ideal for the group training that this had ended up being. Even the newly adjusted bond to the jade worm egg had been somewhat strengthened since Maria's body had been able to grow stronger.

The shifting format of battle had insured the group that they would constantly be changing their battle styles. It had made everyone more dynamic. It connected the dots between the new sword techniques that Reese had begun to learn to diversify himself.

Grace had begun to learn ways of using the ice affinity of her frost finch to alter the terrain. To make things harder for others to move on while using the wind affinity to better move her body and be unaffected by such troubles.

This had been similar to Ralph who fought Clark after Grace did in the order. He had been channeling the fire type energies from his molten boar. He had not been able to learn to use any of the more toxic energies that his boar produced yet. But the fire energies had caused him to develop an entire aura of heat that many blacksmiths had naturally.

But using in battle weakened an opponent which would only help Ralph since he was already a very energetic fighter. It was just how he fought with axes.

Not that this compared to Jerold's more reserved style of battle. Clark had to sharpen his senses focusing on the sounds and shifting energies around him. The invisibility and silent movements that Jerold had trained were something that many would struggle to spot. Especially when he had used the dodging footwork that he gained from training against multiple people at once in Terra Academy.

The advances that Isa and Ella had made were somewhat more evident than others. They had ended up taking on an interesting role in the training. Isa had been focused on how she and her beasts bonded. The crystal golem had been able to better adjust and share its energy as it had finally received some better materials to help it grow while in Terra City.

The wind caterpillar had also been steadily showing a change in size as it consumed more food and wind energy. This had helped Isa greatly, especially since the flame sprite was on the verge of a growth spurt.

But when Ella had joined in and taken the focus, she had been able to let her beasts take over the energies that Isa had brought out with her beasts. The spirit infant had made small movements to help the living mist create illusions that challenged Clark's mentality.

The earth prince altered the training ground terrain causing it to appear that many more enemies than were really there were attacking him.

When the blue flame skeleton showed itself, Ella had struggled because of the larger energy draw. Her body was still lagging behind, therefore, Maria had hooghly focused on Ella's recovery. But it had brought the more powerful challenge that Clark needed to be able to advance even more.

The one that had surprised everyone was Brad. he had held out much longer compared to everyone else. The sheer magnitude of his endurance had become more than anyone his age would have. Purple had even watched and compared Brad to some of the strongest guard candidates that he had seen in Terra City and Nebula City during the tournament.

Leaving Purple out would be foolish though. He had been able to find his limit for the first time in a long time. These limits of his physical body showed him how he and his purple spirit beast were still struggling to work in perfect unison even though they now shared the same body. It also showed them how they were wasting some energy in their movements. This waste weakened them.

All of these things had been joint efforts that would take the group days to recover. Unlike Clark who had the cost of sleeping for a full day now, the rest of the group would be feeling the sourness. "I show up to find everyone since things are a mess and now you are all passed out from training? I missed all the fun." Leo had made his way to find the group.

He also wanted to see what his little sister had been doing. Now he found himself on clean up after speaking to Purple's mother and sister who had watched from the house.
